Imagine thinking that "cancel culture" is even remotely a good thing, much less worth defending from being mocked
What's weird is it isn't even sustainable. Every time you "cancel" a person/place/thing enjoyed by the majority you slowly chip away at your support. It's mind blowing how it's even gotten this far. We need to start mocking them and treating them like what they are: dweebs and losers. Fact of the matter is 10 years ago people like that would have been getting their heads dunked in toilets and stuffed into their lockers.

Japan basically said that they are sick of politically correct extremists lording their "moral superiority" over everyone, and with how Twitter treats Japanese artists, I don't blame them.
Basically, most of Japanese media is nipping it in the butt while it's young. It's not really that prevalent in Japan and they have their own issues to deal with, so they are sick of having western issues forced onto them
not just japanese artists. any asian artist really. there's a chinese canadian artist based in montreal who sells nsfw art through patreon and someone on twatter threw a fit and cried "all her art's the same!" then modified the art to show their own version which was...fatter.
@@yeungscs ah yes, THAT type of person gets under my skin.
There is nothing wrong with fairly critiquing art, or redesigning art respectfully- However, you have artists that use criticism as an excuse to throw insults at any artist they dislike, who redraw people's art and boast how their revisions are automatically "superior" because their version of the character is fat.
@@darrylferguson3622 They’re not looking for equal representation, just the ability to self-insert and for others to validate their poor life choices. These idiots need to realize pale skin EXISTS outside of people of European descent and that a decent amount of East Asian tend to be pretty light skinned. A Japanese artist making a a character Witt pale skin isn’t them bowing down to western beauty standards, nor is making a character skinny since the average East Asian tends to be much thinner than any westerner naturally due to their Whole Foods diet and moderation.
I feel it has more to do with an actual threat like the CCP Japan doesn't have the idiocrasy that we in the west do, Communism hasn't been a threat to the average westerner for a long enough time for us to understand what it truly does. Cancel Culture and Political correctness stems directly from Bolshevikism. The disease starts out slowly and it infects with deceit and apathy. The twitter losers are spreading the hate in such a way it can't really be seen as a threat, it's more of an issue with the IRL people like the "protestors" for BLM (ofc it's always the white ones who do this to) killed people and lynched people for wrong think, remember that 60 year old dude who was given life for defending himself from a gang of those "protestors"

"How is that far-right? They called out some obnoxious losers, not anything political!" Their admissions that the problem exists while trying to deny it's real, coupled with the fact that they identify any opposition to the problem as "far-right," is pretty telling about the political nature of the problem.
Far right is not a slur. It's a compliment.
Left means centralized control and oppression. Right means not that.

They don't deny that centralized control and oppression exists, they deny that its a problem(as long as it benefits them)
@@16m49x3 I, personally, am not a libertarian, so am not, myself, "far-right." To be clear, though, in actual practice, the furthest right you can get is a sort of libertarian anarchy.
Now, what I was actually trying to get at is that this is a political issue, and those yelping about the "far right" being the ones "bringing politics into it" are just lying to themselves. The fact they identify opposition to their position in political terms reveals they know, on some level, it is a political issue, despite what they claim.

Cancel culture: does its thing
Literally everyone: What an unexpected twist
I remember in one Digimon Tamers episode when Henry Wong was talking to his Grandfather about this group of Digimon who were doing bad stuff and they said it was for the Good of the Digital World.
The Grandfather then explained to Henry about the Ying and Yang philosophy how when it comes to fighting a war, don't view your own opponent as the Evil one because what they believe is only Good in their eyes, much like the way how how you view your values as being good in your eyes.
And how there may be no real definition of Good and Evil, just different values that the two groups are fighting for.
So I do believe there are parts of that statement from Henry Wong's Grandfather that can be used in order to make a Digimon Tamers storyline that takes the topic of Cancel Culture into the Digimon universe.

EXACTLY.
I'm left-wing but I agree way more with "right-wing" beliefs. a.k.a. literally absolutely ~anything~ that isn't in their hivemind.
False. In most of the world, American "Liberals" are center-right. America itself is a very conservative culture, and what we call "conservatives" are actually reactionaries, seeking to roll back the clock and remove decades of progress. The center isn't moving left toward "progressive," it's failing to move at all, which puts it closer and closer to the right side of politics.
Didn’t you know? Any form of self-preservation is far-right now.
This, but unironically. Leftism is all about sacrificing for the largest possible collective good. Right-wing thought significantly narrows that collective (because right-wing thought still acknowledges the need for civilization) because there are not infinite resources out there, and my voice should be the most important voice in how my resources are spent, and there is no good justification outside of the largest possible collective good, for why I should be compelled by force to hand over my money to people clear across the world.
@@stupidanon5941 this exactly. Its not a coincidence that political correctness and cancel culture are promoted by leftists. @@GlacieraBr1de I Still have no fucking clue what your talking about.
“I’m hoping to find people outraged and trying to cancel these people, and I’m not, so it must mean something different than it does on western Twitter. Because surely they know, cancel culture doesn’t exist.”…. No, it means the same thing, they’re talking about the thing you’re trying to do right now…
This is the megalomanian, supremacist mindset all of these people have tbh. Bet that person also thinks the US is the most racist country on the planet and other stupid crap like that.
It's not enough they have a community of like hundreds of thousands people on Twitter who share their view, they want literally everyone to have their exact same opinion on every topic. Smh
@DarkGem And oh lord if you used to be part of it, and you unplugged. I lost friendships from people I thought where apolitical. Until I walked away from the hivemind. Then suddenly i'm all of the above.
this topic is what ended up causing me to lose a long-term friend I had online.
I'm just stunned at what happened with them.
“this is a problem, but we don’t want to look at it…”
“I don’t agree with this take, so it’s far right”
Said literally every far-left SJW ever.
Classic Digimon. Keep going strong!
women and girls need to learn how to love each other
Its only far right if you're on the extreme left. Then even reasonable stuff is far right.
As a moderate, the internet scares me sometimes. I feel like I have to tiptoe both sides and it stresses me out.
Same... well I have been finding myself agreeing with the left a little more recently except for a lot of the stuff on Twitter.
See, this is the kind of stuff that would make me want to get back into Digimon.
Twitter mob dogpile catchphrase counter-attack activate:
"Hello! It's 2021!"
"Imagine being..."
"I love how..."
"Why can't you just be kind..."
"Don't you have any compassion for..."
"Who hurt you that..."
"Let people..."
"Let's normalize..."
"Inhales deeply..."
I had to cackle, cause some of those I actually read on cancel culture twitter, I would rank "Imagine being..." as number 1
My usual response to the 2nd line is "I don't have to imagine, I'm literally doing it rn"
You forgot to clap between each words
You forgot: Does this ... scare you?
You forgot
“Ok but..”
“What about..”
“Are you..?”
“I'm offended as a...”
I thought this was about Bisexual Mineta for a minute lmao
Honestly, this is even better.
Them: Noo, you can’t talk bad about cancel culture and political correctness! We need to those to maintain our liberal world order!
Japan: How bout I do anyway?
Far left: "cancel culture isn't real."
Also far left: "anyone who says it is, is far right."
Us: "so why not admit it is real?"
These losers will never admit it is real because being wrong is one of things these people really REALLY hate. Well, it doesn't matter if they don't admit it because reality expose their BS to the world anyway.

