I'm going to try it. I recently did a 3-day water fast for chronic dermatitis on my face, and the results were excellent, except for one stubborn red patch on one cheek. Since you have mentioned inflammation, the dry fast sounds right for me. My husband is out of town next week and I can quietly try it. When I mentioned the water fast to my family, they were unsupportive and worried. Fasting seems to be best done in solitude and without comment.
I agree. I mentioned i do fasting to my wife and she looked horrified, like I was gonna die of starvation. Fasting for 24 hours is not easy for most people so they freak out about it.
@@youtoo2233 yes I've found just doing it without "comment" has built my confidence greatly. Afterall I'm not asking for permission and the results now speak loudly for me. I've had many family and friends now asking my advice on eating etc. Keep doing what works for you and let your health improvements speak for you 🙋♀️💛🇦🇺

I’m not a doctor so do not take this as gospel but I’ve routinely dry fasted for three days at a time and had fantastic results in regards to healing autoimmune conditions, fatty liver and kidney pain and T2D. I know many others have dry fasted for longer with no ill affects. That said, know your body and be safe. Thanks for an informative video Mindy!
Same here. No hunger during a dry fast. NONE AT ALL! When I did OMAD I would get hunger pangs at times. The hunger was the same with 1 meal every other day.
I've just finished my 72 hrs hard dry fast and I'm still alive. I didn't exercise, i rested, read a lot, listened to audio books, no TV, decreased engagement with many people to reset peaceful mind. I'm going on towards 7 days dry fast.
I just completed a 72-hour soft dry fast this week and I'm alive and well. First 2 days were cake, but the last 24 hours were a little tough. Lost 12 pounds and feel great. Broke with some coconut water and water throughout the day. Ate some watermelon and broth the next day and started eating solid food on the 3rd day. I'm thinking about doing it once a month.
Started this health journey about four months ago and learning every day. What I've realized is that through millions of years of evolution we are engineered to eat whenever there is food. The last 100 years have made things worst because of artificial food... sugars, carbs, etc. It's accelerating the decline of us as a species and drug and food companies love it! Currently I am in maintenance mode at about 12.5% body fat, play tennis, basketball and golf at a high level again at 50 yrs old. Fasting is truly God's gift to us.... unfortunately we have lost our way due to drug and food companies.
Congratulations on your success! The "food and drug companies" do not walk you down the aisle and tell you what to buy. Health is our own responsibility and always has been. If consumers stop buying crap they will stop making it.
You can go more than 24 hrs without water or food. I’m on day 4 and feel amazing!! So much energy. Everyone is different. Listen to your body!!! If you feel bad, get off the fast asap!
Today I am breaking a three day fast. The first day was a dry fast, and I want to say this was a more successful fast. My head felt clearer and I was less hungry.
I did a 2 day water fast followed by a 5 day hard dry fast then a 2 day juice cleanse. Lost 22 lbs in that 9 day period. Was 12% bf 202 lbs day1 180 and lean as can be 9 days later. Other than sleeplessness and being a bit tired no sides.
Oddly enough, I find it much easier to do a dry fast than a water fast. My favorite is a three day dry fast. It’s long enough to feel like I’ve reset my body and done some deep cleaning, but not so long that I get too dehydrated or have trouble transitioning back. The morning of the third day, I start drinking water and get rehydrated, then I eat my meal, so it’s a 72 hour fast from food, and maybe a 66 hour fast from water. Thanks for all the great videos and info, and for all your awesome energy!
ayesha akbar .. good question, for me I do my fast at work. I’m busy all day, so no time to eat or drink, so I don’t think about it. When I’m off .. again I do something that keeps my mind focused on it .. like reading, drawing or watching a vid. Sometimes I do stretches and a light workout .. just listen to what the body feels.vs what the mind wants. The emotions are toxic .. they are all comfort and fear and entertainment. They can be quieted though. Before I know it, it’s bed time. The only thing I actually notice is dry mouth and lips, but that comes and goes. My energy is so good, I don’t feel the need to eat, that’s when you start to see the pattern thinking of when to eat isn’t real. It’s a choice. Your mind gets sharper to. Hope that helps.
Phuong Nguyen in my experience dry fasting feels like results happen faster .. even more intense the first couple of times, after that, the intensity is way less, and I feel like my body feels great. Water feels great, but not as intense... like it takes a bit longer to reach the same feel. So for me dry fasting is better, but I still do both .. I feel it’s important to be flexible and not rigid with health.
