Small tip for all you guys. If you freeze your cheese, thaw it at room temp until it is completely thawed. Do NOT stick it in the fridge. Putting it to thaw in a colder environment doesn't let all the oils in the cheese soak back into the cheese completely, resulting in a different cheese texture. Once it is fully thawed, then you can throw that thing in the fridge.
A lot of these tips I've learned from the most frugal person I know, my grandma lol she was an immigrant and didn't waste anything because food was scarce for them growing up. May she RIP.
Well I’ve gotta give it to you Jordan. After a decade of seeing all the... “save on your grocery bill!! "... video after video .. I wasn’t expecting more than 1 or 2 actual helpful new tips. As usual you never fail to blow my mind. Thank you so much!
My best tip to save money on groceries is meal planning!! I was able to save between $80 and $100 off of our weekly grocery budget by shopping my fridge, freezer & pantry 1st... it’s a game changer!!!
Something else you can try the next time you go grocery shopping is this app called PICKL. It pays you $5 to take pictures of products on grocery store shelves.
Agree with all but the fruit one. A few years ago I started washing my fruit as soon as it came home. I wash it in water with a couple splashes of apple cider vinegar, and it's been a game changer. My fruit (strawberries, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, etc) last so much longer! I pick all the grapes from the stems, wash them with the water/ACV mixture, and put them in a container. Getting the dirt off right away keeps them from going bad faster. Also, when they're washed, and ready to use, my family uses them up so much faster. It's super quick to grab the container out of the fridge for breakfast or lunches, and just throw some into the lunch box, instead of washing them each time I'm going to use them. But not just for the convenience, but for the shelf life, it's been a game changer!!! But don't wash them in just water, they're go moldy.
In regards to berries, I ALWAYS wash them right away in a sink full of water w a splash of vinegar. Keep the berries whole. Air dry on a towel, pack in an airtight container with a paper towel at the bottom. Strawberries lasted more than a week this way with no molding or shriveling.
It's so amazing how much of this we already do! We do our shopping every two weeks and don't step into the store any other time. It has helped immensely! We do our shopping at multiple stores to get the best deals on our everyday stuff along with stocking up. Setting a budget helps!!! I can't emphasize enough how much it helps! It allows you to be more aware of what you're getting rather than buying junk or impulse buying that's probably going to go to waste anyway! I thought our budget was too low but nope right on! $750 for family of 7 and we increased it for two fur babies. Thanks Jordan for this! This gave me a confidence boost!! Just what I needed!
Tip: put avocados in the fridge and they will last longer. Also, if you only eat half of an avocado, save the side with the pit (covered) in fridge for longer freshness. Also, after taking fresh cilantro/asparagus/etc out of the produce bag, put them in a jar with water in the fridge, they will last ten times longer.
@@darnitthelma4247 have you ever thought about switching to different products? I use a soapy towel in the kitchen, bleach in the bathrooms and Mr clean multi purpose pretty much everywhere else. I'm almost never buying cleaning products
@Chablis McCandless There's actually a lot of counterfeit "same brand" products at dollar stores -- and a lot of them are super dangerous. But the real bang for your buck is buying store-brand from large wholesalers like Costco -- most Kirkland items are actually really high end! I think their Kirkland whiskey is Maker's Mark, some of their coffee is Starbucks, etc.
I have actually found that my berries and produce last SIGNIFICANTLY longer if I rinse them with white vinegar (diluted) immediately after purchasing! It kills some of the bacteria that contributes to them rotting. Loved this video! Thank you! 🙌🙌🙌
@@InterplanetJanet84 I put vinegar in a sink with cold water. I leave the fruit in there for 10 minutes. I take them out and place them on a towel to dry. There is no vinegar taste. The vinegar has to be diluted. It’s too acidic on its own.
