Sublime première partie,(j'aime le tempo adopté ici), étonnant et fantastique "intermède" , comme surgi d'un "état second" , retour à l'ineffable poésie du début, une harmonisation reconnaissable entre toutes ...Du très grand, très grand Schubert.
... and ~ as I was searching today, for something to please my soul ... I know I found it. Please let me thank you for it! What a sensitive Franz Schubert interpretation. Wonderful indeed! Thanks to all of you ~ Franz Schubert, Grigorij Sokolov ~ and you "nnamffohsaile" ;o)
Just found this video. I have loved Lang Langs slow performance of this as well. It's listed at "2009 Zoomer Hall" not by the title or composer. This is the first pianist I've found who also plays the Andantino slowly and with such feeling. Great!
@jeffg2020 la mélancolie russe est différente de la mélancolie germanique;disons qu'elle offre un nouvel éclairage et que sa lumière rasante fait apparaître d'autres contours à ce tableau musical.
This may be the first Sokolov interpretation that has not convinced me, I don't like the ornamentation, nor the tempo, for this sonata it's definitely schiff for me
I love this interpretation. I am overwhelmed by the slow pace, the darkness that slowly drags you in.
I like this slow tempo and his interpretation portraying the darkness before the storm and the dead calm after the storm.
A sublimely beautiful tempo.
merci Sokolov - merci inégalable SCHUBERT -

Michael the Greek modern classical music composer
Une interprétation époustouflante!
Am I the only one hearing the breath in the background ? 💙

Sehr ausdrucksvoll
Die Schubertsche Dämonie realisiert
Maybe there can be several favorites and not just one favorite?
Спасибо!!!!!
C’est de loin la meilleure interprétation que j’ai entendue
staggering
Magnificent ! Is this available on CD?
@antoinezygfryd j'aime beaucoup ce tempo qui laisse aux phrases le temps de se déployer.
@spind, on CD: Vicenza 20 january 2005, MBMusic. It is a dobble-CD with Chopin Fantasies, Impromptu, nocturnes and others -great! Best wishes
@spind I need to know too!

Beautiful tone, and incredibly expressive playing. I can't help thinking, though, that it's just a whisker too slow.
@liszt111 It convinces me a lot instead, this is my preferred interpretation.
hvilken indfølelse så smukt
actually this would make a really good looney tunes tom and jerryesque cartoon
A fine interpretation, though I’ll still rather go with Artur Schnabel.
Andras Schiff. 😄
Idol kritisieren?!!
I'm a huge fan of Sokolov, I think he,s a GENIUS, but this time, I prefer Mitsuko Uchida's interpretation.
@madfish369 Maybe an accident. ;)
Zu lahm!

Sokolov is great but this is too slow I feel. For me no one does this better than Alexander Lonquich.
Compare this interpretation to the one by Paul Lewis, I prefer the latter. Sokolov plays this too slow and static.
