@@Li-uj8rk our season was okay. Not the greatest as in the past, because there was a lot of rain this year. Also, covid procedures and stuff like that. We got to march this year that's all that matters. We also got a supior at MPA! What about you how was the season?
@@lcope2004 I'm a sophomore and have been playing violin for 12 years, but I had a study hall class with the band director and she got me into marching band even though I've never played any percussion or band instruments before (other than piano) and i joined the front ensemble and got a vibes 1 part, and the entire 2nd movement i have an electric violin solo! Ive definitely learned a lot, and even though we had times where we competed without a 5th of our band, it was great!
I haven’t been in band for 2 years, but I’m going back next year better than ever! I’ve been practicing almost daily until my tongue swells up (trumpet player here) I recently learned to play really high notes!
The title gives me flashbacks of this one dream I had where I was in my band class and I opened my case to get my flute but when I looked inside my flute was shattered into pieces 😭 I woke up right after that and my heart was racing- I got so scared that I checked on my flute and ofc it was fine, but that dream still scares me to this day, especially since I borrow my instrument from school-
Man I just got done with band camp for the first section and Friday we had a last play all together -I play low brass and I am the only female who can actually play- and all the clarinets were like ✨SqUEeAKkK✨ like no cap 😂
@@mmsarahs lol that is me and my bsf at band we know who to play our songs so we would stop playing and let others get yelled at as we try not to laugh
3:30 lol our marching band is the complete opposite. The trumpets are all introverts (including me) along with the flutes and some of the percussion and our drum major is just normal.
Man, I have been practicing. For the winter concert this year I have to play the glockenspiel for one song and triangle and snare for another. I have practiced so much I hear the songs in my dreams.
3:30 im a percussionist on the snare line, and us batteries have the lowest egos in the section, not including the whole marching band... but you know that trumpets def have the highest egos
12:26 During our last show of the season (AT A MAJOR STADIUM) one of the only bari sax player’s phone (WICH HE SHOULDN’T HAVE HAD ANY WAY) fell out of his pocket and picked it up IN THE MIDDLE OF A SET and put it back, not in his pocket but IN THE BELL OF HIS SAXOPHONE
So we have comp this Saturday and we are finally reviewing the first two song drills after a month. There are also kids who absolutely don’t care about it who are in their second year. I’m scared.
I went to my piano to play DEAF cause I thought I had to play it to understand the joke. It wasn't until the second time it occurred in the video that I understood it, even tho she misspelled deaf.
8:16 and that’s how I chip my reed. Bari sax is really heavy and the band director wants an immediate response. Either I hit my instrument on the stand, or I chip my reed .-.
ok story time, me as drum captain this past year: Me: alright, take it from a to b, A to B, does everyone got that? My line: Yes! Me: alright then here we go. LINE TEN HUT!! My line: snaps immediately to attention except for the 6 freshmen on cymbals Me: FRESHMEN! did you think you're in concert band again??? Freshmen: quickly get set now that they know im pissed at them after a few reps Cymbal section leader (also a freshmen): come on guys, put some work in the rest of the cymbal line: YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON OUR SIDE!!!! rest of the line: cracks up
I like when he still adds in the Practice thing, like bruh, I'm off season, no games to goto,, no exams or music to practice or audition for, and I certainly don't wanna sight read and do other wacky things during the summer
Hi I’m going into my freshman year and I need to learn the clarinet within 3 months 😬. All I’ve ever done was one year of percussion after deciding that I really wasn’t enjoying it at all and wanted to switch. I also go to a small private school so there is a ton of pressure to get it done (as in there are literally 2 other clarinet players so if I mess up it’s very obvious) does anyone have advice for ways to learn it fast?
ok so i had a solo this year in marching band right and i had a nightmare that my french horn started melting in my hands when i started playing and everyone was laughing at me ugh i hated that. i literally was shaking the next time i had to play it lmao
3:35 there is this one flute in my band and he has the biggest ego and I'm a flute to so no hate on flute here but he thinks he's better then everyone even though everyone else in band says he sucks and I'm better then him. side note he has been playing for a couple of years this was my first people say I'm gonna climb up fast
i had a nightmare las night that i couldnt go to dog bang (basket ball games band) anymore at all in my life and im only is seventh and started las year on snare
I had a dream about marching band last night. It was kinda scary since I'm a sophomore this year but because of covid last year I wasn't able to join marching band in my freshman year so this next year will be my first ever season in marching band. Next week, actually. Wish me luck im kinda s ca r ed
Practicing my instrument in the summer is boring cause I don't have any concert music to work on. I just spend like 20 minutes working on scales, technique, intonation; stuff that I know is very important, but I just find it boring. I much prefer having music to work towards.
look up fun music on google, I play bass clarinet (so the only requirement really is that it needs to be for a Bb instrument, some of my songs are written for trumpet) and i've found stuff from my favorite movies like Sally's Song from Nightmare Before Christmas, and several game and meme songs, it helps me a lot :)
The first "technical" day of band camp starts in a mere few hours!
It went well!
how was your season?!

i absolutely love how every band tiktok video has a 'go practice!' tiktok at the end. the thing about it though, nobody obeys it
I actually watch these when I need to practice specifically to see that at the end and get up to do it-
*which is what I’m doing right now*

I just realized she didn't misspell deaf. She actually meant dead. I'm slow today.

The amount of times I’ve done that 💀
What’s interesting about the timing of this video is how my marching season just ended and the show theme was dream/nightmare