Phuong Nguyen .. try 1 day, if that feels good, do another, then maybe another... Ive only done up to 5 days, each day feels better than the last .. I do it when I’m working so I stay busy and time flies by.
Phuong Nguyen I make my workout a HIIT workout. BUT I don’t push so hard that I sweat intensely. When I start breathing hard and start to get hot to sweat - I stop. Cool down, then repeat. Try that about 3-4 times. That works good, then again each day, or every other day .. gotta listen to your body .. push it, but not too hard. Be nice to your body : )
I’m 15hrs into my first dry fast. So far all is good. I’m not hungry and my body is intuitively telling me no food or water. Thanks for the video, I know for this one I won’t go over 24hrs
I am today on my 5th day of a soft dry fast. At the moment I am meditating in the mountains of Hollywell 🇯🇲. The intention was to complete a 1o day spiritual fast of 5 days soft dry and 5 days water only... am so looking forward to the result. But for now I feel amazing energized not hungry, good prana to sustain me. Gonna be back at work tomorrow to begin the water segment which will include lots of cocnut water, blk coffee and mineral water... wish me luck👍
I have been doing dry fasting for 2 days and lose 5 kg weight . And today is 3rd day going on . I feel very light energetic and fresh. Simultaneously feel some weakness some time . My weight was 95.7 kg And after 2 days dry fasting 90.2 kg . It has amazing result . And 3rd day is continue Thanks
Would love more videos on dry fasting..? It’s so easy to fast this way just putting nothing in mouth is so easy rather than drinking water I suddenly feel starving from the water
I have done soft dry fasting for a week and I lost around 1.5 kg each day and i lost around 11 kg in total. I noticed during the hydration process that my body started to retain water aggressively so I think you should take it easy and drink small portion of water the first few hours to reduce water retention. I have lost around 6.5 kg of body fat which is around 13 pounds and the rest of the weight was water that i retained back after hydrating.
@@happycamper4483 can dry fasting cause kidney failure ? I did one 45 hour dry fast months ago , and will probably never do it again, but im wondering if it damaged my kidneys ?
I’ve dry fasted several times for 48hrs and felt amazing. I live in the dry desert & stay indoors while i do this, will go to gym but not sweat too much and fine going to work as well. It’s funny because i do get thirsty but at the 48hr mark I’ll have a normal sized dinner and about 12-20oz of water at most. As a vegetarian what i eat is already high in water content. Pretty healthy overall and just do this to “clean up the system”. I do IF most days 20-24hrs so this is not too big of a deal for me. It is very important to know your body however. Thanks Mindy, your videos are so informative in covering all the different ways one can fast and what happens in our bodies.

There is research that exists on longer dry fasts~ 7-11 days to heal many diseases, tested on thousands of individuals by 2 Russian doctors, in depth info can be found in the book “The Phoenix Code.” Just found your channel, such great resources here, thank you for sharing!
I have 12 hours left in my 72 hour dry fast and I feel incredible. I feel sharper in mind and I feel suprisingly energetic. I even ran 2km when I was 48 hours in as I just felt so good. I've lost about 2kg a day and urinated the nastiest toxic looking substance ever. It's not for everyone but it can work with the correct mindset.
Finishing a 5 day soft fast in an hour. Worked up to it by doing 24, 48, 72, and so on. I do them often. Once or twice a month. Feel great. Im type 1 diabetic. Its nice going days without using insulin. Blood sugar and a1c are the best they have been in 25 years. #snakediet look into it.
I am currently doing ADF 3 days a week, using that 36-hour fast to dry fast. I feel my best when I dry fast. My skin looks more “glowy” and clear. Your body naturally wants to eat cleaner, healthier food when you fast. I have also added doing a 72-hour dry fast each month.
Thats not a dry fast, that is an intermittent fast - A dry fast means no water/no food for 24 hrs - from dawn to sunset but everyone is eating before the sun rises and after it sets so it is intermittent and not a dry fast.
Hi I'm new here, but I was reading the comments and wanted to chime in. I recently did a five-day soft dry fast before I knew it was unhealthy to do so! I felt great! My joints stopped hurting, and the brain fog was totally gone. Maybe it was fine for me because I have so much weight to lose. I need to lose about 60 lbs. I'm starting another dryfast today, but I'll keep them at three days for safety.
