I've heard most ppl do this with OBS, but maybe you can show us how to get setup and do it fast. It really helps to watch ourselves playing on a video -- helps for improving! Thx!

You can always play the 2014 remastered version and download custom songs from online. Nearly every song imagined can be downloaded and played

@@Chainbrain Pretty sure it's the dots along the song track on the top that show when things are missed. (Atleast that's what I got out of it from my screwing around in game)
Dots mean something was missed. Although, from what I saw, it was mostly just the quick muted open low E undercurrent on occasion.

The fact that you can just blaze through MoP first thing in the morning is insane. I’d need at least 30 mins of warmups before I could hit all those downstroked quarter notes.

but my payoff is that i cant upstroke at all since i lack the strenght XD

tbh MoP is easier on 7+ strings because Downpicking on the higher up strings is significantly easier than the lowest string
I can only hear the "master but it gets faster" version Jason Paradise played a while back. It lives rent free in my head.

@@Chainbrain I remember that. Banger video, but that version was pitch matched. Still hilarious, but James Hetfield slowly shrinking (and or becoming a hamster) was priceless.
I was really pumped for the new Rocksmith release. They advertised over 8,000 songs. Filtered down to "Metal" genre on bass with full tabs. They only had 41 songs....The rest were chord charts. Pretty weak considering its a monthly subscription based program now. Looks like we will still be relaying on the custom forge community after all.
On the page with the subscription plans, they're advertising a 5k song library right now. Think I'll not be bothering with this for the forseeable future.
I've been seriously disappointed with the song selection. 5k songs...maybe a hundred of which I know of, and like 5 of those that I actually want to play. If there was some way for me to get all my DLC songs from Rocksmith 2014 I would be really happy
i think the song library is still quite lackluster especially in metal, i like playing all genres but it still sucks.
Compared to Rocksmith 2014 that had 2 metal songs at launch, I think we're off to a good start 👍

Im really not happy with the library, with the fact I was baited seeing like 30+ opeth songs and then only being able to play 5 or 6 with the others just being chord charts, as well with steve vai. With how the library is now I will not be renewing my subscription lmao. But the few select songs I really enjoyed were the Snarky Puppy songs, the one BFMV song and the Opeth songs.

@@sniperguyAZ It was theorized that it had to do with Activision still having exclusive rights from Guitar Hero: Metallica, but I'm not sure how much that is actually true. I suspect it's mostly a matter of high licensing costs.

This feels like such a downgrade from Rocksmith 2014.
The notes are so much more unclear, hard to read and there's way less indication that you're actually hitting notes... Alot of the time it feels like they're just scrolling past, like you've missed them.
If some people prefer Rocksmith+ how it currently is, that's fine but there should at least be the option to change it back to something similar to Rocksmith 2014. There's so many people commenting online about this issue, so surely the developers are aware of this... It's just if they care enough to make it a option. Until then i'll stick with Rocksmith2014.
The tabbing at 7:51 is blatantly not correct. It should be 32nds in a 3211 or 3212 pattern, but they tabbed it as 32nd triplets in a 332211 pattern. Hammett is definitely *not* strumming that fast.
Getting bad latency with R+. Using a Focusrite 2i2. Bringing me back to the nightmare of getting R2014 working...sigh

Nicely done, and yeah, the tab looks great! I know what you mean with the note indicators, they don't "catch on fire" like in RS2014 to tell you you've hit them, they just lightly flash, but the MISS icons are still there. Also the white outlines on the notes and chords are messing with me a bit, and I'm wondering how much you can customise the layout in the game. Definitely worth keeping an eye on!

I have kept my close eye on Rocksmith+ since they announced it and I'm not surprised with all the issues people are having. I love Rocksmith and its a shame it went to a online subscription route.
I hope the console version releases soon. Can't wait to play 😁
If they would remove the white borders from the notes and the icons. The noteway would look alot more readable. Those white edges don't seem to get proper anti-aliasing.

I hope the metal catalog develops a bit more over the coming weeks/months, though I'm sure it will. But man, the soloing on this really made me question why I as mainly a fan of metal bought a Squier Starcaster. That glossy coated fretboard ain't helping when bending lol
The starcaster is a beautiful guitar though, worth suffering through an overly slippy fretboard.

ive used og rocksmith and rocksmith 2014 on bass and i like this version the best so far because the lessons actually keep me motivated. Hopefully i'll stick with it more than the other 2......the fact that its a subscription kinda helps too........

