Stock 10th Si on Mustang Dyno: 197WHP and 210lb/ft/wtq....give or take a few points here or there, but pretty cool since the dlr rates them at 205hp/192lb/ft...way to go Honda!
Yep. I have the 2018 Coupe SI in Energy green pearl. I like the exhaust. You can hear it. I mean, eventually I want to get a cat back but I'm in no rush to do so. The speed? It's pretty fast. That turbo doesn't lie. I've already raced a Ford focus st and bmw 525i and won. The car pulls. I'm happy with it. Great video man.
Wow those are great numbers for a tuned Si. If you factor in the 15 percent drivetrain loss, a stock 2017 Si should put down close to 175 HP at the wheels.
@@CarVisionLA the 205hp is to the wheels. Not like other cars like brz and frs that are 200hp at crank where at wheels it's 160hp. My SI is tuned with bolt ons. I'm able to hit ctr stock 1/4 mile times under 14 seconds. They are very underrated
I've been in the market for one of these and was wondering what type of fuel you put in it. I know the owner's manual states that the car should receive premium, but can it take regular? Furthermore, I think the car has a knock sensor that changes the ignition timing caused by the difference in the fuel quality. Still, I would like to eliminate knocking altogether to preserve the engine.
Hey Chad, thanks for your comment. I would say put in what the manufacturer recommends. This wasn’t my car, I just borrowed it for a day to review, but I only use what the manufacturer says on my personal cars.
And 246 torque to the wheels. Only reason we didn't go higher in the tune was because the clutch won't hold all that power. I'm gona get one soon to push it past 220hp to the wheels. I already spin abit!
Awesome review! I don't really see the point of the new Civic SI, and find it less invigorating than past SI's. The numbers it puts down aren't much better than the 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T I owned back in like 2003. But it seems like a fun DD and a more comfortable alternative to the CTR.
Thank you! It’s definitely not a fast car but it offers a good amount of creature comforts, cool styling, and pretty decent handling. The Si isn’t something I would take to the track but it’s a pretty capable daily driver.
Stock the 1999 DSM eclipse at most made 180 whp with a 5 speed, where the new civic si makes close to 200 whp with a 6 speed. Plus the gs-t cost 23 g's in 1999, with inflation that number would almost double. So you get a lot more with the si for half as much, by your logic gold standard, that's the point...
@@CarVisionLA I know, I was letting people know since the 2019s are out now.......I have a 2018 and I'm not butt hurt that it doesnt have a volume knob, I use the steering wheel toggle.
@@CarVisionLA I have the 2018 LX Coupe and mine doesn't have the volume knob, only the touch buttons but my dad and stepmom just bought a 2019 LX Sedan and theirs has the volume knob. I took a friend for a drive in it the day they got it (that night) and she said she wishes my car had that knob. Lol.
2019's do. My dad and stepmom got a 2019 LX Sedan and they have the volume knob in theirs. I have a 2018 LX Coupe and I only have the touch buttons in mine. Doesn't bother me though as I use the volume button on my steering wheel to turn up and down the volume.
CarVisionLA yea I’m definitely looking at the si sedan because you know family and stuff. I just want a car that will last me years and years with no major problems and still have fun in between
The Si is a great choice. I was caught between the Si coupe and a GTI a few years back. I ended up getting a 6-Speed Manual GTI because it is more mod friendly and has a strong community here in LA. That is another option to consider if you want a fun, practical car. I bought it new in 2018 and have put on 20,000 miles so far. Reliability has been flawless and the car is lots of fun. Plus, new VWs come with a 4-year bumper to bumper warranty and 2 years of paid maintenance.
I just got the 2018 LX Coupe model and I love it. I didn't really care for the look of the Coupe until I got one myself. I love the look of the car now. It's a really nice car. I'm gonna keep the car for a long time. As long as I don't have problem after problem with the car, I plan on keeping it until it dies.

Who knew a civic could be so cool!
And fast
Just sold my 2015 stingray and bought this last night. Red coupe.
It's fun isnt it? I love mine.

I just dyno tuned my 2017 civic si coupe. Getting 215 hp to the wheels! I have a couple bolt ons.

You make 250 with just a good Hondata tune

I think I like the sedan better than the coupe tho...
The sedan is more understated and practical than the coupe but doesn’t perform as well. It’s just based on personal preference.
I own a sedan and I think is better than the coupe and coupe just looks like it has a mustang cobra wing
Theo Philpot we have both. One coupe and one Sedan. The sedan is nicer for family use. The coupe looks a little cooler. Both are awesome
Jinder V I'm a Toyota guy, myself
the sedans are everywhere, so the coupe wins it for me.
2019s have a volume knob.
The 2018 models do not and this one is a 2018.

I can’t believe honda ever approved the capacitive slider volume button. At least they listened to consumers and brought the knob back though.

The problem with a manual is what if you hurt your wrist?
Awsome like

Yup sedan better....get hate by sedan owners
That coupe civic is ugly I would have to get the sedan. It’s just not my style
The coupe isn’t for everyone. The good thing is that they are the same price so you can choose solely based on preference.
