Me encanta este himno, me hace recordar a mi infancia. Esta interpretación es preciosa, para mí esto sería lo que se escucha cuando uno llega al cielo. Muchas bendiciones para todos 🌠❤
This is one of my favorite hymns for all seasons...MAINLY because of the part...."glory to god, glory to god in the highest...peace on earth goodwill to men"...not just a song for christmas but a song to praise the Lord E.V.E.R.Y.D.A.Y.!
Lyrics 1. Far, far away on Judea’s plains, Shepherds of old heard the joyous strains: Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to God in the highest; Peace on earth, goodwill to men; Peace on earth, goodwill to men! 2. Sweet are these strains of redeeming love, Message of mercy from heav’n above: Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to God in the highest; Peace on earth, goodwill to men; Peace on earth, goodwill to men! 3. Lord, with the angels we too would rejoice; Help us to sing with the heart and voice: Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to God in the highest; Peace on earth, goodwill to men; Peace on earth, goodwill to men! 4. Hasten the time when, from ev’ry clime, Men shall unite in the strains sublime: Glory to God, Glory to God, Glory to God in the highest; Peace on earth, goodwill to men; Peace on earth, goodwill to men!
Yes that is why they are my favorite artist...I have worked in the conference center and everytime they practice their I stand like how people listen to their favorite popstar...but I am listening to heaven's stars....
Story of the inspiration for this song shared by Elder Larry R. Lawrence in his BYUI address “Why Not Ask?” Let me share another story of a Church member who tried hard to magnify his calling and was blessed with an amazing spiritual gift. Brother John Macfarlane was called to be a choir director in St. George, Utah, in the 1860s. One year, he decided the choir needed a new carol for their Christmas program. He had little experience at writing hymns, but he was not afraid to pray for help, for the gift to compose. "One night it came, suddenly, in a dream. John was awake instantly. He shook his wife, Ann, into wakefulness, crying out: "Ann, Ann, I have the words for a song, and I think I have the music too!" (Lloyd Wayland Macfarlane, Yours Sincerely, John M. Macfarlane). The song that John was given in his dream has become a beloved Christmas hymn played and sung all over the world. We know it as "Far, Far Away on Judea's Plains." The music and the lyrics were inspired of God, given in the form of a spiritual gift to a dedicated choir director.
yes that is my favorite part of this song! One of the reasons why I love this song is the chorus....the all-knowing truth is glory to god in the highest!

I am a Latter Day Saint since March 8, 1985. It was the best decision I have ever made in my life. It is home. Glory be to God in the highest.

I love this hymn
This beautiful, simple and often neglected carol has always been one of my favorites. I wish it would be sung more often.