Most of the UI is a downgrade from 2014, but the way how arpeggios look is much much better. Props to them for that.
gotta disagree with you on the arpeggio front, thought it was super difficult to read compared to 2014.

Hard disagree. I can’t even read the new ones at all, have no idea what it is even trying to convey without staining at it for like 10 seconds.
It seems they could maybe make use of the area at the top of the screen to give better feedback, maybe an optional streak counter and stuff like that rather than how it is now which seems like they had some empty screen to fill and thought they’d better put something into it (I’d rather just be able to have it all black without the current animations)

It can do both. There are some lessons in there. If you don't want to subscribe, Rocksmith 2014 is also a good start
I tried rocksmith+ on the closed beta and there were a lot of UX issues I complained about on the forum... seems like many of those were not addressed, not surprised
And all this sounds better in Rocksmith+ wanted to include in Spotify the original and the game Chainbrain on the guitar

Be honest. Is this really worth 15 bucks per month? I dig Rocksmith 2014 but I’m afraid 15 may be a bit too steep for most consumers… :(
I'd pay $15 a month if I felt it was worth it. I don't even have the note tracker on with RS14, that way you can hear your mistakes instead of that discouraging "late & miss" while playing through a an actual amplifier.
SO the one great song (greatly played !) is here thanks to a licensing loophole. Cool launch trick, but this is actually scary for the licensing model. We barely have proper famous albums tracks.

That UI is so…odd? I’m tracking pretty ok, but it feels off after being on 2014 for so long. You are absolutely 100% on point by saying this “official” chart is better than CDLC out there. Maybe this will entice charters to make some good updates, haha! Still can’t decide if I really want to invest any money into RS+, even moreso now after the whole regional lock shit.

I just discovered that Rocksmith+ is in Ubisoft only not Steam. That means my Steam wallet will not pay for Rockwmith+. I only used the Steam wallet for Rocksmith 2914 songs. So the money in is is wasted.

The down picking (like at 2:54) is pretty tiring. Requires a good amount of stamina of your wrist
Ok, I need to know because I swear I see so many tabs or charts get this wrong or maybe I am wrong. The part at 3:21, isn't the final part of that supposed to be chugs on the low E 7th fret, then the 8th power to the 7th power. Then it goes chugs on the 8th fret to the A string 6th fret power chord back to the low E 7th power chord? Cause this one does 8th fret for both chugs and the current rocksmith chart does both on the 7th iirc.
Also, I bet chain is happy that he can do both the solos and the lower harmony that James does all in one tab.

Ubisoft once again drops the ball when it comes to metal songs on Rocksmith. I forgot that Rocksmith+ was even a thing until I was hosting Chainbrain's channel the other day. It's very disappointing as well as sad that they decided to stick with the live service subscription model instead of giving us a game like Rocksmith 2014. And Master of Puppets is only available in EU region?
Looks like metal fans are going to have to rely on custom songs made by the fans once again.

Quick question, dunno if you can answer, but I use my headphones through a Scarlett, which Rocksmith 2014 doesn't like. Would it work on RS+ with the Realtone cable or even plugging my guitar in through the scarlett?

RS+ has interface support so using interface headphones should be fine. I hear some people with Scarlett are having problems tho. I just did a video on the interface settings if you go back like 3 videos 🤘

save your money people. ubisoft totally botched this one.
I got to do one of the beta tests for the game last year and by biggest gripe was how much worse the interface was than 2014 or the original. Also didn't like how they were throwing around the concept of it being a subscription game.

I have no idea how people read these charts. Wish it was just a right to left tab like songsterr or guitar pro.
There is the option to have tab on the screen as well, I find playing along to tabs hard because you can't look "ahead" if that makes sense

jep the lack of feedback is a thing ive noticed, other thing is i cant find the tuner.. like in a song if a paused it put my guitar down i picked it back up bumpt with the chair lean against the head and had to tune again atleast one string and couldnt find it anywhere, maybe im blind but couldnt find the option to it. Question i have is, do you have the guitar directly plugged in with the tone cable or do you use a mixer? I use a simple mixer to use an amp and while i had rocksmith+ on, it made a lot of noise not coming from guitar but the cable which isnt even directly connected to the amp... any conclusion?

How do I use a VPN with rockmsmith? I have nord VPN. I put it in Germany and it says that uplay is offline
I had to connect a few times, seems like some of the VPN IPs might be banned from uplay lmao
