Filipino here. For context on why Millie was so hated by Filipinos.
In the past, in her PL, Millie used to market herself with filipinos, this made other filipinos support her strongly. She became one of the popular filipino vtubers. (Iirc Shes not full filipino, just half cmiiw but she talks, markets and caters to filipinos).
Then when she debut in NijisanjiEN as Millie, almost all of the filipino vtuber groups celebrated, hyped and increased the attention for Millie across all plstforms (before 2023, Nijisanji used to be seen as the game changer in vtubing as they are not "idol-oriented" while both Hololive and vshojo were still making mistakes after another.)
But then in the middle of her career in Nijisanji, she started distancing herself from her filipino fans and the traditions, slangs and culture that used to be her content.
She started catering to western market. The turning point is when on her one stream, she denounced her filipino status and cleared that shes Canadian. This could have been just a minor statement if not for the timing where MOST of her chat were talking in tagalog and not english, and she was ignoring most of them and they were checking on why shes not doing her filipino content anymore.
This obviously at first confused and hurt her filipino fans who took to FB(fb is one of the largest platform used mostly in ph), posting or even debating if she was sincere with them in the past.
Then this confusion turned to anger and hate when they connected everything and found her that shes just using them for clout. This is one of the no go if youre trying to bait filipino viewers. And Millie crossed that line. Her SC and views suffered as most of her supporters and those who spread her clips around platforms quit. Then when 2023 came around which was the start of Nijisanjis fall, Millir started baiting back her filipino fans by posting that "shes one of them" or shes eating filipino food again and she misses ph. This was another mistake.
You dont ever go back after you kicked out your filipino fans. This will just fuel their hate that youre trying to get them again just because you are now falling.
    You are now here.
Millie is one of the hated vtuber in philippines right now. This got worse when it was proven that Millie in her PL was caught bullying another Vtuber into quitting.
So yeah, Millie is even hated worse than Elira or Mikeneko here in Ph.
    *Edit:
I realized just now that this channel keeps deleting my replies that have compiled sources and archive or links despite censoring it. So you have to search it on your own. I tried everything and im tired seeing all my replies getting deleted. This channel may have actively deleted them or hit filter because it also involves former indies who quit and victims that may get doxxed.
And this is not new to drama channels to delete comments that have full explanation and sources so that the channel can generate more outrage and traction.
For those who keep complaining about not getting answers. You show a pikachu face when you dont get answers because you didnt read the replies and only read the first or two sentences. Also youre in the internet. You can essily google it nowadays if you really want to know more. Thanks to archive sites, VTreddit or VT forums, its easy to find compiled docs and sources. Its easy using just the keywords that are related to it. Youre not a caveman so im sure you can use google.

    Filipino here.
And, yes, it is quite true that there's a culture of absolutely brutal toxicity here in my country. And it's not even the fun kind of old MW2 lobbies kind of toxic. It's the... we'll st@b your eyesockets with a pencil kind of toxic. Going through college with people like that was not a fun one, especially since I had to maintain a scholarship. I got made fun of just because I was different and actually wanted to be an honest student as much as I could and get good grades. And, believe me, you don't want to work with those types in group-oriented college tasks.
Nearly failed a few subjects near the end of it all because of those kinds of folks. Not fun. And they'll do everything in their power to gaslight everyone else into making you out as the villain even when you have all the evidence to prove them otherwise. Let's just say I wasn't all too popular in those days. To people like that, being serious in taking responsibilities properly was boring.
So, yeah, I'm not particularly a fan of the extreme lengths my fellow countrymen will do to put someone down... sometimes... you can tell that the target of hatred might deserve it to some extent... but, more often than not, you start to figure out just how weirdly artificial but also absurdly passionate this malignant attitude can get. And all that can also work the other way around. So, even when you're supported... there's always a catch.
While Millie did bring this upon herself to an extent... I partly do feel bad for her. Emphasis on partly.

Just gonna paste what i wrote in a comment here:
1.) The reason filipino fans hate her for "denouncing" her being filipino is the fact that she leaned strongly with the bit that she's Filipino, told her filipino chat to be more expressive of their nationality, THEN suddenly antagonizing them for speaking/behaving like a filipino when she's the one who started it. She gaslit her filipino fans, made them out to be detractors when they were just following her lead and approval. Big no no.
2.) "Denouncing" / not acknowledging your country of origin is always unethical and insulting to the people of your country of origin. We get it, you may have had a rough life here, but suddenly belittling your fellow filipinos when theyre experiencing hardship compared to your new life elsewhere is a total asshole move. Anyone, even non-filipinos, would find that downright immoral and wrong.

