Kratos and Hercules had the most in common, including both being human, both having been turned mad by the gods to kill their own family, and both being admirable warriors and heroes who respected one another. It's like a pattern of inferiority and jealousy that would make for some interesting dynamics if all the Olympians/Titans/Furies/Fates/etc weren't written as just plain dickish. Like there's a fair degree of nuance to a lot of them. Yeah I agree with you on Herk, imagine at least him not siding with Kratos but not getting in the way due to a mutual understanding of each other's pain and suffering at the hands of the Olympians they were brought up to try to respect and worship.. it's got potential

This boss is epic for so many reasons 1. Kratos isn’t even sure if he can beat Hercules and tries his hardest to convince him there’s no point in fighting 2. "Final-" before he even finish the phrase Kratos start punching him, the music then changes to Kratos theme and so Hercules comes to his senses. He's alone now, all his minions are gone, Hera who was enjoying the show was also gone, no one's coming to help him, the only thing left was trying to take down Kratos, he fails and Kratos keeps punching and besting him, he starts panicking and tries to throw him off the Forum many times but fails, only to see his last moments witnessing his brother's rage while being punched to death, when you see things in Hercules perspective, it's really a scary feeling

To this day I’m lightly surprised by Kratos’ interaction with Hercules. As others have pointed out, Kratos shows absolutely no hesitation in destroying every other entity. But in this case, even with Hercules challenging him, Kratos tries to reason with him…even tries to deescalate the situation. Unfortunately Hercules was consumed with too much petty bitterness. I think Kratos saw some kinship in him, not just through being half brothers. Perhaps a combination of respect of warrior prowess and the fact that both Demigods had been played like pawns by the gods. An unfortunate and tragic end for Hercules. Had they teamed up, they would have been unstoppable.
It's the sound of rage building inside Kratos, bursting open and unleashes into a massacre to whomever gets in his way of vengeance. Brr, scary because it isn't fun for Hercules anymore after that point.

Hercules has insane durability, and stamina. All jokes aside about him getting mopped, the guy took more of a beating than anyone else before him and still kept going.
There are moments in a game that feel special. Where you realize suddenly that what you are doing is awesome both in gameplay and as a narrative. Where you get completely immersed and lose yourself in the moment. That is truly the best feeling when playing a game. When everything in the world disappears except the game that you are playing. In Doom 2016 it happened in arenas while fighting hordes of enemies with the dynamic music that changes depending on how good you play. It happened for me in dmc 5 while getting and holding stylish ratings. I realize how important music is in combination with great gameplay and setting. The same happened while fighting hercules and the music built up towards the part at 4:10. As this is the mid point of the game (i think) you have gotten better at the game. There are a lot of enemies and you need to use all your skills and weapons to defeat them, all while fighting hercules at the same time. Playing well, destroying everyone around me while hearing the best part of this theme was an amazing experience. And the immersion that is so important.

This boss is epic for so many reasons
1. Kratos isn’t even sure if he can beat Hercules and tries his hardest to convince him there’s no point in fighting
2. During the final phase of Hercules, it literally looks like an older and younger brother fighting😂
3. The look on Hercules face when he’s pinned down and knows he’s screwed
The first point is not because he wasn't confident he able to beat hercules. Kratos just want to show mercy cause hercules wasn't even a part of his revenge. Easy to say he have no business with hercules.
@Muhaimin Akbar there's no reason he would be afraid of him. He killed a 500 m tall giant, huge beasts, other gods, etc. He's not going to be intimidated by this size difference at all. If you have that kind of experience, you're just not going to be afraid.

7:18, dude i don't know why but this part here, i know it wasnt intended and maybe im just overthinking it but it was such a perfect sync, Hercules was confident that he could beat Kratos, the music was with him, the trumpets showing all his might, and bam, Kratos take his gauntles.
"Final-" before he even finish the phrase Kratos start punching him, the music then changes to Kratos theme and so Hercules comes to his senses. He's alone now, all his minions are gone, Hera who was enjoying the show was also gone, no one's coming to help him, the only thing left was trying to take down Kratos, he fails and Kratos keeps punching and besting him, he starts panicking and tries to throw him off the Forum many times but fails, only to see his last moments witnessing his brother's rage while being punched to death, when you see things in Hercules perspective, it's really a scary feeling

To this day I’m lightly surprised by Kratos’ interaction with Hercules. As others have pointed out, Kratos shows absolutely no hesitation in destroying every other entity.
But in this case, even with Hercules challenging him, Kratos tries to reason with him…even tries to deescalate the situation. Unfortunately Hercules was consumed with too much petty bitterness.
I think Kratos saw some kinship in him, not just through being half brothers. Perhaps a combination of respect of warrior prowess and the fact that both Demigods had been played like pawns by the gods. An unfortunate and tragic end for Hercules. Had they teamed up, they would have been unstoppable.

There are moments in a game that feel special. Where you realize suddenly that what you are doing is awesome both in gameplay and as a narrative. Where you get completely immersed and lose yourself in the moment. That is truly the best feeling when playing a game. When everything in the world disappears except the game that you are playing. In Doom 2016 it happened in arenas while fighting hordes of enemies with the dynamic music that changes depending on how good you play. It happened for me in dmc 5 while getting and holding stylish ratings. I realize how important music is in combination with great gameplay and setting.
The same happened while fighting hercules and the music built up towards the part at 4:10. As this is the mid point of the game (i think) you have gotten better at the game. There are a lot of enemies and you need to use all your skills and weapons to defeat them, all while fighting hercules at the same time. Playing well, destroying everyone around me while hearing the best part of this theme was an amazing experience. And the immersion that is so important.
