@@Samford_ his "Greeny" Les Paul is a 22 fret, but Ouija has 24, and I think he goes all the way up there in Creeping Death, might be wrong tho

Kirk never hoes higher than 22 frets. Most of the solos end with that(whole step bend on 22 fret) including a wah pedal.

Everybody's Talkin bout 4:27 but 2:19 till 3:50 is the one for me, that solo has too much soul to it, I can't describe it 🪐

ikr. This feels so surreal. Not the best or the hardest riff but it has 100% soul and heart to it. It's more beautiful than "amazing solo" lol... thats how i described 🤣,....horribly

So this version came on my RUclips music, and I was like "oh is this a remaster?" Like it sounded almost identical but just slightly different (harmonies slightly louder etc). This is honestly the best cover I've ever heard, you nailed it

@@JacketCK Tone doesn't cause carpal tunnel... for the most part preamp, amp, pedals, and guitar itself cause the tone. While technique is a factor, it's not that much of an influence on tone

Kirk can leave tommorow and metallica would still be around. No James = No Metallica. Also, there are no Rhythm Guitarists of James's Calliber while you can easily find a lead guitarist that can exceed Kirk's Caliber.

That's absolutely amazing great job as we all know how hard that riff is to play 100% to you.
He's doing it using alternate picking though. This song in particular is famous for being mostly down strummed. That is what makes Hetfield's playing impressive. MoP and the opening riff in Disposable Heroes is just forearm destroying.

This was like the third song I learned how to play by Metallica and it's so crazy because I learned it in like 1987 88 LOL and I just picked up an electric guitar a few days ago and started playing it like it was yesterday and even though my brain still works my fingers and my hands aren't and my wrist I might elbows are as 1988 anymore but still love this song and this jam thank you for sharing I hope somebody get something out of this song because it's marvelously made to this day it has lasted the ages YeAhH plus it's about cocaine you know it's the words ring true. When I first heard this song my cousin had earphones on and he was saying master and in the background my father was saying Bates just a little humor there in my memories

Everyone is saying “aLtErNaTe pIcKing” but they don’t notice that he’s playing the riff wrong, the start of the riff is all on the E string... But still awesome playing 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Well, he’s not playing it wrong. He’s just moving to the A string for the higher notes of the riff, so he can move faster maybe. Or maybe he just feels more confident/comfortable with that. It doesn’t mean he’s playing it wrong. Anyway, yeah... all focused on the alternate picking or downward strokes... probably just jealous it’s not them in this video... 🤔

He actually does play the first couple riffage wrong. When he goes down the 6th chromatically he ends on the 2nd fret. Should end on the first.. oh yeah and almost the entire song is down picked. I know he could have done it. Still a good cover..🤘💪the solo he nailed it!

Biggest break through for me was learning the harmony pArt in this song. It’s sounds awesome and it’s challenging but not THAT hard! Keep at it. Learning guitar is an exponential process. It gets so much easier 😀👍