Its all just a fake veneer though, you see the same shit in Africa, south Asia, etc, this artificially prodded and expressed patriotism. Apelike hooting and hollering and making poses to pretend you were always great. For most postcolonials, its just wanting to seem strong, to feel like you fought for your independence, instead of the "shame" of having it handed to you. So Indians and Pakistanis pretend they fought the British Empire (instead of signing up for it in the millions), bc their popular culture and books tell them they did. So Indonesians (Javans) pretend that they won their independence war against the Dutch, when they lost totally and only the hated Washington DC gave them their independence by strong arming the Dutch into giving it all up, bc their manufactured culture and books tell them they did. And on and on and on. Yeah these are necessary things in a way for founding postcolonial cliques to make a functioning country, its to invent a fake history, and squeeze the juice of a fake nationalism from it. I don't despise them for it, its necessary to weld a singular state from a pre-colonial mishmash of hundreds of local despotisms, principalities, duchies, kingdoms, etc. But it makes for an annoying aspect of internet communities in the modern day. All these postcolonial thirdworlders online hooting and hollering, clawing people down, especially their own "kin", for "patriotism", "nationalism", its all so fake and gay.

Filipino here. I've loved NijiEN in the past and of course Millie. But when Millie and Enna addressed about the "play button and % gains" in their stream trying to defend NijiEN, I thought to myself "hah? anong pinagsasabi mo ate?" and that's the end of the road for me. And then Sayu, Mysta, Nina, Kyo, Pomu, and finally Selen left NijiEN (Sayu and Selen got kicked out. FORCEFULLY!). They might be ordered to say things of maybe the PR management had taken on their accounts to post some stupid things trying to defend the company but of course that move especially blabbering it on stream is just hilariously bonkers if you ask me. And yes Filipinos can be really toxic especially when equiped with keyboards lmao. It's so sad to see this kind of events happening on Millie and I think theyre just scared of losing the job and doesn't mind the backlash but for me, it's not really worth it. Trying to defend a vile company is just asking for your grave.

Filipino has hierarchy just like any Asian countries, but ours is different. Instead of something like "senpai" or "oppa" and so. @@user-nn6lu9mm9n People that hate Enna are people that don't watch Enna...A lot of her toxicity are what get clipped because they are hilarious and usually when she is toxic, she's in collabs. However, people mistake her toxicity for her complete personality. She's actually toned herself down quite a bit in the last year or so, but even then, she's not all that toxic even in her hayday. She's just the wildcard in collabs. If you actually watch her streams, she's a bit dark humored at times, but generally pretty tame compared to some other vtubers. Her style of music though...probably one of teh best vtubers out there atleast in my opinion. I've always been a fan of that style.
As for why people could hate Enna, I can think of a couple ideas but even I'm not entirely sure they have any merit to them.
1 ) Supposedly she's part of some clique with Elira and Millie although there's no evidence to support the clique exists...and Enna doesn't even have her 3.0 brushup whereas a lot of people in Nijisanji EN have received theres. Infact, to claim Enna has some sort of special treatment...I'm not even sure where anyone's getting that idea?
2 ) There is a clip out that states you should not look for the truth about a week or two after Selen's termiantion happened. Two things wrong with that, 1. It was clipped out of context. Enna was stating that you shouldn't ruin your mental health over trying to look into the truth because it was a variable shitstorm at the time. 2. It was a membership stream, you're not suppose to clip things out of membership streams. Streamers do membership streams because they feel confident in their audience so they can be themselvers a little bit and be more honest about how things are. This actually infuriated Enna because she trusts her members and this was a backstab at her to hurt her reputation in something that was taken completely out of context just to fuel the drama.
3 ) Some believe she was instrumental in bullying Selen...however, Selen has never stated she was bullied by any Livers, nor has Dokibird. They're even part of the group Nijicancelled and if Selen hated Enna...I don't think she'd be doing so many collabs with Enna.

They're not going to report that Millie's dog died a couple weeks ago and she's been grieving over that, they're not going to report that she donated a couple thousand to an animal shelter, they're going to report how much hate the SEA people have towards her. As for Enna, they're not going to report that Enna tried to have a birthday stream for her vtuber mother but was hijacked by antis who posted posted hateful messages aimed at Enna over art people drew for KT-mama, they're going to post how she was taken out of context on a membership stream.

So I don't really see it a problem for her to denounce it. I mean when you become a citizen of another country, most of the time you have to denounce your affiliation with your country of origin anyways. Sure you can get dual citizenship, but a lot of people don't because they left the country for a reason. The Filipino thing always makes me cringe seeing them take credit for hard work others do even when those people do not raise their flag, even blind "fan base" and then they get angry. Like?? . It's giga cringe.
I mean, being like that is why people don't wanna associate with you in the first place. Stop vicariously living through other people's work.

They also like to take credit for an individual's hard work and pass it off as "Filippino Greatness" when that person doesn't recognize it as such.
      It's just giga cringe.
And her family left the country for a reason. Also a lot of the time, the Filipinos I know here in the US only associates with their country of origin because they still have family there, the ones that don't are full on American.
