I loved how you were teaching your kids how to find their size and make sure the price was right! Love how they are scanning their own items and have their debit card! You’re an amazing mom and Your kids are adorable!
I absolutely love that you are teaching your kids to shop within a budget and what they need. These kids didn't get brand names and guess what, they lived! I am so happy watching capable kids!
When my mother took me shopping, I would always get as much as I could! She never told me about a budget. Fast forward to credit card debt (working on it) as an adult. 🙄
Just a little tip, I haven’t seen anyone mention in the comments. At the end of the back to school season when notebooks are $.50 instead of $2.00 go and stock up for the next school year. Yes, you don't have an exact list but buy the basics: notebooks, pencils, pens, pencil case, a new binder, and even a new backpack. My family has always done this and has saved so much money just by thinking ahead. Hope this helps someone save a few dollars 😃
Jordan, you are seriously an inspiration! I cannot imagine taking four kiddos to Walmart with me. lol I love that you take the time to teach them about budgeting/choices (something I would never have imagined teaching my four year old). You really are raising capable kids!
I love how you’re teaching your kids these simple but very important life skills to budget and save money where they can. This is love and kindness your beautiful children will never forget... 💜
Jordan, I can not even with this video. 😭❤️ I catch flack from a lot of people for being hands on with my kids in this regard- LITERALLY showing them how to handle their money. So THANK YOU. I feel so blessed to be a part of your community; these types of videos make me feel so empowered as a mama. Thank you for your creative insight into training kids and for the time you take to share this content with us. ❤️ Sending so much gratitude from Texas!
I love how you and Bubba are setting your kids up for a lifetime of success. They are capable, self-sufficient kids. I have an 18 and 14-year-old. I wish I knew you 18 years ago. I would have done things so differently. Your philosophy just makes so much sense to me.
This is so brilliant! I love that you take them time to educate them so early on and show them the value of money and how to look for good deals. Really awesome👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I think that comment Jordan made is so true I'm not a parent but it makes me so sad when I see parents buying newborns branded clothes because they grow so fast :( It's refreshing to see how Jordan is instilling such good values into her children
@@amanboparai2360 The only bougie (Nike, Addias, Puma, etc) clothing my daughter gets is 1. Used or 2. Gifts because I refuse to pay full price for something my 10 month old will grow out of quickly. She's at the age where she doesn't wear through her stuff.
@@Bookworm5589 That's fair :) I personally never grew up around branded clothing (payless shoes all the way, it broke my heart when it closed) I was happy with whatever my parents could afford and now that I'm older I hold the same values to this day the most expensive thing (clothing wise) I own are timberlands and my winter jacket because I noticed my winter shoes would wear down super fast and winter in Canada is not fun ... but then again I justify my purchase in that I'm a responsible 20 yr old, I have two jobs and pay for my own expenses and I've invested my money in places that make the most sense to me ... (saving up for my future so one day I can go to Disney again and Hotsprings with my family and also investing in savings accounts)
WOW! What an amazing thing to do for your kids. They get excited about school, learn autonomy and good spending habits, and feel GREAT about themselves.
Hi, from Sweden! Really fun to see how you teach your kids how to handle money and how to spend them wisely. Love how patient you are and explains so good. You are a true inspiration!
I just want to thank you for encouraging your children to to be independent and self-sufficient. My sweet husband’s mom literally did everything for her children, and they really struggled as adults. She thought she was being the best mom she could be by doing everything for them, but in the long run, it really hurt them. Before we got married, my husband had never made a bed, washed a dish, or washed a load of laundry. These are all skills he learned after we got married (at 19). Luckily, the Army also chipped in and taught him a thing or two 🤪. 10 years later, and we are teaching our children how to be (age appropriately) independent, self-sufficient, and responsible. I appreciate your tips so much, because they have bolstered what we already do as a family. It’s also great to have tips from someone who already has systems in place. We are forever grateful for PBC and BBC!!!
I LOVED back to school shopping as a kid and I STILL love it as a teacher! I agree it is SO weird this year. It’s EASY to NOT teach kids about money and just do it for them, but parents and kids pay for that decision. I am so impressed with your family’s approach to budgeting, money, and including your kids in everything. I have a 20 month old and I am taking notes!!
