Thomas something to consider: The worst gift England ever gave the United States after world war two were Holstein cows. The black and white dairy cows. And a cow you have 158 chain of amino acids. The problem is they do not possess a protein all non-amino acid chain called A2. The African buffalo or better known as water buffalo, American buffalo or bison and best of all a jersey cows possess this protein called A2. I guarantee you if you give a kid who is lactose intolerant a glass of milk from a jersey cow, he would be fine.

Potatoes are high in solanins, they are "nightshades" and they are known for contributing to joint pains and other arthritic symptoms. Other "low fodmap" foods have lectins, phytates, and oxalates, so there's more to look out for than the fodmaps.

Thomas has plenty of videos on intermittent fasting. You shouldn't get acid reflux if you do intermittent fasting and eat a low carb diet followed by fodmap foods. If you are suffering from acid reflux, 15ml Apple cider vinegar aka ACV diluted in roughly 300ml of water should help you.

So maybe a video on intermittent fasting and acid reflux would be awesome.

I'm so confused about what to eat. Until all vitals can be measured in real time including inflammation markers I think everyone will be guessing about what the superior diet is. I just watched a video yesterday about how ones guy never gets sick because he eats garlic daily. Garlic is a high FODMAP food like mentioned in this video. Also onions are high FODMAP. That's a tough one to quit especially if you don't like bland food. Also, isn't slight bloating after any meal normal as part of the digestion system? Is it only a concern when it's extreme and painful?

I get mouth sores very bad canker sores to be exact I’ve had them so bad that they were down my throat and I’ve had to have them burned off. That was when I was more in my teenage years and now that I am over 60 I still get them but not that bad because I do avoid things chocolate for instance really really reeks havoc in my mouth. And I have a lot of stomach acid I have so much acid that after my gallbladder surgery I was still having a lot of pain and had an upper G.I.. They kept questioning me about drinking coffee or rinsing my mouth out when I brushed my teeth that I swallow and I kept saying no no and they said you have a lot of acid in your stomach. Well I already knew this it’s hereditary and I told them tell me something I don’t know. I have great digestion I have no issues. Other than the fact that nothing stays in my colon for very long I eliminate a lot. I always have. I’ve heard of FODMAPS. very interesting

I wish people would stop featuring Stan Effording until he addresses/changes the glaring inconsistencies within the vertical diet book and between the vertical diet book and the vertical diet cookbook. For example, In the "we prep / you prep" section, the vertical diet book gives different caloric values for the same food in several places. It looks a lot like he's modifying the information so the foods will fit the calorie targets he's trying to reach- instead of modifying the recipe or the amount of each food. And I don't want to mention all of the inconsistencies in the information between the vertical diet book and the vertical diet cookbook. To be sure, there is valuable information in the vertical diet book, but until those mistakes are corrected, it's unworthy of the praise and recognition that it has been receiving lately- and that makes me doubt anything that the author has to say.

    • @AggBaddie

@@AggBaddie the issue is that I paid $100 for an ebook and it can't tell me reliably how many calories are in rice. The calorie totals of the meals do not include the butter used to cook the meal. There are many small issues like that- that in themselves aren't a problem, but they add up. And for a $100 EBOOK, it should give the most accurate information possible. And it's certainly shouldn't contradict itself.

I do not like this guy or this diet. It promotes eating high glycemic, starchy foods. Quitting sugar, starch, grains and most fruit eliminated all my issues. I use to have gas issues like crazy the main culprits are sugar, starch, grain and most fruit. Quit the bread and all forms of sugar Stan and your gut issues will be gone. I can even eat Brussel sprouts and broccoli now without issues. I tried going pure carnivore and couldnt get my fasting and basal glucose below 100 until i brought back low glycemic vegetables snd fruit. Now my fasting blood glucose is 70s-80s snd my basal largely stays in the 80s. I seldom see my blood glucose go above 110 even after eating. Only time it goes above 110 consistently is moderate circuit training. All these diet gurus are happy to had out advice but how many are talking about what their blood panel looks like. You can look fantastic on the outside be a train wreck on the inside.

@@tylerh1648 I don't disagree, but I suspect his "inflammatory diet" may bear some responsibility, too. Either way...dude is rough looking and not appealing. Being 56 and active in competitive shooting, mountain biking, hiking, and trail running, I can't imagine being a giant Shrek looking dude who can't breathe. I wouldn't be able to do any of those things at the level I do. I mean, what the hell do you do for fun? Sit around and try to keep breathing? Haha. No thanks, brother. I'd rather model myself after someone like Mark Sisson. This guy probably won't even be alive at the age Sisson is now, much less be running around playing Ultimate Frisbee or riding "Fat Tire" bikes in the sand for a workout. Hell, this guy couldn't do those things now.

But hey, if you want to struggle to breath while having a casual conversation, be incredibly unattractive to females, have nuts tinier than my little grandsons, and you aren't into doing anything but lifting weights, you do you, man!