Now one can often hear that one day of dry fasting is as effective as three days of water fasting, but no one cites the primary source of this information. the first to make this statement was Dr. Khoroshilov in 1994.
As a Muslim I regularly "dry fast" (we also fast from other things as well during this time) during Ramadan and for other religious reasons. We normally have what we call sahoor (the meal before fasting) and we do this before the sun comes up, because we start our fast at Fajr (when you can see the white line across the horizon) and we break our fast at Maghrib (when the sun fully goes past the horizon). I think this is why intermittent fasting is so easy for me, because we can drink water. I don't get headaches with the water fasting, nor do I feel sluggish and lethargic like I can during dry fasting (especially the first few days). I live in Egypt and with the heat and sweating, hydrating is very, very important. You see many people collapse who have to be out in the heat, and sadly when they do break their fast, they don't do it very healthy here. So incorporate my dry fasting with the intermittent fasting by just drinking water before dawn and drinking water at sundown to break my fast and then just continue with my intermittent fast that I was working on.
your ramadan is not even fasting abdoool. stop claiming. what sahoor?????? the purpose of fasting is not only stop eating but to control your own eating window. slow
if you don't have studies, why say "your body wasn't meant for..."? I've done 4 seven day dry fasts and dozens of three days fasts alone and with others. I've only seen problems when someone was on a dehydrating medication. I've found the 36 hour my favorite, but more have been helpful when I needed deeper healing.
My inspiration to dry fast came from my sons reading The Phoenix Protocol -Dr. August Dunning. I don't see you commenting on the stem cell benefits. Also my understanding of autophagy is different than your comment relating it to toxins. Autophagy as I express it is when most of the primary food choices are depleted and you dig to the back of the refrigerator and cupboards for food. The body breaks down defunct cell and organelles for amino acid sources. It's like the bodies trash truck making the rounds.
Dr Mindy is simply awesome! Been fasting for 15 years and never thought of a dry fast - thanks to Dr Mindy I just completed my first 24 hr dry fast - the last 3 hr was tough tough tough , but thanks to Dr Mindy’s information I was motivated to power through - many many thanks Dr Mindy
As I'm watching this video I'm in my 60th hr. On a 72 hr. 11 1/2 to go! I'm taking things ssd's slow. Not talking, notification of. I let close family & friends know. I'm ok! I'm watching and listening to my body. I know it's chronic. By I also have some chronic situations that I am dealing with. Thanks for your valuable information Dr. Mindy!😊🤗💛
@@DrMindyPelz can dry fasting cause kidney failure ? I did one 45 hour dry fast months ago , and will probably never do it again as my doctor advised against it, but im wondering if it damaged my kidneys ?
I spent a day making sure I drank the recommended amount of water via my body weight (which I'm bad @) before starting my 24hr dry fast (no water contact one). I actually felt great & didnt get thirsty until 20hrs into it. I ended it before bed by drinking a 1C of water but I got muscle cramps (Charlie horse's) like I used to as a kid. Then I remembered what you said about the salt. So I ate 1tsp of salt and drank 1c of water & it went away in like 5/10min after doing that & I slept well through the night. I do plan to do it again. Next time I think I will sandwich it between a mineral filled water fast and see what happens.
Many thanks for this vid. I watched a couple of scientific vids on dry fasting last year, and would you believe, like you, I can't find them now. When I've finished the rest of this vid, I will do a thorough search.

I ran of water bottles yesterday. I couldn't be bothered to fill a container for my workday. I ended up unwittingly dry fasting until the evening and I did notice my inflammation from my psoriatic arthritis was almost all gone.
I was watching a Today Show clip .. the doctor who was the guest dismissed dry fasting as a fad and said it was dangerousand the hosts started laughing and ridiculing dry fasting.... zero research and zero facts....So shameful that something so helpful is shunned by the MSM
Dr mindy! Love your videos.. u asked for our experience? I did with a group (ray maor) in phoenix a three day dry fast.. with the group and daily activities it was quite easy and super beneficial.. but yes I lost about 20 lbs! I’m 5’8 and weighed 135 came out 114 a little much for me.! I think two days alone is best
Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback! It's amazing to hear about the positive impact of the three-day dry fast and the benefits you experienced. Every individual's body and preferences are unique, so it's great that you found that two days alone work best for you. Keep listening to your body and adapting your fasting routine accordingly.