I love setting a limit and letting kids make their own decisions. I don’t have kids but am very close to my nieces and took over back to school when they were 10. I gave them a certain amount of money and they would bring some of their own birthday money /gift cards etc... and off we’d go. I loved watching them figure out priorities based on the money they had and not expecting moms (or my) credit card. And I was always so proud of them going up to the counter to pay and keep tally of balances themselves - we did this even when they started college! We all looked forward to it every year. They’re both out of college (debt free - read Debt Free U - seriously) working and making smart choices - I really hope I had a part in that!
So refreshing to see capable (and competent) children being taught how to budget and how to proriitise items. The forward thinking (re changing weather etc) is also fantastic. So much respect x
I LOVE the way you talk to your kids about budgeting! The way you describe divvying up your budget is exactly the same conversation I've been having with my fiance about planning our wedding! That one question "where do you want your money to go" is SO important!
Can I just say YESSS it makes so much sense to me!!! I love how you keep them separate and give the kids the responsibility to get what they want & need !
I love that you raise “capable” children I do the same things so many parents want to do things for them but that doesn’t teach them to be functioning adults!!! Way to go Page family!!
Jordan, I am so impressed by how you are teaching your kids to be self-sufficient and responsible for they’re own world. I grew up kind of sheltered and I wish I had learned what you are teaching your children at an earlier age. I am in my forties now and I wish I had less over protection and more freedom at an earlier age to learn some of the lessons that I’m learning now i.e. better budgeting. I so enjoy your videos and I am inspired and motivated by them. Take care and God Bless you and your family.
I love this - raising capable kids! My kids are on the autism spectrum and it's very challenging to teach them life skills (I experience a lot of discouragement) but I will keep trying. Your content gives me hope and inspiration Jordan :)
This video is incredibly helpful. We've done a pretty good job of teaching our oldest about the value of a dollar. I love the idea of letting them be completely in charge of their own school budget. That is another layer of teaching them how to manage their money. I've definitely been inspired to do this with my 13 year old. This was also a great reminder to start doing this with my 6 year old as well. Thank you for such a great video.
This maybe one of my favorite videos you have done Jordan. I would love more content like this. My oldest is 8.5yrs old and I have been teaching her some things about shopping but this motivates me to step it up with her. I would also love your feed back about those debit cards for the kids when you use them more.
I can't handle two kids but God bless you. You helping this single mom how to be calm and patient I had a complete meltdown yesterday while trying to shop
That's amazing! Good for you Jordan for teaching your children the value of things. You tend to have parents at times that focus on brand names and as result their children not only become spoiled but they grow up thinking that their value comes from their materialistic items they possess. Jordan, you and your husband deserve an Oscar. 🏆Round of applause
This is parenting done so right!! Your kids are learning SO much in this experience. I’m sure it wasn’t easy and was tiring for everyone, but this is priceless life lessons being taught right here. Well done and thank you for sharing mama!!
I was homeschooled my whole life and my family had very little money so i have a few ideas to add to these tips. :-) If you can get plain notebooks, folders, pencil cases, etc for cheaper than the designed ones... Buy those and then get cheap stickers, cut out pictures from magazines/coloring books/whatever you have, and decorate them yourself. My mom did that a few years for me because it was cheaper AND more personalized so i loved it! Same idea with backpacks except use cool, cheap pins/patches. I still have a purse decorated like that cause I like the look. I'm sure i have more tips but i can't remember them now lol.
Ashley Noonan I use it with my brother who is on the spectrum and it is amazing! He is able to come up with a budget with us and we can put money to go towards specific places. (He LOVES sonic so he budgets some of his money for that and when we out the money there it is only for sonic so he can’t accidentally spend more)
Love this! Instead of having to nag kids all the time about saving money, respecting their belongings, thinking about the future, etc, take them along so they understand the WHY behind your thinking. Way to go mama 💪

Love how you’re teaching your kids independence and important life skills xxxx I would love to see a video on ways to be sustainable and minimize waste at home!! Thanks Jordan!! Xxxx
U and your kids r awesome. This teaches your kids so many things and techniques that they will carry over and use when they r adults, and they will pass down to their children one day. U r doing a great job!!
I have seriously paused this video 100 times to gush to my husband about what capable kids you are raising. I hope to someday be as savvy and awesome a mom as this.
You are so my hero. I feel like when I had one kid, I was so into helping him be self sufficient because I knew it was an important skill. But with three, it is so much harder ugh. I need to get back into it. You can do it, so can I.