I use my Walmart grocery delivery app and add everything to my cart but instead of checking out I go to the store with it as my shopping list so I already know my total before going. I could just checkout and go pick up the stuff but pickup has been a nightmare for me in the past.❤️
I do the same thing with HEB! Lol. Put everything in the app...see my total and go to the store. In and out in under one hour. No detours, no extra stuff I don’t need, etc. It’s life changing.
Great tips. My one tip for those of us who struggle with impulse buying items is to limit yourself to ONE per trip. This makes it so much easier to stick to.
I just bought a new house and money is so tight I was getting really nervous. So I watched a couple of your videos for the first time this week, and tried applying your tips when I made a grocery list. Took a bit of organizing, but so far I got my groceries down to $140 a month and after picking groceries up yesterday, I think I might be able to go lower. I’m so excited to be saving so much without feeling deprived! :D Its helped my anxiety a lot, so thank you!
Actually I prefer shopping in store because I like to be in control of everything that I bring in to my house. Like if they are out of stock of an item I want to choose what to replace it with not have the clerk choose for me. I also like to choose my own produce because I've seen so many people get bad produce and its more stressful for me asking for a refund and calling customer service than it is if I just take care of it myself. As for controlling the money, I have a list on my phone and I use my calculator to keep me on budget and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. When I budget I try to give myself $20 extra, that i dont include in my grocery budget for impulse buys and if I dont use that it helps me feel good and that is my spending allowance for the week to get a soda or a coffee and my allowance for the week goes into savings. Its a win-win
I've had to call on 3 separate occasions, just to get a refund for about $10. Eventually I gave up...still didn't get my money back. No more grocery orders for me!!
Sometimes I prefer to do my own shopping ... but I'll still add everything I need to my cart as if I was doing a pickup order, and use that as my list. Helps me still stay on budget, even with having to make substitutions or an impulse buy here or there.
Go buy the Rotisserie chickens the next day after they cool, they'll be half price and anyone on Food Stamps can buy them too, you can make all kinds of chicken meals with them to freeze and serve later, chicken pot pies, chicken fajita's, enchilada's, chicken salad, chicken soup, anything, and use those bones for bone broth too! Carli Wells made a very nutritious soup with all kinds of veggies and organic chicken. You can store it in the freezer in single serving containers or in family size for later use or giving away when people are sick. Ikea sells glass reusable freezer containers in various sizes. If your giving the soup or stew away, you can transfer it to a plastic container. Freeze leftover carrots, I never peel my carrots, just wash with a brush, celery, I use the whole celery stalk and leaves too, onions, corn cobs, scallions, just cut the roots off and use the whole scallion, leeks too can be added in winter, sweet potatoes, onion peels, as long as they're clean, to use in soups and stews. I hope this helps someone. God bless you snd your family.
Does anyone peel their bananas and freeze them? I’ve been doing that when they are on sale: buy a lot more and freeze them peeled in bags for smoothies, even in oatmeal ...before they go brown.
I make icecream too. Frozen overripe banana a splash of almond milk and tablespoon of nut butter, blend and refreeze. It's my 5yo's favourite and thinks its a treat. Edit: actually 5-6 bananas, splash of almond milk, and a tablespoon of nut butter. It makes about 4-5 little cups.
Okay, so I went to Costco the yesterday and STAYED IN BUDGET without having to say no to a lot of things, just because I'd planned ahead, like you recommend! It was an awesome feeling, thank you, Jordan!
I’m from Malaysia but I follow your budget tip. So instead or $100 a month (which is RM400 in my currency), I managed to get to down to RM300/per person a month living in my country! Thank you Jordan! Now I too, set a monthly budget, track my weekly grocery and always meal planning! 😘 love you and your family!
Also, thin sliced cheese that's not individually wrapped, if frozen, once you take it out of the freezer to us, it becomes brittle, and doesn't peel away from the papers very well.
