A few friends and I went to a folk festival and played this song (Irish whistle, violin, bodhran and vocal) at our campsite. We were joined by a few others who picked it up and joined us, it was very wholesome and good fantasy vibes
I just feel so at home in this little world we have created. I can imagine sitting by the fire after a long walk through the forest to return back to my own little corner of this universe, right here in the tavern. This song brings warm, nostalgic chills to my spine and a tear to my eye. God I wish I could visit this tavern in real life...
Wholesome Tavern music is my favorite. No bad guys, no meanies, no arguments, just music and fun. Maybe the occasional drunk guy, but overall just a nice calming time listening to a bard sing and people coming closer together
I haven't seen anyone pointing this, but the way the "dwarf guy" at 3:49 connected his part with the pan lady's reactions is super cute. But in general, it's such a cute chain.
Yo, imagine a baroque style painting with all of these people and creatures in it toasting and singing with each other in harmony. That would be beautiful
hmmmm 🤔 there are canvases and acrylic paints next to me, I was thinking what to paint next.... and it seems now I know ✌😂 (sorry for my bad English 🙈🙈🙈)
First guy: Quietly enjoying the music. 1:42 That lettuce look like something extremely tasty. 2:17 The chef enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. 2:40 Vikings and pirates sharing the moment. 3:58 The ''Hi'' was perfect. 4:28 The over Drunk one. 5:44 Just a good atmosphere and good food. 6:10 That flirty stare in a healthy way. 10:00 *Casually pulling the arrow out of the body. LOL...Ouch. Edit: I automatically pictured myself enjoying life in this tavern with these people.🍻
The original artist of this song is my Tabaxi bard's voice claim. Hearing it in a busy tavern, where I can listen and imagine my girl playing her lute makes me so happy
Honestly I would love to hear more lyrics to this song cuz the way that the tavern chain just keeps getting better and better and I want the song to be longer and longer every time
I actually was really thinking about doing it, it'll take YEARS. But I wanna do it. And host DnD nights every Friday, and special days correlating to lesser-known holidays such as Samhain could be celebrated at the tavern. Travelers could come in their character's cosplay if they wanted honestly lol
Damn... I'm not sure why but this made me tear up a lil bit. Due to some life stuff I had to leave everything behind and go off on my own adventure alone. Out of state and across the country... I miss my dnd group cheers guys I miss you!
i’m tempted to get into cosplay, screen record this, and turn me into the bard who is singing- i haven’t done something like this in a while, it’d be good to do so-
I was absolutely LOVING this chain, smiling and starting to sing along - but about halfway through it I was overwhelmed and overcome by such nostalgic longing and sadness. All of these individuals just wanting to be a part of something, feeling like we BELONG. We as humans are generally now so disconnected from this type of camaraderie and companionship. This tavern atmosphere invokes such a warm and cozy feeling of togetherness. I think so many of us just miss and crave that shared community on such a core level. Comforting hugs to all my human family - cheers to us!
I just imagine that all these important figures in this fantasy world just came together and sang. Being at peace and awaiting the day that fate will giving these heroes their rightful glory.
Who is going to buy a chunk of land in Finland with me and turn it into our own fantasy world with a village and shops all run by people who live there and we all wear our cosplays all the time, will even have our own mini government and probably our own currency system. Anyone of any ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability/disability, or anything at all is welcome?
I work in a movie theatre, yesterday I put this song on in the main hall and everybody started to sing!!! And it was amazing, cause it was 300 persons going to the movies, entering a whole new world of fantasy for a bit, you know, and this song made everyone feel like a community, let's say!! Wonderful! ❤ Hurray for art, music, cinema, games, playing, writing, creating, inventing, painting, loving, feeling, speaking, sharing, living!!!
While everyone in this tavern is jus sing along to the wonderful bards...4 halflings on the run have a small item that could decide the fate of our peaceful lives and existence

Christianity appears a lot in medieval fantasy. You see them manifest as priests, clerks, and paladins. I often see churches with crucifixes in fantasy stories I see so it's plausible that a Christian song could be widespread in a medieval setting or community
Anemoia, a newly-proposed word meaning: a nostalgia for a time or place one has never known... This song is the definition of that word along with the clip.
I've always imagined these type of duets. As someone who likes the things in the past, I love their way of clothing, etiquette, architectures, etc. It's like traveling back to the past.
I really wish I had tik too just so I can do these. I love dragons and want to call myself “The Dragon Whisperer” since I know so much about them and how they act. This is a great opportunity to do that!
I'm imagining a medieval fantasy movie where someone like Sean Bean is giving main character energy by entering halfway through the song, seeking comfort of the locals after a hard and dangerous journey thus far.