Your kids are all so kind and beautiful. Their characters shine through and I love how they are learning responsibility! I am the same way with mine but I must say I need to be more patient and let them do things more on their own, I need to get those cards ! Way to go momma !
I love how you are bringing the kids up as responsible youngsters, and helping them to become aware of the value of money. I do the exact same and use similar techniques when we go shopping etc. It makes my life a lot easier and saves a lot of money! Good job Jordan!😊🤗
I give to ya Jordan. It takes patience, patience and more patience to teach kiddos all this stuff. Next time they have a word problem in school with real life prices and budgets, they will understand because they went through it with you. Great work raising capable young kids!
I’m nervous to suggest something considering you’re the queen of budgeting and smart shopping 😬 but one thing that has worked for me and my kids is investing in good socks! My kids all wear the same socks Nike dry fit socks in white, I have some sock for I promise you 2+ years! The best part is since they’re all the same color and mostly the same size it makes laundry a breeze!
Honest this is amazing! I just started teaching my son (5) to rinse his dishes and put it in the dish washer and my cousin who I watch (8) to do the same and help pick up the mess around the house. They normally clean up the toys but I really started giving them some harder chores and this is a new thing I can do with them!
I think you are such a fantastic mum! I'm inspired seeing how much you manage and work and just stay cool haha - it's making me less scared of having a family as a busy working woman. Thank you! Great job kiddos!
U guys are and will always be awesome! Dont worry about your mask in public, its easy to understand you with mask on, even for me in Austria. If you dont feel good with it, there are some pieces out there which keep a bit space arround lips, which feels good for talking + more save ones. Better keep everyone save. Here some people arround me died or suffer a lot because of Corona. Take care!
We have had the green light card for our kids for a few years. I love the features and the fact that you can control where they spend their money. They can send requests to buy things. You can set up an allowance and they can set aside money for savings goals. My son has a big ticket item he wants, so he's been taking some of each allowance and putting aside for his goal
I don’t have any kids, yet I always click so fast on your videos because I’m obsessed with how much you master parenting lol. Such great and well raised kids 🥰
Love this video! This inspired me to teach my 2 years old toddler to pay for snacks before we open. He holds on to his snack until we go to check out and then he places it on the scanner and bags it.
As someone who will be a new mom in a month or so, I just wanna say you're such a good role model as a mother! I'm excited to try and instill these skills in my kids as well. I love how smart and independent your kids are. 😊
I love how you're teaching your children valuable life skills so early, ESPECIALLY the value of a dollar. They will all be well prepared for the bright future that lies ahead!! Good luck this school year to all of y'all
I did back to school shopping with my 10 yr old boy yesterday. Wish i had half your patience and organization skills! We did ok though. He was also shocked by the cost of socks and underwear! Here's to raising capable kids!
I spent about $100 per kid for supplies and uniforms. Where I saved, was shopping sales ( oldnavy/target/staples) and buying next size up when replacing clothing throughout the year. We also were able to re use several folders and extras we bought last year, this year.
I love watching your friends Davey and April, but I love the fact that you do the whole budget thing. I don't see them doing that. They seem very extravagant.
My family uses greenlight and it is amazing!! We love it! We get our allowance through it, we get 10% allotted to charity and we get parent paid interest on our savings. The kids have the app on our phones so we are learning how to budget and be aware of our own money and spending
We took a different approach with our kids. Took them each year to the University Book Store to purchases their supplies. Did this a few weeks before classes commenced so it wasn’t overly busy but well stocked. Quality items, excellent prices, added some varsity clothes as well. Calm shopping and the kids felt like adults! Walked around campus talking about our experiences at our Alma Mater and had lunch at the Faculty Club. Kids looked forward to it every year. We like to think that giving them the exposure to higher education helped guide their goals. They all did their undergrads at that same school and then pursued graduate degrees at amazing schools.
We use the greenlight cards for my 3 kids also!!!! It is a great way for them to learn about budgeting. Also helps them understand responsibilities for their rewards. Sets goals if they want to save up for something extra special for themselves!
Thank you for the awsome tips!! My older two are 8 and 6.5 so we will need to try some them, my year old is starting kinder this year and he also needs a backpack and back to school clothes.
Absolutly love this video, you are such a good mom . Im a soon te be mom of 4. Currently 38 weeks pregnant and you really inspire and motivated me. God bless you for your effort and sharing your parenting tips and tricks with us.💕
Love this! We have a pretty tight budget, for four kids independently homeschooling we had a $150 budget for school supplies for the year including supplies for like science projects and some teacher necessities... Clothes budget is basically we scrape by the best we can and figure out how to get what we need as we need it...