Really quick tip for saving any stalk veggies from going bad: cut a piece off the end and set in water in the fridge. Keeps it fresh a long time. I do this constantly with brocolli and asparagus. I've literally had brocolli last almost 3 weeks by slicing off a bit of the stalk periodically and changing the water it sits in:)
my grandmother (born 1899) taught me to turn sour cream, etc., upside down. She lived thru the depression...she knew tricks! I used to go to the store at least every other day and would spend a MINIMUM of $20. I now live 30 miles from the nearest grocery store and I (obviously) need to really plan well and I save lots of $'s now!
Buy food (meat/fish/chicken) that is 40-50% off because it expires soon (or is on sale). Freeze it once you get home. And then use it for making dinner the coming weeks. 🥩🍗🍖🥓🍕
Love love love the tips. When it comes to fruit, I kinda do a combo, I wash my fruit in water with white vinegar, dry them out, and store them in a glass container, with paper towels. No joke, I've NEVER had fruit last so long in my fridge..
Yes, yes, yes! Gravity affects fruit/veg like nobody's business. Like people. Rotate your fruit/veg where it lays so pressure is constantly not on one spot that turns grody and speeds up decomposing.
As a person on my own I used to look for smaller sizes so not too many leftovers etc now I buy bigger sizes and batch cook. Eat one freeze 3. One big shop a month online. A small budget weekly for fresh things I buy locally. I spend way less and eat better.
I randomly discovered the hand tearing lettuce hack a few months ago. I just got lazy so I started ripping chunks out. I kid you not my head of lettuce lasts for weeks now! I need to clean and reorganize my fridge this weekend for sure. Thanks for the reminder
My favorite tip was to designate a shelf in the fridge only for leftovers! I don't keep that many leftovers in the fridge usually (mainly because I eat them until they're gone). My husband and stepdaughter don't always eat leftovers, so if I'm getting tired of eating the same leftovers day after day and there's still plenty left I will freeze the rest until I'm in the mood for it again. I do the same with breads like hamburger buns and sub rolls. I tend to turn those into homemade garlic bread when I make pasta. So much cheaper and tastier than store bought. Win!
BAPTIZED BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO- Hi Jordan, I came across your "What do Mormons Believe" video several months ago and was compelled to reach out to missionaries like you explained in the video, even though I was raised in an atheist/agnostic family. Fast forward, and I was baptized on Sept 19, 2020. Over a month ago! I now have the best community of my life and have more purpose than I ever have had before. Whenever people ask me about how I found the Church I tell them about your video. You and your husband have impacted my life in a huge way, just because of that one video!! I just wanted to say thank you to both of you. -Abi PS-I even serve as ward missionary in my YSA ward!
Wow, this video was probably the most helpful video I've ever watched! Thank you! What I love about this video is these are tips that anyone can use, it doesn't matter if they have a family or are single, they are still so helpful. I'm single and struggle with some of the other tips people post because they mostly are geared towards families.
Jordan gave me the inspiration to freeze literally EVERYTHING and so far, it's worked for 100% of the foods I froze. Sure, I might have used them for cooking and baking only anyway, but I can't even begin to calculate how much freezing stuff has saved me in $$$
You can freeze avocado very well also. SO MANY things freeze well, it's great. Also TOTALLY agree about grocery pickup. So easy and money saving and convenient
Jordan put those herbs in some water on the counter, they will last longer and you remember you have them. I use the same trick with kale. Treat them like fresh flowers.🌹🤠
@Rhonda just put them in a glass of water or what ever container works for you. Treat them like they are fresh flowers, make sure none of the leafy parts are in the water just the stems and change the water daily. They last quite a while like this also you can trim the ends to help keep them fresh.
I’m pretty strict on not wasting ANY food in our house. I think I know all the tricks, but then nope...I watch Jordan’s video and learn a new thing or two! 👍🏻❤️
Loved all these tips! I store my cilantro (after I’ve washed it) in a plastic bag with a paper towel or old, clean reusable cloth. Works good! Loved your adorable banana assistant, btw! 😃 Just too cute! 🥰
Jordan! I love your tips. Seriously. I've done your Budget Boot Camp and have learned so much, saved so much and have paid off debt like nobody's business. Life changing stuff you teach. Thank you sooooo much!