And that is just to name a few in a long list of people who fallen victim of cancel culture. Many of which either had their legacy scrubbed from certain places, their jobs and livelihoods where threatened, some actually lost their jobs, and even a whole company was boycotted for weeks by cancel culture for a single tweet deemed "controversial" when they called someone a blessing for a community because they didn't like the person they were praising.
But hey, cancel culture isn't real right?

Although digimon’s always had heavy themes in their show so I’m not surprised.
Makes Digimon superior to Pokemon when you compare the two.

@@Realperson16 Yes, exactly. I'm a fan of both when it comes to the anime. Game-wise... Yeah, I'm going to have to give that to Pokemon? As at least Pokemon is consistant with what they're trying to do. Digimon... Has been all over the map.
@@RyutheWeredragon Digimon games are hit or miss tbh.
The mental gymnastic is in another level
Digimon has always been one of my favourite animes as a kid but now I love it even more
When truth becomes extremism, you know you are in the shadow of the boulder rolling down the mountainside.
Digimon has always handled darker topics of society.
That's what sets it appart from Pokémon
It simply makes Sense to do it with a topic That affects the digital space.

that disclaimer that fansub group made reminds me of one i saw on a light novel translation. the story talked about a group of humanoid monsters that live in the jungle and "look savage" and at the top of the chapter they were introduced the group had a translator note saying "unlike the racist author, we here at [translator group] dont think all people who live in a jungle are savages"
it took me hours of explaining to ty and make them see why that was so wrong of them to say, and in the end they still didnt entirely get it, even if they did tone back the note a bit

This is exactly why I live in Japan, and have for 8 years. Seeing America/The West go down this insane road is just heartbreaking, but seeing Japan resists makes me happy.
Watch out for admirals...
The sad thing is it's a minority of ppl pushing for it. Most of us are sick of it. But the political left is backed up by idiot and paid off celebrity's, most news and other media, democrats and collage
Typical America?
This is why I want to move in America lmao
Every country has its issues but yeah the mental gymnastics of logic of the US is insane. For example my body my choice yet force vaccines that have not undergo the years of testing that other vaccines go through(note I support the vaccine but understand for some individuals it has had extreme reactions).

Hey Twitter, it’s time to ask yourself, “Are we the bad guys?”
Twitter: no, we are not, everyone else must be evil and wrong since we can not be wrong.
Tbh wish tumblr still existed and kept the problem children contained
Now this is 'chef kiss' perfect.
I can hear their screeches over the internet.
man i love twitter so much, its just a mess, it always makes me laugh
Yeah, just don't comment anything or post anything on Twitter, people will get offended and go after you
That background music sounds good on my pair of Meze's or Huh Duh Six Hungeos by Ol' Mate Senn.
It's the cognitive dissonance of people who will NEVER ask themselves if they're the bad guys.
Well radicals and extremists will usually never admit to themselves that they're actually the villains to begin with then.
Real Life villains never acknowledge themselves as bad guys. At least not while they're still doing it, maybe after they had their "My god what have I done" moment but then they're technically not villains anymore. People will say the most vile shit ever and somehow STILL believe they're the good guys.
Card carrying villains who commit atrocities and are all like "Muahahaaa! I am so evil and nasty for no particular reason at all!" only exist in fiction.
normal people: do something
tweetards: *angry inhale
I never get tired of these people outing themselves.
Far-left this, far-right that. I wonder how far gone some of these people's heads are.
Dude, to these people on Twitter, anything they disagree with is far right
Just like to the *ACTUAL* far right me wanting medicine to be affordable/people to get paid a living wage makes me a socialist
Living wage? I'd hope it would be elementary that when businesses are forced to hike their wages, other prices will go up. I suppose living means growing... So it's like treading water as the water rises...
The affordable care requires socialist policies. And living wage is something people at the bottom barrel should work hard for. Anyways increasing wage always increases prices, so you're not making a living wage eitherway
you see all this chaos on the world? this would never happened if we stayed on the monke era
This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while lol
My already large respect for digimon just had an exponential increase thanks to this.
