I think everyone's favourite hymn. May God be praised by it everytime it is sung. May the peace of the Christ Child flow on this sorrowful world at this time.
Was lucky enough to have seen Pavarotti when I was younger, I still get choked up thinking of how appreciative the audience was of him. Part of his greatness was that the feeling was mutual, he was holding back tears during the standing ovation. I don't believe I'll ever hear such beauty again in my lifetime, I count myself as very lucky to have been in the presence of his vocal talent.
@@jeffryhammel3035 So did I. Absolutely broke the bank the first time, when it was just Pavarotti., well worth it to be in the presence of the Great Man.

Placido, my hero. I have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him 8 times in Covent Garden - always remembered. I also saw Luciano there in Tosca, another great night. Nobody can take those wonderful memories away from me, mine till I go.
I would like to say that I am thankful for the gift of the 3 tenors. When I am looking at the world right now I miss people like them. I miss the deepness of love, understanding and feeling. THEY got the gift to have a great and wonderful voice. May God give us more from personalities like them - because we need them now more than ever. God bless you.
Stunning performance, the discussion regarding who is best is stupid. This was a beautiful rendition of a favourite piece of music. Why spoil the spirit and soul of it..just listen and enjoy
I think they are similar enough in what they are doing, to say that Pavarotti is much better. Not just better; the best. Maybe there were others who were better in pre-recording history. But he has no modern equal. His sound is open, and effortless. Domingo's is closed, tamped. Compared to Pavarotti, he sounds like a male Sara Brightman, singing with a duck face. Now the Josh Groban vs Michael Buble comparisons, on the other hand, don't work because they are doing different things -- crooner vs classical. Like comparing Andrea Bocelli vs Frank Sinatra. But between these 2, Pavarotti is so much better.
It's is a blessing from God that these truly gifted men were put on this earth to give heaven a voice to us. Rest in peace Mr. Poverati. You treasure lives on in us all.

"O Holy Night" (also known as "Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line "Minuit, chrétiens! c'est l'heure solennelle" (Midnight, Christians, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. The English version is by John Sullivan Dwight.

I had the privilege of attending Luciano s last performance. It was Incredibly beautiful. The entire audience was moved to tears. GOD REST HIS SOUL!
I consider Pav's voice too weak to be the best ever. He was a great tenor however.
His voice was a little weaker as he got older which happens to all singers
I wish I could
😢😮how old was he 🙏😇☮️🌹