I enjoy grocery shopping, I like to pick the longest expiration date and look over the product while shopping. That is so true about that gallon of milk costing 50 dollars! Good tips, thanks.
I put cilantro, parsley and such in a mason jar with water in the fridge and it keeps them good so long. I also cut up carrots and celery for snacking at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week, whatever is left I chop even smaller and freeze. I have bags of chopped opinion, celery and carrots in the freezer and not only does it help with zero waste but helps save time with soups and such later. I also freeze my son’s yogurts and string cheese and then for lunches they help keep everything in his lunch box cool and thaw by lunch time.
In theory the once a week shop is great. In my house it doesn’t work. I know I don’t have enough fridge space for the amount of milk we need for the week. I buy what I can, and mid week we walk down to the mini market ( milk is price controlled in my country) and I only bring enough money to buy as much milk as I need= no impulse buying!!
I downloaded the fetch app after a previous video that you talked about it in. Within 5 months I have almost 12,000 points. We are a family of 3 and use alot of your hacks on a regular, especially freezing cheese and butter. Helps out so much, when baking,, when the weather is bad out , you can just pull what u need from your freezer.
We eat a lot of salads in my family. Whenever I bring the produce home, I spend a few minutes and process it. Then, I store it in glass Mason jars. It saves me so much time and the vegetables stay fresher way longer
I like to process my produce when I get home. Unlike Jordan, I prefer to have my “desirable fruit” (grapes and berries) washed so that they’re convenient for easy snacking.
I love this video. I learned some new things that really excited me. We go shopping once a month and once we get low we start shelf cooking. As a family of 7 your videos have been very helpful.
Awesome tips. I love grocery pickup! I've heard of the bread in the sugar & cookies. I've also heard putting an apple in a bag of potatoes helps prevent them from sprouting. Love your channel.
And it’s soooo true!!! We budget 350.00 a month, but that helps with medical if need be! With shelf shopping, that saved us last winter and Covid! I love 1 buy, get 2! Best thing ever!!!
I’m on a tighter budget now since I’m unemployed due to Covid. My position was eliminated. Glad I started prepping about 1 yr ago so now I only need to buy milk, eggs, cheese, and produce and I only buy what we’ll use one week at a time.
I'm on a tight budget as well, and i budget down to the penny. I've been using this app called PICKl, and I've been using it a lot, because it pays you $5 to take pictures of products in grocery stores. I live in LA and there's always a ton of tasks available.
Try powder milk. I get the Nestle brand it tastes great and you can make cheese and butter out of it. It can last forever as long as the can or bag is unopened.
@@zacharykatsouleas9956 have you thought about investing in seeds? Lettuce, spinach and radishes are the easiest. The Dollar Tree sells black buckets and seeds too.
I meal plan and shop once every two weeks. My hubby was military and we only got paid twice a month. It's so nice to have everything prepped and ready. Thank you for more tips I didn't know.
FANTASTIC TIPS!!!!! LOVE IT!!!! I also have put my onions in the fridge and now they last much longer and they dont burn my eyes when I peel or cut them! THANK YOU MUCH for so many great tips!
My tip: use dried grains to bulk up dishes. It's cheap, a little goes a long way, its full of nutrients and its pretty tasty. Barley, lentils, beans, split peas, corn....
@@Wazupiseeyou hey there little girl, how about you stop trolling peoples comments (I've seen a few rude ones from you) and you go and help your mommy with dinner or set the table for her. You'll be so much more helpful.
Awesome! I literally just organized my fridge before seeing this video! I needed a designated left over spot so we stop wasting food. It’s working!! I also added containers to use like drawers so we dont miss the stuff that gets shoved in the back forever 👍🏼 I also got fruit n veggie saving containers.