I miss this time in tiktok, it was in a time of uncertainty and swinging on by the tiktok tavern was a nice break. From the asmr meal prep to the dude hiring warriors to the inn keeper rp.
believe it or not I used this song to introduce my first EVER bard character. Zenrith Godwind a half-elf bard noble wo left his home due to a homebrewed wear wolf curse that mixes the standard curse with the Irish folk lore of the wolf walker. Unlike...half his family Zenrith or Zen to his friends, was less the uptight high socitity type and more so a noble of the people. But you REALLY couldn't tell if he was a man or not by looking at him. He's the type to try and stop conflict with words and songs rather then swords and magic, but is willing to get his hand dirty if need be. For this song Zenrith played the lute while the parties cleric sang.
I wrote this little story about the way I imagined this (it's heavily inspired by this chain, but I changed up some things). Also, English isn't my first language, so be free to correct any of my mistakes. Tip: put this in google translate and let annoying robotic voice read it for you if you don't feel like reading. Enjoy! Close your eyes. Imagine. Summer night is breeze and quiet and, as you’re getting close to a small town surrounded by dark forest, all you hear is crickets and mysterious songs of the wind. Fireflies are hiding among old trees. In that dead hour, only lighted up building is a small tavern on the edge of the town, where dusty streets become animal paths. Tired from a long journey, you could use a break, so you decided to enter. When you opened a heavy wooden door, you’re greeted with warm yellow-ish atmosphere and smell of food and alcohol. Quiet chatter and clatter of dishes are only sounds to be heard. Barman is the only one to acknowledge your entrance with a quick stare. You take a few seconds to examine your surroundings. Around you are sitting creatures of all forms: elves, dwarfs, wizards, fairies, humans, pirates, anthropomorphic animals and even one old centaur. Shadows were playing on stone pillars and fireplace, as well as wooden chandeliers. You don’t have time to admire flickering of lanterns, in places like this one it’s best to keep low profile. You walk up to one of the tables randomly scattered around the room. Both the table and a chair are very old and made out of wood with visible claw marks on them. Even though atmosphere seems as warm as freshly baked bread on the tables, there’s something menacing about the way guests spare glances at each other. No one comes to a place like this for no reason, and you never know who can attack. Only ones faintly talking are the ones that came together. As you take a closer look, you notice how everyone’s keeping a weapons withing reach, some even fidgeting with them, ready to defend if necessary. As you wait for a winged waitress girl to come with your order, you hear a your hooded woman nearby humming a familiar melody that fills you with nostalgia. You remember legend older people in your village use to tell you and the other kids. In that legend, people from many different sides in a long and bloody war came together to celebrate a great holiday and they made a song as a reminder of that night when all hope seems lost. A traveling salesman hears well known song as well so he pulls out his guitar and starts playing along. Young woman gives him a surprised smile before starting to sing louder. More and more faces turn towards them, still with a little bit of caution on them. As you sit in a corner, you are able to see everyone in the tavern turning towards the woman, who was now singing loud in her clear and harmonic voice. All faces filled with some kind of happiness that seemed lost just few moments ago, as they were all sharing much softer looks of mutual understandment. When chorus came, not too long ago quiet room was now filled with song from many mouths as every person joyfully sang, some stomping their legs and clapping to the rhythm. When music finally stopped, room was silent once again, but just for a moment because then everyone started loudly cheering and clapping. Rest of that night was filled with warm flicker of fire as well as laughter and loud chatter of guest, that were now a little less of a strangers.
Ik this is like an year old but like i wanted to write someone realted to this, sorry if there are any errors, english is not my first language Xanon dragged Ajax into the Tavern, smiling at the Bartender, he said "I'll have the usual, and get him some of that too '' he gestured towards the other, the Bartender smiled at the pair, "still causing trouble Xan?" He asked, "one day, Ajax is going to give you a good beating" he joked, "oh, he'd never" Xanon gasped dramatically, "he loves me too much" he said throwing Ajax a flirty look, the other said nothing and just scoffed at his behavior, The Bartender laughed "make yourselves comfortable", "Thank you" Ajax said shortly before following Xanon, who had already left to find a good seat. Soon the two sat down opposite to each other sipping their drinks, Xanon looked around, there sure were some interesting folks around today, he had already spotted a couple of elves, some pirates, someone who appeared to be a satyr, some lovely warrior ladies, a knight and so many other different people. Suddenly the bard started playing a tune, a familiar tune, he doubted there was anyone in these lands who didn't know this song. A lady, with hair the color of the moon, walked in, and started singing along with the bard "There will come a soldier Who carries a mighty sword He will tear your city down Oh lei, oh lai, oh, Lord" The entire Tavern joined in, even Ajax hummed along "Oh lei, oh lai, oh lei, oh, Lord He will tear your city down Oh lei, oh lai, oh lei, oh, Lord" Cheers could be heard coming from everywhere, people were laughing, singing, dancing along the tune. Moments like these really made Xanon appreciate the world more, no doubt that everyone here was completely different from each other, even he and Ajax who spend almost every moment together were as different as the night is from day. But music, music tied them all together, it really knew no bounds. Hope you liked it, i dont know if the second girl had silver hair or blonde, it looks silver in the lighting so i just wrote hair the colour of moon
