In January 1992 Simply Red set off on tour. They had just released their 4th album “Stars”. In the 14 months that followed, they played 131 shows to 1.5 million people and sold 9 million albums around the world.
This mini-documentary accompanies the film 'A Starry Night with Simply Red’ - a full Simply Red concert performed in Hamburg at the peak of their success on their 1992 sell-out tour. It features exclusive interviews with Mick, the band and other special guests, discussing iconic Simply Red tracks and musical influences, life on the road, and the band's extraordinary rise to fame. Paired with live performance clips from the 1992 tour, this documentary sheds light on the enduring popularity of one of the world’s most successful bands.

Incredible interview! I've recently become obsessed with Simply Red and Mick. The "Stars" album was released a couple of years before I was born. Many of his songs remind me of UB40 in rhythm and lyrics but I prefer his artistic expression for sure. It seems so effortless and natural. I'm a lover of many genres and eras of music, but they speak to me on a different level. It's amazing how many of their songs I've heard over the years only to realise it's a Simply Red song!