Love these tips. I always use the grocery story app even if I’m going in store. I make my list on the app and it totals it for me so I never go over budget 🙌
Also, WTHECK Did I never think of separating the bananas. My mom hack has been to only buy bunches of FIVE, so I know that they will grab one bunch for all of them. So mad at myself. LOL
How is it that I can watch a Jordan video, not learn anything new and still totally enjoy it? She is awesome! Amazing! And Entertaining! I am in awe of how she conquers motherhood and the business world and still has time to put makeup on. She has 3 more kids and many more businesses than I do! Maybe productivity boot camp is next for me ..🤔
Right now in life I'm dealing with trauma and a dysfunctional family, my head is too busy dealing with that to take in action any of the tips and tricks you have. But I love your energy and that alone helps me though my day. Just wanted you to know, you are doing more then help people save money, you are also helping some of our mental health. Thank you 😊 ❤
We live out in the country and are 35-45 minutes away from the nearest "big box stores". This has actually helped me because I have to rely on online grocery ordering for my bi-monthly grocery hauls and have saved on average between $80-$100 this way. I meal plan using a desk calender and then buy only the items I need for those meals. It has been a game changer. No impulse buying!
I am a single, impulsive eater lives within walking distance of two main grocery stores. I reduced waste by shopping every other day. I would walk to the grocery store, purchasing only what I needed and/or could carry in my arms. Yep, I forbid myself the basket. No way was I going to haul home a couple of heavy loads of groceries. I let my laziness work for me. I also logged a lot more walking exercise.
Miss Jordan, I looovveee your grocery videos! ❤️ My mom and I are on a super tight budget and with your tips you helped us get under $200 :) You rock!!
Another tip with the avocados is that if they are at the perfect ripeness you like you can actually store them in the fridge and they stop ripening. We have kept avocados up to a month in the fridge and they are just as fresh and perfectly green when you need them😁
Imagine then, having a household that doesn't purchase ANY butter, cheese, or milk from that is derived from cows! Talk about saving money! The very little plant based butter I do buy is only maybe 1 - 2 times a year! That's really only because I use more of it during the end of the year holidays for special occasion recipes. lol Plant based cheese is only about once every 2 - 3 months; but plant based milks are more like 2x months at Costco. We primarily eat whole food plant based. Our food is always free from animal products although we do sometimes eat vegan junk food. We eat this way for a variety of reasons but a HUGE BONUS was that our grocery bill went down tremendously!
I love using fresh herbs, I let them soak in a bowl with cold vinegar water for a few minutes. I use my salad spinner to get them dry, and leave them for a bit to dry fully. Then I put them in a plastic container lined with a paper towel. They stay fresh for up to 2 weeks and are always ready for use.
When I've been taking my dog to the field, I've been picking brambles from around. Sometimes only bringing 3 home. Wash them and straight into freezer. I bought 6 cooking apples and ended up with 12 apple and Bramble crumbles frozen and ready to go. Hubby laughed at my 3 brambles but enjoyed his first crumble when the weather started to get cooler here. Free is good.
The tip about shopping online is SO IMPORTANT. I live in the UK and we have major supermarkets such as Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Tesco etc. and then two 'discount' supermarkets called Aldi and Lidl. I always used to go to the cheaper supermarkets thinking it would save me money, but in the end it didn't because I just ended up impulse buying stuff I didn't need!! I would fill a trolley and think it would be well within budget because I was in a cheaper supermarket, and then I'd get to the till and be like £50 over budget. Thanks so much for all this great advice!
As far as avocados go, I let them ripen on the counter and then I stick them in the fridge. It essentially pauses the ripening and they are still perfect when I pull them out of the fridge even a week later!
Onions emit gases that will ripen vegies too. I have one shelf for leftovers also. Covering and storing leftovers properly is important so when you go to use them they are still good. Over ripe bananas are put into smoothies and muffins. I will try tearing the lettuce and use the paper towel trick to keep it dry. You have very good advice. Thank you!