I’ve done it 36 hours or more. Personally I found it easier. Body can make its own water. And if you’re on keto and it’s primed for fat burning? You’re literally burning off fat to create water.
Brent J nonsense. Of course it works. Again, how do you think the body makes water? Burns body fat. Which means the fast is much faster than with water. AND it helps a lot with hunger. Experts aren’t always right about 100% of things
Brent J sure. Then go ahead and explain why I’m wrong. Go on. Or do you just listen and repeat things? Experts are never wrong, after all. Every aspect of everything they know, is 100% correct
Brent J LOL oh really? Did you miss the parts of my comments where I explained how it works? Because I sure as hell missed the parts where you explained how it doesn’t work. I came here to discuss something I’ve experienced and gave reasons why. And your argument was nothing but a logical fallacy of appealing to authority. You didn’t even bother to explain why, and I doubt you even know. You just know enough, to tell me someone says I’m wrong.
Brent J Lol seriously? Do a dry fast. Stop looking for experts or studies. After 2 days of STILL peeing, come and tell me how the body doesn’t produce its own water. By the way. Not dark yellow pee. But normal colored pee. With zero fluid intake of any kind. Must be magic huh? No. You breath in oxygen. Your body burns fat, which releases hydrogen. Which creates H2O. It’s a super simple to understand process. Did you also know, that the majority of weight loss, is actually out your mouth? Just as the majority of a trees bulk comes from air. All these things might not sound logical, and yet they are true.
Brent J but if you’re really interested, with your condescending quotations about something you clearly have no understanding about. Google metabolic water. It’s been studied for decades.
Dr. Mindy, just for your information, since last 1440 years, Muslims practice dry fasting from Dawn to Dusk every day for 30 days every year as mandatory. And also two days a week ( Mondays and Thursdays) in other 11 months of the year upon ones choice. The benefits are also described in Holy Quran. Please read it. Also there is chapter in Holy Quran about details of growth of fetus in mothers womb.
@7:40 minute. We do have research that shows what occurs post 24hrs up to 10 days during and after dry fasting. The data is in August Dunnings book "The Phoenix protocol: dry fasting for rapid healing and radical life extension.
I've done dry fasting couple of times, and limited to 15 hs, great experience. About water fasting, I've completed 36 hs this week, feel great but could never reached the 48 hs landmark. Kind of frustrate, but know that excess of (good) carbs is my fault. Will try keto diet and then push again.
10.20.21 At 4min 40sec your #1 reason And for me ➡️ “Lower Inflammation” Oh my god, this helps, yes! I’m on DAY 2. I did 15hrs, 8Pm-11Am “Dry Fast” 🚫food water was Easy! Then18 hrs 6Pm-thru12Pm was DONE also😊 1St day: I slept better. 2nd Day: my hair looks full, healthier.
hi mindy.. i know you talked about 7 types of fasting methods before... but what about alternate day fasting? is it something you dont recommend? thank you for all your fantastic videos btw !
Today I finished 22 hours of dry fasting. A week ago I did 24 hours of dry fasting. It felt ok, although at one moment it felt a little bit harsh mentally wise. But that's one of the hurdles I want to overcome.
Just got blood works done and the results show I'm no longer type2 diabetic but my colostrol is elevated, probably due to my low carb approach to eating. I included a ton of fasting the last few years and I have had amazing results. Interesting that Dr mindy mentioned how dry fasting can ballance colostrol. I'm going down this route before taking my Dr's advice and going on a statan.
I get there are no studies proving that it is exactly 3 times more beneficial than water fasting. However, wouldn’t it be common sense that it is more beneficial? I don’t think I need a study to prove that to me.
Our church annually dry fast in the month of October for 3 days I have never had a problem but my cousin always threw up on day 2. Everyone is different. You have to see what works for you.
It's so funny because I've been hard, dry-fasting my entire adult life and didn't realize it. I often/usually go out to dinner on Friday nights and then stay up late. Then I wake up late on Saturday morning and am not hungry or thirsty so I go directly into my reading or work in my office. I've never forced myself to eat or drink if I don't feel like it. While working, I get so engaged with what I'm doing that I don't come up for air until dinner time. So I end up dry-fasting for 24-hours, from Friday night to Saturday night without even trying. If I live with other people, that gets disrupted of course and if someone else is cooking then the smells wafting from the kitchen and the fellowship tempt me in but left to my own devices, I naturally have always dry-fasted that way. I'm 51 and it's only been in the last year that I learned dry-fasting was a thing. I really don't think a 24-hour dry fast is too long at all. I think it's pretty natural and healthy. I've always felt good and I can imagine going another day or so couldn't hurt. I probably wouldn't go more than a couple of days without drinking though.