Could you please tell us how you save up for clothes? Is it like a sinking fund from the 70% or do you pull it from family savings? This is such a great idea and I will definitely be doing this in the future! Thank you!
Your kids are gonna be very successful, and I can really see that. Been watching you from the last year. Wish I started it when I was 13-14. Anyways, it’s very helpful and motivating...i feel productive just watching your videos
I’m taking my 11yo school shopping tonight (I can only handle one of my kids at a time!), and this is SO HELPFUL! And reassuring-you obviously have lots of money, yet your kids are getting their clothes from Walmart. I actually got emotional watching you so carefully and patiently teach your kids these important life skills. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I try to do that too, but your method is more honed. Instead of just telling my son how much I’ll pay, I’m going to buy him a gift card before we start, or give him cash, and do this the way you just demonstrated. Thanks so very much for this video!
We spent $165 on each of my teen. I love seeing my kids excited when they find amazing deals. We had a blast shopping this years back to school shopping.
This is such a beneficial thing youre doing. I wish i was taught the value of money so young. When i got my first job in highschool I got punched in the face with how expensive everything was and my parents suddenly expected me to pay for everything I needed. I felt so guilty for how ignorant I was about money when I was a kid.
You are raising some very capable, self-sufficient kids. Love it
I was just thinking that. ❤️
We're trying! Thank you!

Wow! Little Bubba is right behind you. Every year he looks more and more like his daddy!
Awesome!!! Taking time to teach children the value of things is priceless.
Wow, this is excellent! I am so impressed how you enable your children to become self sufficient whenever you can in a totally calm manner.
Oh smart!
Pregnant with my first but still watching 💜 it will be so nice to have these kinds of tips available for the future!
Can I just use the app without having to buy the card?
Good luck this school year to all of y'all
Im definitely taking notes! This is a great way to teach your kids and let them make their own decisions.
Jordan, thank you. Kod budget friendly idea, give them the envelopes and have them subtract has they go. Best tips ever.
My family uses greenlight and it is amazing!! We love it! We get our allowance through it, we get 10% allotted to charity and we get parent paid interest on our savings. The kids have the app on our phones so we are learning how to budget and be aware of our own money and spending
Happy to be a part of the family! Are there specific charities your family gives to with Greenlight, Dasi?
Wao! You are a super mom, you are teaching your kids to be smart and wise adults. God bless you all.
The amount of patience you have is amazing!!!!
You are amazing! I am always looking for ways to teach my kids on being independent. Am learning how to "mom" from you channel! Thank you so much!
This was one of your best videos yet! Love to see the plan in action and your kids are adorable and so cooperative!
More kids in the videos please. They are a joy to watch
Absolutly love this video, you are such a good mom . Im a soon te be mom of 4. Currently 38 weeks pregnant and you really inspire and motivated me. God bless you for your effort and sharing your parenting tips and tricks with us.💕
I feel like I'm ready for my kids to be old enough to do this stuff because of your videos thank you
Yes! You got this, Mama!
Oh my so true!!
I'm 13 with no kids but I still love watching your videos
I love how you are shopping at walmart! It's enexpeisive (mostly) and kids grow so fast and it works so well
Great “real world” lessons ... thanks for sharing.
Hi Kids & Jordan Thanks for posting your video....👍 Ha 😁 Now I know how to use that check out machine that I've been avoiding
GREAT idea for lessons, video and school shopping. Takes alot of patience and energy but you got it girl !
what a great video. Your kids are adorable. I love the way you teach them. Great mom!
You are so awesome! Doing such a wonderful job with those beautiful children!
If more parents raised their children to be functioning humans the world would be a better place. Love seeing videos like this.
Man so amazing. Thx great video. Very informative and educational. I totally need to get on this with my daughter.
You seem like such an awesome mom and you are raising very responsible kids!!
Thank you so much!
You are so patient! what a great way to teach kids the value of money and how to shop!
This is such a beneficial thing youre doing. I wish i was taught the value of money so young. When i got my first job in highschool I got punched in the face with how expensive everything was and my parents suddenly expected me to pay for everything I needed. I felt so guilty for how ignorant I was about money when I was a kid.
Love how you teach your kids to be responsible with their money and make good choices. Taking notes for when I have my own kids lol!