You got this!!! Several years ago I had to cut our budget significantly. Meal planning, shopping once per week, and lastly shopping at Aldi are what helped me. It was actually quite easy. I adore Aldi. It’s been a game changer. God bless 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you for all your good advices! I have been watching you for the last few months...from Montreal, Quebec. You are a Super Mom! I don’t know how you do it with 8 kids but you inspire many people!
I’m extremely frugal and don’t learn anything new from your videos like this, but girl you are so entertaining I watch them anyway lol. I adore you and your family. We have 8 kids too and I love how normal I feel watching your videos 😂
Fantastic video Jordan! I have already applied some of these techniques into my shopping habits but I didn't know about Fetch. I will be downloading it and using it. Also, your son is so adorable, God bless his heart ❤️ Your last advice on budgeting, my grocery spending used to be $200 dollars per week, then two years ago I started veganism, now thanks to my (at-home-garden) my expenditure on just the items I need its $50 - $60 per week. Last year on Thanksgiving and Christmas didn't spend anything since I had almost everything in my pantry. Black olives, corn, dried tomatoes, butternut squash, potatoes, onions, etc.
I only have to look after myself and my partner, and since going on a diet I've saved SO much on my groceries. Sugary snacks, sweets, treats and crisps are AMAZINGLY expensive. Like yeah 90p for own brand jelly beans... That's still 90p on a snack that's not going to fill you up and will make you crave even more sugar, so like you said that mid-week milk run turns into milk + fruit + treats. I wish they made a 3 pint of milk, that would be enough for a week! ... Omg wait okay so like milk freezes super well? So... buy a 2 pt + 1 Pint for the freezer??? I think I just solved my own problem yay! :D
I’ve been freezing milk for years! Only thing to remember, it takes a while to thaw, especially the big ones. So get the back up thawing before you are out of the other 👍
@Anna V I despise nonfat dry milk. Even when it’s chilled very cold, I just can’t stand the taste. Another RUclipsr who was building up her pantry said Nestle Nido brand (in the Hispanic food section) is significantly better. It’s whole milk, not nonfat. She said it is very smooth and tastes like the real deal. Bought a very big container (53ounce canister, makes 53 8 oz servings) at Walmart for $15. But that is more than double the price of regular milk. Shelf life is ridiculously long though, so I got it for emergency stash. Haven’t tasted yet, but if we don’t like the taste for just drinking, I can use it up in baking and smoothies, so it won’t be wasted.
I limit the amount we spend on groceries and my boyfriend hates not being able to go into the store to get groceries. He’s a big time impulse buyer and always comes out with beer and snacks or a pair of socks when he has stuff at home 😩 it’s definitely gotten better over the last few months with our budget but it’s difficult being with an impulse buyer
Hahaha my Mum is crazy about those „weird bread heel nobody likes” 😂 She wouldn’t let anyone eat them and she always fights with anyone who steals from her 😂 Thank you Jordan for another great video! I can’t wait to start using them!

In regards to berries, I ALWAYS wash them right away in a sink full of water w a splash of vinegar. Keep the berries whole. Air dry on a towel, pack in an airtight container with a paper towel at the bottom. Strawberries lasted more than a week this way with no molding or shriveling.
I do this too! Key point is making sure they’re dry before storing!

I do the same thing with HEB! Lol. Put everything in the app...see my total and go to the store. In and out in under one hour. No detours, no extra stuff I don’t need, etc. It’s life changing.
I do the same! Love knowing what to expect!
Great idea
We have also had trouble getting a pickup spot and if we do, we end up having to go in anyway.
Great tips. My one tip for those of us who struggle with impulse buying items is to limit yourself to ONE per trip. This makes it so much easier to stick to.
I love these ideas! You should do a video on food waste, like making breadcrumbs or croutons out of stale bread
Yes please!!
That would be awesome!