This shit is just a fad like veganism, eventually you get problems later on in life. I've heard someone say that too much autophagy does lead to growth of tumours. I suppose moderation is the key
Btw Dr. Pelz, I clearly remember Thomas DeLauer saying in one of his videos that 1 day dry fast is equal to 3 days fluid fast. Don’t know/ can’t remember whether he had a research back up for this statement ... but perhaps this might be a starting point to get deeper insights?
This might be based on people's personal experiences. They might have achieved benefits with one day of dry fast that they could with three days of water fast
Dr DeLauer is only citing Ramadan studies. Those prove nothing other than that fasting in general is good for you. They don't have a control group and so are incapable of showing that dry is better than with water or even that dry my be harmful. Also, sunup to sundown isn't really a big deal if you chug a bunch of liquids on either end of that time window. This is NOT evidence. There is no evidence.
I have just been diagnosed with Diabetes and will try a 24 hour dry fast...For starters. Thanks for making your awesome videos Dr Mindy, I also have your book ' Fast like a girl'.
As far as I know, Muslims are fasting for a month dry fasting from the dawn till the sunset, they get the first meal and drinks at sunset then they have another meal before the dawn, they do this for a month per year. How good is it?
The body generates it's own water, so a one day dry fast once per week will give your organs a break, kidneys too, and heal your body. Helps speed up weight loss too. I'm down from 307 to 270, goal is 200, trying to lose about 2 lbs per week
I blew my mind when I did a soft dry fast for 5 days while working(in the heat) and going to the gym daily PLUS 30 minutes to an hour in a dry sauna. I felt amazing, the best I've ever felt! I ending the fast still feeling wonderful.
Be safe, monitor vitals or whatever. Awesome! Sounds like a Lb/Day will come off. Did u have extra reserves10-30 Lbs? Today 10.20.21 11Mos since What has improved in time? What is goal weight?
Check with your doctor whenever you want to change your eating pattern especially if you have to cronically take some meds, i'm a medical student and I learnt and saw that some drugs MUST be taken in combination with food/water/fatty oils or won't work or could even give bad effects (damaging your body in both cases) Once you are sure that those meds are compatible with an empty and/or dry digestive trait then you can of course benefit from intermittent fasting :) To be sure always check your blood and urine every few months, that helps A LOT to keep track of how your body is responding to what you are ingesting :) (English is not my first language, sorry for any grammatical mistake)
The book "The Phoenix protocol" by August Dunning speaks to the cells' ability to endogenously produce their own h2o. Therefore, water diets (fasting = abstention) can be counterproductive in many cases.
You were asking about studies and research on dry fasting....have you seen the book by Dr. Sergei Ivanovich Filonov...he has 25 years of experience in this. :)
If I look at your vid detailing fasting benefits by hour clearly 1 day dry fast == 3 days water fast is backed by the research you just quoted: Research was on dry fasting 12-24 hrs, benefits BDNF was on second day, lowering inflammation was on third day in water fast
We Muslims imposed on us fasting in Ramadan 30 days ranging from 16 hours to 20 hours a day and for 30 days starts fasting from dawn to sunset and we feel great benefit physically and spiritually .. If fasting was not useful to what God imposed on us In this way, there is no food from sunrise until sunset for 30 continuous days ... So our fasting method is even if it is not in Ramadan ...
Yes, it is very useful ... In Islam we have a full month of fasting during the year ... During the week we have two days Monday and Thursday and in the month we have three days which are 13, 14 and 15 and they are fixed days we have recommended by God and the Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they bring us benefit with certainty physically and spiritually ... And to know our fasting is to refrain from eating and drinking together from sunrise until sunset ... And I confirm here that it is very healthy mentally and physically .... I hope this is useful information for everyone
I thank you from the bottom of my heart ... as you give people useful knowledge ... and give them a helping hand with your knowledge ... We appreciate that ...
@Embrace Diversity.... We are talking here about fasting, whether with or without water, and whether it is dangerous if it is prolonged, and I have answered the question through the teachings of Islam, not through the experiences of Muslims ... Ultimately, Muslims are human beings, some of whom have a healthy system, and some of them who are unhealthy. We do not have the right to classify people according to their religions, but to learn from each other's religions and take what is beneficial for all of us.

