Good video all around on your part honestly. The only thing that bugged me was those Redditors going on about how jerks like him act like "Fascist" (a common trend in too many places) when Communists were doing that long before Fascism was a blip on the radar, and corrupted Monarchism (Tyranny) predates both. Recently got back onto Reddit to try and share/interact with groups. Yeah so many reddit mods need to touch grass because they get a high off the "power" being a reddit mod has. Some movie sub reddit I was interacting with I talked to ppl, helped with questions and such. The rules said 1:10 ratio of OC from the poster or something along those lines. So I shared a film review and was ready to talk about it in the comments of Reddit. First guy just complains about me linking a video. mod then deletes and bans me saying I broke the rules. I brought up I had way more that 1:10 ratio (I interacted with a ton of posts) and then he says "You're whole account is nothing but links and they make up 70% of your account. Then I was blocked. Now keep in mind I'm in easily over a 100 subreddits. I had posted once in the subreddit I'm now banned in. No wonder he blocked me because what he said didn't make any sense. Anyways no skin off my nose. I just interacted and posted in the next movies subreddit. There's alot of them. Course I'm mainly there for stuff like the Dread Delusion subreddit.

Well, of course they would try to defend their own reprehensible actions when criticized; they live in their own small bubble where they think they can do no wrong at all. Duh.
They essentially do have rule over a sub tho. If you think Reddit is democratic, you are mistaken. It's entirely up to the mods and that can make it a bad experience
That's one now the other subreddits should follow this example and get rid of all these power tripping mods. Especially the ones who have a huge ego like that /r/art moderator for banning and telling an artist to change his artstyle just because it looked like ai gen to him.
This really is the Reddit adaptation of that Kino's Journey (2003) episode where Kino stumbles upon a town with only one resident in it and she later learns that the reason why that town is too deserted was that the former townspeople practiced a voting system that favored the majority voices while granting the majority the rights to literally execute the minority voters.

Reminds me of this experience in reddit recently. Since there's a lot of lgbtq issues especially since the pikamee - hogwarts legacy, a question came into my mind. "Can you be gay/trans without being part of the lgbtq?" (since I know that lgbtq is a movement.) For more clearer example, it's like, you can be female but not a feminist and I was wondering if you can also be/do that in lgbtq. So, I asked in r/lgbtq (where's the best place to ask than in reddit where there are people like that) there are 2 people who commented and then my post got removed for "disrespectful post." I didn't fully get what the two said because I only saw it in the notifications and cannot access it. So, I asked in another reddit thread and also shared my experience in r/lgbtq . I forgot the name of the subreddit but it's something like you post whatever you think about. A few people responded and someone even explained to me that lgbtq is both a movement and a category (never knew it was a "category" until they pointed it out). TLDR: you can be gay/trans and not support the movement but will still be part of lgtbq. I was weirded out by that mod on why my post was disrespectful and it doesn't reflect the community in a good way. Since the post was "disrespectful" to them, then on my mind, "So, if I ask anything about lgbtq, it's disrespectful."
The lgbt and trans reddits are the worst. They literally think that just because youre gay or trans, you're automatically a nice person and can never be mean. The level of blind narcissism and the excuses they make to escape accountability is so smug and gross.

Once upon a time, I made a comment on a blogger's site who was reviewing Buddy Complex (a mecha anime). So the MC duo were gonna use prototypes of their regular mechs next episode. So my comment was something like "the systems on those prototypes are probably more potent than the main machines. That's why they've been sealed away." Because the mechs have a special system in the cockpit, the same way Wing Zero has Zero System. But then he started arguing with me. Except the focus of his argument was "there's no way the prototypes are stronger than the main mechs. They're prototypes. They're old and replaced by the new machines because they are better at combat, etc etc" His point was that the main mechs were better in terms of combat. Which had nothing to do with my OG comment about the systems built in the cockpit. And then the next episode came. The prototypes really had more potent systems built into them. Unrestricted, unfiltered, no limiters installed, dangerous for regular use. So they were sealed away. The same way Wing Zero was sealed away and was succeeded by slightly weaker Gundams because it was deemed too dangerous. So he had to admit I was right in his next review. And he did. Bitterly, it seems. Worded in a way that mocked me. And then he banned me from his site. Short story. He couldn't handle criticism, much less a harmless random opinion that wasn't even harming him in the first place.
that's the thing with a power trip, it feels like you're above everyone else and then one day them lil' guys become a safety hazard. which is why you should always carry a band-aid, in case you decide to elbow-drop the ground.
>he's working on meta and moderating Facebook no wonder why the moderation system there is utterly shit, you can get banned for saying the most harmless jokes. I've been on Facebook since 2013 and my account has been nuked 3 times for harmless comments, i am also a moderator and admin on 2 different groups (but still 1 community, its like a plan B if one taken down people will move to another one but in the meantime both are active). because of short fuse people like him working there we had to put almost every harmless word that could potentially get the group taken down if taken out of context on the wordlist and tightly filtering the post.
Similar to something which made me completely stop going on reddit. Used to be pretty active then one day I had a post removed with no explanation, messaged mods asking for a reason and followed up a few times even telling them if they didn't want to give a reason just say so. Literally never ever got a response even though I could see there were multiple active human mods. Moderation is probably one of their biggest risks if they want to IPO IMHO.
If I needed any more proof to not want anything to do with Meta, it's him. Linux is best clearly thinks highly above himself because he's been on the internet for too long. He can't handle the fact that he was wrong and will try to weasel his way out of any responsibility.
Power tripping and Reddit mods go hand in hand. I got permanent banned off a different sub with literally no reason given, replied to the ban notification to ask the mod why, and they just responded "sorry, we just don't care for Hitler supporters" Just to be absolutely clear, I'd never taken any stance that even remotely supported racism, let alone Hitler or nazis. It's a shame too, all I was using the sub for was hearing other men's experiences with misandry, both on a social and legal scale, and that's exactly what the sub claimed it was for.
Hi. From your comment you seem a reasonable person. I have a question or two. I'm not a mod but an extremely active yt participant on subbed channels. Also had to Google misandry-now I know:) I'd like to mod someday, hopefully my sense of fairness would prevail. Were you banned from a thread that was for people to vent, share, ask about the effects of misandry? Like employment, legal, relationships? The thread could be triggering to a person not caring to listen. But too bad don't be a mod in a community that's offensive to the mod. Honestly trying to connect dots on the Hitler thing: fascist women? Dictator households? Just stretching here. Comparing women to something hitlerish? Sorry you had that experience, both the banning and the misandry legal issues. I'd say time heal is poop advice. Character building with scars at best. Chopping firewood worked for me. Actually it was the axe & hatchet sharpening that was cathartic
@@SallyStClair-tv9gf it was the r/mensrights sub, normally it's a sub dedicated to pointing out legal/social discrimination against men and the posts there often either had people detailing their experience with misandry or activism to support in order to help make beneficial changes. As for why I was banned, I genuinely have no idea. The only thing I can possibly imagine would've been related to the weird mod message would've been that in a post exactly 30 days prior, I had made the argument that sometimes unfavorable/bad people can still make/support good causes, but just because those people support the causes doesn't mean that people should demonize the cause by association, stating so because the post in question was about Kanye West supporting a regular men's issue on the sub, which if I remember correctly had something to do with family court discrimination. I can only assume one of the sub's mods was very anti-Kanye for whatever reason and conflated my statement to somehow be 'pro-Hitler' because I technically something 'positive' about Kanye and he has a controversy hanging over him about nazis. If that at all sounds ridiculous to you, don't worry, I'm just as confused as you are.