I am not joking... I get my butt in gear by saying to myself... “Jordan is doing it with 8 kids. I can do this!” 🤣🙌🏼❤️
That's exactly what I say too lol
You are not alone literally got my pen n pad!
Same!
Haha, she helps me and I live alone no kids whatsoever 😂😁
She also has nannies and employees so don’t beat yourself up.
Hope you've managed to save loads in the past year 😊
Actually I prefer shopping in store because I like to be in control of everything that I bring in to my house.
I agree. The inconvenience of calling customer service is enough to make my do my own grocery shopping.
I've had to call on 3 separate occasions, just to get a refund for about $10. Eventually I gave up...still didn't get my money back. No more grocery orders for me!!
True, I like to be in control also... As much as I hate going grocery shopping, I rather do it myself:)
Sometimes I prefer to do my own shopping ... but I'll still add everything I need to my cart as if I was doing a pickup order, and use that as my list. Helps me still stay on budget, even with having to make substitutions or an impulse buy here or there.
And if you make that trip at 8pm on Tuesday, you'll have the store to yourself and the pick of the markdown shelves.
You can make (N)ice cream too with frozen bananas, some milk and any other frozen fruit/nuts/chocolate chips for different flavors 😊
@@laurenecarter246 thanks!! Great tip
@@nohitahlittlegirl thanks! Great tip!
I usually leave the peel on.
Hi. Im from Malaysia too and am a big fan of Jordan Page
YES!! This is the BEST!
I do this all the time with meats, bread, holiday cereal, yogurts and milks
I even look at discounted produce too
@@leeannarickerson4585 why have i never thought of this? You're a genius.
oh that's some good insight
Win!
BAPTIZED BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO-
Hi Jordan,
I came across your "What do Mormons Believe" video several months ago and was compelled to reach out to missionaries like you explained in the video, even though I was raised in an atheist/agnostic family.
-Abi
PS-I even serve as ward missionary in my YSA ward!
😭❤️ Abi! You just brought tears to our eyes. This comment makes everything we do worth it. So happy for you. ❤️ Thank you SO much for sharing.
That's so, so fabulous!❤️❤️❤️
I keep a few marshmallows with my brown sugar and it keeps it soft always.
I just love Jordan she always has the best tips, tricks and advice plus she's so funny and entertaining! Love her!
Sure, I might have used them for cooking and baking only anyway, but I can't even begin to calculate how much freezing stuff has saved me in $$$
I went on a freezing binge last month as a quarantine project lol. Deep freezer was stocked!
Same here @eva ohneNachname
You can freeze avocado very well also. SO MANY things freeze well, it's great.
Also TOTALLY agree about grocery pickup. So easy and money saving and convenient
Jordan put those herbs in some water on the counter, they will last longer and you remember you have them. I use the same trick with kale. Treat them like fresh flowers.🌹🤠
I was just wondering about this earlier! I want basil, but I can never use it up fast enough. Great tip, thank you.
I do the same with asparagus :)
Can u explain this in detail plz.
@Rhonda just put them in a glass of water or what ever container works for you. Treat them like they are fresh flowers, make sure none of the leafy parts are in the water just the stems and change the water daily. They last quite a while like this also you can trim the ends to help keep them fresh.
@@justinmegannoel9097 thank u.. I have never heard of this but it sure makes sense
* Make sure your fridge is set @ the proper temperature!! 😀 I had accidentally bumped the temp up.. Only noticed when food started spoiling faster.
Love it!!! 🤗🤗
Who else loves her tips and tricks??
Omg McEwan with the bananas is so cute ☺️ 🤣😍
I’m pretty strict on not wasting ANY food in our house. I think I know all the tricks, but then nope...I watch Jordan’s video and learn a new thing or two! 👍🏻❤️
It's just my bf and i here, but something(s) are wasted weekly and it is upsetting. That's an entire area im learning to gain control of currently.
I love the idea of the shelf for leftovers. We forget them all the time at the back of the fridge! Thank you for that!