muslims has bn doing fasting since 600 a.d. ....... but hindus r doing this since 5000 b.c. ........ every religion has custom of fasting ....... so there is nothing special and new in islam.
@Embrace Diversity So much for embracing diversity! I'm from Central Asia and our population is at most 5% obese. Majority of the population are thin. They get shocked to see the obese obroad. So dont put all Muslims in a box. Yes, there are some that don't utilize fasting the way it was meant to be. That doesn't mean ALL muslims do it.
I believe Dr. Filanov indicated that once a patient reached the state of what we call ketosis the exponential benefits of 24hrs of dry fasting seemed to be equivalent to 72hrs of water fasting. This doesn't suggest that dry fasting produces an accelerated arrival to ketosis. For example, 36 hours of water fasting to reach ketosis followed by 36hrs of dry fasting to conclude at 72 hours before resuming water/electrolyte intake followed by food. Furthermore, extended fasts could alternate between 24hrs dry with 24hrs of water.
I like starting out with a dry fast for at least the first 24 hours. I find dry fasting can be easier than water fasting in the beginning because the water makes me want to eat more. Depending how I feel after 24 hours I keep going on the dry fast or I might drink some water with a little bit of sea salt if I feel I need for it. The interesting thing with that is after taking the salt water it fills me up and I can easily keep going. I recently did 3 1/2 days dry fast. The most I have done is 4 days. Though sometimes I convert my dry fast to a water fast depending on how I feel.
I grew up dry fasting for 24 hours on the first Sunday of each month starting at age 8. (The age of accountability) Then we are to give the equivalent of the cost of missed meals to help the poor. This is the practice of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Same here!! Growing up fasting has prepared me to do more and the benefits are amazing! I’m 69 and still reverse aging and have had good health now for 5 years!!
Your article talks about fasting preventing osteoporosis by stimulating parathyroid hormone. The function of parathyroid hormone is to maintain blood calcium levels, and it does that (partly) by taking it from the bone. Its increase is not seen as a good sign of bone health, so I'm curious about your conclusion.
I'm going to try it. I recently did a 3-day water fast for chronic dermatitis on my face, and the results were excellent, except for one stubborn red patch on one cheek. I didn't exercise, i rested, read a lot, listened to audio books, no TV, decreased engagement with many people to reset peaceful mind. I'm going on towards 7 days dry fast.
So awesome- thank you for sharing 💙
7 days dry fast ????is it safe?
@@bourjoism3917 72hrs is 3 days
Did you work up to it by doing shorter fasts or no?
@@noxy2007 I've done a 7 day dry fast before everyone should experience it.
Evolution is fake news.
Wow nice man glad to hear it thanks for the imform 💪
Congratulations on your success! The "food and drug companies" do not walk you down the aisle and tell you what to buy. Health is our own responsibility and always has been. If consumers stop buying crap they will stop making it.
You nailed it
God does include fasting in the Bible. 👀🙏📖😊💒
You can go more than 24 hrs without water or food. I’m on day 4 and feel amazing!! So much energy. Everyone is different. Listen to your body!!! If you feel bad, get off the fast asap!
No one should do a 4-day dry fast (nil by mouth). Wholly irresponsible advice. Shut up

I’m dry fasting for 36 hours now and aiming for 72, it’s no big deal, I can go to the store any time to drink water if need be
Today I am breaking a three day fast. The first day was a dry fast, and I want to say this was a more successful fast. My head felt clearer and I was less hungry.
I like the idea of starting the fast dry and then adding water makes sense 👍

I have dry fasted for 3 days for spiritual reasons. The feeling after was truly amazing.
I just finished a 3 day dry fast (2 Hard , 1 Soft) , I like it better than water fasting. Definitely recommend it (just my opinion)
I have hard dry fasted from 3-5 days at a time. Always feel sharper in mind and body. It is awesome.
ayesha akbar .. good question, for me I do my fast at work.
Phuong Nguyen easily .. plus light workouts and stretching .. coming off the fast is important to remember
@tauqilla Thanks for sharing! I'm reading the reviews of his book on Amazon.
Did you add electrolytes or minerals ( like Trace Minerals) to the water you drank after breaking your fast? A lot of people drink bone broth.