It's like the mods of one of the women subreddits, the second you call out toxic behaviours of the women, they perma ban you =D Love their motto of "we accept all women" *except those who disagree with us* :3
The severe moderation and censorship of Reddit is why I left 6 years ago, after being on it since around 2007 for a decade. And it wasn't because we couldn't scream the N-word or say faqqot anymore but the constant abuse and pushing of personal politics from one side. I don't mind liberal points of view. Some of my favourite discussions were with liberals trying to change my mind, and in the end, we both came to agreement on certain things. But this ravenous bloodthirsty witch hunt for anyone who disagrees with them has created delusions. A world full of hypocrisy and narcissistic babies, that have no idea what they are taking about half the time because they get their 'research' from headline. It's just crazy to me that something as wonderful as reddit has been destroyed by a bunch of fascists that can't even see that they're fascists.
It's very strange that there aren't still separated places for blue and red fans for each state. They will get their little echo chambers and everyone will be happy.
Never. That horrendous site condones racism against all white people. Don't forget that an admin even outright admitted that white people aren't a protected group on the site.
I don't think that will ever happen, it's not like it's a secret the mods on the vast majority of subreddits are bad, and the admins are no better. They completely neutered r/4chan and banned a bunch of subreddits for no reason, other than muh hate speech.

Ditto. I got banned from r/pics, r/cats, and r/facepalm for posting one time in r/LockdownSkepticism.
I don't browse any mainstream subreddits, because of the dogshit moderation and circle-jerking about politics, even on non-political subreddits.
Hardcore leftists being awful people? That's just a normal day on Reddit.

It feels like people only remember Adolf, Mussolini and Hirohito, and they don't remember Stalin, Mao or Ho Chi Minh at all. Or any of Histories corrupt Monarchs, Tsars or Imperialists. I mean seriously Reddit, there's more than sharks in the water.

Dear god. That's really a case of the lunatics running the asylum.
I don't care how precocious and intelligent you are, no child can have fully realised their sexual identity and preferences before the double digits at the very earliest. Liberalism is a mental disease.
The whole "You believe I'm the bad guy, but it's okay; I forgive you" is so disgustingly patronizing and reeks of gas lighting. Does he seriously expect people to question his guilt with that? There's no honest attempt to explain himself or convince others why he believed his actions were correct because he can't; he can only wax poetic about his circumstances while taking great care to be as vague as possible about the details and guilt trip anyone who tries to call him out on his bs. That self-righteous vindicative attitude is not indicative of someone who "knows the truth". It's closer to a cult leader.

Reminds me of people saying “you probably deserved it” when talking about getting banned on steam forums by volunteer mods.
As if asshole mods weren’t also present on steam 😂
In one case I contacted steam themselves and they basically said “there isn’t anything we can do”. I had even sent proof of the mod posting their biased opinions (and some cases even mocking other people).

Oh, yeah, this video reminded me. That reddit that I posted after the r/lgbtq is r/randomthoughts
The lgbt and trans reddits are the worst.

Apparently saying prototype mech suits is like commiting genocide in Ukraine

So he was reviewing a mecha anime despite never seeing one before in his life?

no wonder why the moderation system there is utterly shit, you can get banned for saying the most harmless jokes.
I mean, I'm pretty sure "people who don't agree with me" is the latest definition of homophobic, racist etc...

the mod implodes
Power tripping and Reddit mods go hand in hand. I got permanent banned off a different sub with literally no reason given, replied to the ban notification to ask the mod why, and they just responded "sorry, we just don't care for Hitler supporters"
Just to be absolutely clear, I'd never taken any stance that even remotely supported racism, let alone Hitler or nazis.
Also had to Google misandry-now I know:)
I'd like to mod someday, hopefully my sense of fairness would prevail.