It's so helpful!
I buy what I can, and mid week we walk down to the mini market ( milk is price controlled in my country) and I only bring enough money to buy as much milk as I need= no impulse buying!!
you can freeze milk... ive done it for years...
I never would've thought about that
Very hard-worker and very smart
And garden equipment
@@kateharrop4905 oh I haven't actually thought about gardening or growing any crops but that does interest me, thanks!
I started doing grocery delivery during covid, and I agree, it has made me sooo much more intentional about what I’m purchasing.
Mac is adorable showcasing his bananas. Such a cutie!🥰
I meal plan and shop once every two weeks. My hubby was military and we only got paid twice a month. It's so nice to have everything prepped and ready. Thank you for more tips I didn't know.
You are so entertaining! And, I never heard of the bread tricks before, or how to store cottage cheese/sour cream, thanks!
Barley, lentils, beans, split peas, corn....
i do that all the time. if your kids don't like them, just don't let them see you adding the pasta/veggies ;)
@@paisleydreamzzz So your kids are blind?

Mom of 5, Newish subscriber, and seriously trying to pinch our grocery budget. I legit LOVE your videos, and am so thankful for your YOUness.
Also, WTHECK Did I never think of separating the bananas. My mom hack has been to only buy bunches of FIVE, so I know that they will grab one bunch for all of them. So mad at myself. LOL
Oh my goodness! These are life changing tips and I can’t wait to try them! Thanks so much😊Also sending to friends and family💕
Love your makeup. You always look so pretty and put together. Maybe I should start a RUclips channel to motivate me to get ready daily. 😂
You are too kind! Thank you!
As a mom who just went from 2 to 6 kids in the last year almost two. Your my go to channel now. Lol.
Another tip with the avocados is that if they are at the perfect ripeness you like you can actually store them in the fridge and they stop ripening. We have kept avocados up to a month in the fridge and they are just as fresh and perfectly green when you need them😁
You can freeze them once ripe too!
You can freeze Avocados in their skins too. Even if they're not ripe yet. They will be mushy when they thaw.
I LOVE my plastic lettuce knife and salad spinner. Dice chop rinse spin store and DONE! But don’t forget the salad diaper…aka…paper towel!
My Wiscinsin mind is boggled that not everyone has extra butter and cheese in the freezer.
Right I buy stuff on sale or bulk and freeze it
Wisconsin lady here and I absolutely agree with you!! Along with bratwurst.
@@savvyshoppingmomma5474 Vegans eat so much processed food.
@@Wazupiseeyou I'd love to see the back up of this lol. being vegan has nothing with eating processed food lol it's down to the individuals
That’s talent to make a video about groceries comical. I completely enjoyed this video and laughed along the way too! Awesome ideas to implement!🙌👏🙌
Thanks for the information on saving foods from being tossed or going bad so quickly. I'm sharing with mom.
I spend $250 a month for a family of 5 but I go to a food truck that gives free fruits and veggies that the stores couldn't sell.
There is a food truck that gives free fruits and veggies??! 😧
That's nice that you have a free fruit and vegetables we don't have that in my area unless you go to a food pantry
For someone who says “I don’t know about you” often, you really DO seem to know about me! Lol thanks for this! Super helpful
Lmao 😄
😆
I love you Jordan for what you are doing and the way you do it.
I line my produce drawers with flour sack towels to be more eco-friendly. :)
I’ve done the dish drying Mats from dollar tree to do the same idea
Yea this is true!
Thank you!
I’m so excited for this video, I’m trying to cut my grocery bill in half, and I’ve been doing math all morning, this is just what I need! 😍🙏🏻

I love your energy, thank you for your awsome videos!

So get the back up thawing before you are out of the other 👍
Thanks for the tip!
I have powdered milk in my "actually the appcolpyse" bag and for camping
I have never in my life had a problem with cheese going bad. I have the opposite problem that I eat it toooo quickly!
