      What is Ramadan style fasting? I want to try

    • @katieesh
      @katieesh 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@shardbo24Have you gotten an answer to your question by now? It’s a dry fast during daylight hours. The way Pelz prescribes it, you can have a cup of coffee and water before sunrise and then you eat and drink nothing until after the sun goes down. At sundown you have a keto-biotic meal which is kept (low carb, lower protein, high fat and probiotic) meal.

    I'm going to be coming up on my 1 year eating keto and practicing IF. I fast a couple of times a month 24 to 48 hours and have in the past month started fasting every Monday, but not dry fasting. I just want to say that I'm 66 and my skin has never been so smooth and healthy looking. I remember asking my dermatologist (living in Florida, I see her once a year) why my knees, elbows and heels...even my ankles were so dried out. I've never been one to slather myself in moisturizer, but she recommended a moisturizer, which did not work. It's like the dry patches on my knees, elbows and feet could not absorb any moisture at all. So I stopped using it after 6 months with no effect. That was 10 years ago. I just thought that this was going to be my life going forward. I truly was doing keto for health reasons because my sugar numbers were climbing each year and my doctor was concerned. She recommended Dr Fung's Obesity Code and now she says that I'm an inspiration to her and her team at her practice. BUT MY SKIN!!! I'm not sure when it happened because I wasn't paying attention, but my knees, ankles and elbows are as smooth as a baby's bottom. Seriously. My heels are still dry, but no longer cracked and ugly looking. So I'm thinking that they will soon be as smooth as my knees in another 6 months or so. I feel like I've found the way I will live out my life...IF and ketovore and with gratitude for you and all the doctor's who are lighting the way. Now I must add DF and see if this will enhance what I'm already practicing. Thank you so very much. Much ❤

    I did my very first dry fast today, I had my last meal yesterday at 6pm, and then had a drink and a meal at 6pm tonight, and it just felt soooooo weird.
    From 2pm onwards today, my body just started to feel so clean. All my pain seemed to disappear and I felt like I was walking on air, plus I didn't feel hungry or thirsty at all.

    I haven’t found an answer to this, can you advise? Is taking a sip of water to take meds “voiding” the dry fast during the fasting window?

      I do 30 days fasting every year for religious purpose. we are not allowed to to take any medication through the mouth with water when we are fasting, but we are allowed to take inhaler for asthma and insulin for type 1 diabetes. hope this help :)

      I think it’s okay to take the meds . It’s just a sip. So it would not undo a whole days work.

      You can take your medication. However, if it includes a diuretic- I would say not!

      I take a small sip for my meds too. It doesn't undo the work and I wouldn't recommend stopping medication endless it's safe.

      I love how proud people are of Ramadan. It’s not the same as real fasting.

    I don't know how people suffer through the day working outside in the sun with no water. Some days I drink a gallon of water I sweat so much. But I wanted to try dry fasting, so I'm doing it at night instead. I try to last at least 14 hours.
