Got to 2.42 and thought - yeah this guy IS WIERD. Songs/music are great. Was told 2 first hand stories about him that werent great about how he treats people.
So glad Mick recognized he had a problem that needed fixing- It would be shame to lose such a great talent. And Human Being. We've already lost too many to drugs and drinking...Keep going Mick, you've got millions pulling for you!!!!

I remember sitting in the car, when I heard simply red for the first time. Micks voice touched my soul and I couldn't get enough of his music. I was lucky to see him life in a concert in the 90s in Abu Dhabi. He was amazing. What a beautiful and humble human being!! First time I see him in an interview. Still love him and his music!!

Wowww I love their music so much and Mick’s voice is incredible. This interview gave me so much more respect for him. He wrote ‘Holding back the years’ at age 17!! That is amazing, back then he was already an old soul.

"Stars" was playing softly in the background when this guy I was going out with, asked me to be his girl, in 1991. We've three sons now and been married twenty-five and a half years. Hello Will! Agree, they are fantastic live! Can I ask you: did you feel comfortable going to a concert now that we still have Omicron around? I want to go and see him at the O2 this weekend but feel uneasy about sitting down for two hours with 20k people (even If I wear a mask). How was the experience for you?
@@PedroCaiado hi, I was a little cautious at first, however, the venue imo had very good ventilation, I also feel I have done all I can to minimize risk with my own health inc. vax, and boost jabs. And lastly we only have one life and experiences are important. To look back on and to feel connected. So go to the O2. Enjoy and take all the precautions you want. But do take the chance to see not just a great singer but also to feel a connection with all the rest of the audience it is a major part to see how similar we all are.

I agree with you. This interview was like a chat between two ordinary people. I loved this, the life story of Mick, how he is humble, simple and a gentleman.
I'm a fan of Simply Red since my childhood and now I'm more fan of them than ever.
He did his homework. Along with the videos it provided an excellent timeline. A wonderful artist and very thoughtful about his life journey.
This is a really great interview. The Brazilian (and non-English speaking) media (in general) always ask the best questions of Mick and you get a much more interesting and sympathetic interview. Thank you.

I’m 42 and I’m so glad to have known his music. When I was 21 I moved to Abingdon (Oxford ) and for a long time simple red was the only music I was choosing in the music box of the pubs !

Every album of simply red were the tracks of my life at that time, saw me through love, heartache and tough times, i play their music and it takes me right back, whats lovely is that mick is such a nice man and is a credit to his father who raised him alone, my daugjter remembers hearimg simply red in the car when she was a small child, shes married with children and still loves their music, its classic, timeless and relatable, keep doing what you do Mick, love you ❤️

Really nice interview and good to know the background of his songs. I still remember seeing Mick in the early 90's at Manchester Oxford Rd train station. I did a double take but he is very recognisable.

What a talent. What a human being.
Watching this is very touching as life is a struggle for everyone in various ways. We all too often take our lives for granted until we put ourselves in someone else's shoes and realize what they've gone through... what it took to get them where they are. Mick is very open and honest... a rare gift in itself. For many years i've wanted to find that level of success but after hearing him speak i realize how good life's been to me as i was adopted by two loving parents and have one sister and we both have achieved a good level of success over the years but often i've wanted more. I literally play every instrument in the book and can't even read music but listening to this interview teaches one to put aside his pride ans realize how hard some struggle for what they have. My measure of success comes from deep within by my love and caring for others along my journey. Mick deserves this far more than myself as he didn't have much growing up and one can't even imagine what it's like having only one parent and no siblings. I was blessed as a child... had far more than my fair share but never ever in the back of mind stopped thinking about others who had less. This man has more character than most and GOD has truly blessed him in many ways. Good interview and personally my thoughts are that he's a good inspiration to others who have it hard that they too can find what they seek in life and not give up! ...He's far more deserving than myself... oh and love his songs. Very touching to say the least. Good job with this interview!!!!

Первый раз увидела Simply Red в 1985 году. Было необычно увидеть в СССР такую группу. Училась на 3 курсе института. В рыжего Мика влюбилась тут же. К сожалению, был один клип Something got me started ( возможно ошибаюсь в названии). Но это была бомба. Потом как-то всё успокоилось. Но недавно в рекомендациях ютюб появился опять Мик с этим клипом. И всё! Пересмотрела все его концерты , создала себе несколько плейлистов, пересмотрела много его интервью. Мик Хакнелл не только замечательный певец, артист, музыкант, он , как мне показалось из интервью , хороший, думающий , не пустой человек. Каждый день слушаю его песни. Жаль, что время так не добро обходится с людьми. Но голос ! Потрясающий бархатный голос - жив!

Thank you for this amazing interview to one of the best voice I ever heard in my life. I love Mick he is so simple really and friendly. I love him so much. I saw him at the beginning in Milan in 1985 and now I will be seeing again in December 2022 in Padova on the 15th ... honestly I can't wait! His voice is enchanting and his songs are magic to me.
Mick Hucknall said that, as he has not a mother, he doesn't know how to respond, he is not expressive and he doesn't know how to communicate. Rather, I am of the view that he possesses very good communication skills in terms of speaking. He speaks clearly, with a good choice of words and at an appropriate pace. I am not a native English speaker but I can understand 99%, if not 100%, of what he said. I wish he was my unseen dictation teacher.
I agree. But I think when you grow up without using communication, it can make you more introspective. Then, when you get older, you express yourself well.