You gotta add electrolytes or just eat plenty of watery fruit
You are going to damage your kidneys. That's why the doctor said not too many studies are done after 24 hours of dry fasting.

We do ramadhan which is a soft dry fast for 30 consecutive days from about dawn to sunset which is around 16 hours now

I Love dry fasting I do it twice a month every two weeks for 24 hours 😊👍
What exactly do you do after using the bathroom? How do you sanitize your hands?
what is the benefits?
How does dry fasting affect children and should children under a certain age fast?
Why do you do it? How have you benefited in other ways other than weight loss.

So incorporate my dry fasting with the intermittent fasting by just drinking water before dawn and drinking water at sundown to break my fast and then just continue with my intermittent fast that I was working on.
your ramadan is not even fasting abdoool. stop claiming. what sahoor?????? the purpose of fasting is not only stop eating but to control your own eating window. slow
I've done 3 days dry with no problems. In fact I do better without the water! But that's just me. Thanks for the info Doc.
if you don't have studies, why say "your body wasn't meant for..."? I've done 4 seven day dry fasts and dozens of three days fasts alone and with others. I've only seen problems when someone was on a dehydrating medication. I've found the 36 hour my favorite, but more have been helpful when I needed deeper
healing.
Wondered the same, she wants to rely on research to say it out loud on RUclips.... I'm on hour 36 and counting. Aim is 7 days ...
Thanks!! I haven't heard of that book.

Today I finished 22 hours of dry fasting. A week ago I did 24 hours of dry fasting. It felt ok, although at one moment it felt a little bit harsh mentally wise. But that's one of the hurdles I want to overcome.
Keep up the good work Carlos.
I did a 7 day soft dry fast. Showers and swimming. PNW, so a cool humid environment, wouldn't do it during a hot summer.
Btw Dr. Pelz, I clearly remember Thomas DeLauer saying in one of his videos that 1 day dry fast is equal to 3 days fluid fast. Don’t know/ can’t remember whether he had a research back up for this statement ... but perhaps this might be a starting point to get deeper insights?
ruclips.net/video/jx-ecGL0nVg/видео.html
Tiziana Barbara He has the research, he always has the research and science hahahahaha

So I could take my meds early, say 6 am, and dry fast till 9 pm when other meds are due. That would be beneficial?
I have had similar questions liek what the minimum time for a dry fast is for it to matter etc
Sure. Any length of fast is a success. It would be an Intermittent Fast.
Check with your doctor whenever you want to change your eating pattern especially if you have to cronically take some meds, i'm a medical student and I learnt and saw that some drugs MUST be taken in combination with food/water/fatty oils or won't work or could even give bad effects (damaging your body in both cases)
Once you are sure that those meds are compatible with an empty and/or dry digestive trait then you can of course benefit from intermittent fasting :)
To be sure always check your blood and urine every few months, that helps A LOT to keep track of how your body is responding to what you are ingesting :)
(English is not my first language, sorry for any grammatical mistake)
The book "The Phoenix protocol" by August Dunning speaks to the cells' ability to endogenously produce their own h2o. Therefore, water diets (fasting = abstention) can be counterproductive in many cases.

Hi on the replay! Going to try the water fast next week ❤
Read Dr. Filanovs work, 25 year pioneer of dry fasting, says that 3 days of dry fasting is equivalent to 1 day of water fasting.
Susy Reread your statement. You mean the other way around
Lol WOOPS
I believe Dr. Filanov indicated that once a patient reached the state of what we call ketosis the exponential benefits of 24hrs of dry fasting seemed to be equivalent to 72hrs of water fasting. This doesn't suggest that dry fasting produces an accelerated arrival to ketosis. For example, 36 hours of water fasting to reach ketosis followed by 36hrs of dry fasting to conclude at 72 hours before resuming water/electrolyte intake followed by food. Furthermore, extended fasts could alternate between 24hrs dry with 24hrs of water.
@@dylanhunt5655 I agree. It was a general example. Depends on liver glycogen amount and rate of depletion.
(The age of accountability)
Then we are to give the equivalent of the cost of missed meals to help the poor.
Kidney damage without symptoms very quickly. Fast with water and good salt. I am 63 and have fasted 10 days total this year.
Could you tell more? I dry fasted 40 hrs months ago, but will never do it again. How do I,know whether it damaged my kidneys ?
Resetter not away from water, but yesss from food, 17/24 hrs. Love this message🎉
