I've owned a Xtreme 2 and currently have a XB40 and honestly I always wished that Sony had a real rival to the Xtreme speaker as it's really good. Only issue is the Xtreme 2 doesn't do anything well besides bass and that's only a third of the listening experience. To see the mids and highs shining on the XB43 is really great :) I'm buying this as soon as it's out here in Australia. I was tempted to buy an Xtreme 2 again but after seeing the 43 and listening to it I really think it's going to be great, especially if you dive into the eq and you can easily get some more bass out of this 😁😁

The XB41 was downgraded in making somehow. I remember having it nearly two year ago, it was very fine and loud, then gave it to a friend and tried to buy them again a few weeks ago ... I sent them back due to the poor quality, even the Sony logo wasn't the same as before. And it was directly from Sony so no fake possible :D I hope the XB33 sounds good too, I remember having a blast with the XB30 (Which sounded better than the XB40 at his time)

xb 41 has the top volume mutch high than xb40 but base is diffrent,not in a bad way,xb41 is an upgrade for xb 40 for sure.I broke my xb 41 and i want to know what to buy xb41 or xb43...

Xtreme 2 is bassier but I would pick xb43 over it anyday. Better mid/highs, bt5 means bo delay if ur device has bt 5, u dont need high volume for bass, and for my eye xb43 WITHOUT lights looks a lot better. I have blue one and it looks like a real speaker and nicely blends into everything other than extreme 2 which looks something thta teenagers carry around to annoy people outside
I have two xb41’s. I will get this soon. I purchased the xb33 the other day and think it’s pretty nice but could use a little bit of lower bass. I believe the app has power options where you can make the battery lady shut up.🔋🔨
Speaker BASS Tester I don’t have a xb30 but I have a xb31 and a xb32 and the xb33 is definitely an improvement with better treble and a cleaner sound stage.

The higher frequency bass tones sound better and cleaner on the 41, but sometimes sound more muffled or trapped in a cardboard box. The 43 digs deeper, but it sounds messy and/or muddy (less accurate) at times. Hey, I am still rocking a now old school SRS XB3 (because of your positive review back in the day). I think that maybe with some speakers, you might want to do a second or follow-up review after they have done some break-in (my XB3 sounded better after break-in). This might give some models a better shot in terms of SQ, as they might sound too harsh or not quite "right" when brand new. Keep up the excellent content.
Finally, thanks for the video! I think RUclips was about to block me due to the amount of times I refreshed the search bar looking for this video the entire weekend haha... I think I'm sold. There's evidently a significant upgrade on the mids/highs quality thanks to the tweeters, which was my main concern and the reason why I returned the XB41 I once had. Only downside is the loudness. When I got the XB41 I thought its size/volume ratio was rather low compared to my previous XB3 (which has, I think, the best ratio in this aspect). Seeing that the XB43 is even bigger but has basically the same volume is somewhat disappointing, but it kind of compensates with its quality. XB33 would also be a great option but as Sony decided to remove the 3.5 audio jack on that one which is what I use to connect it at work, it's a no-go for me. Can't wait for them to arrive to Colombia!

Wow they actually made a decent bluetooth speaker. I wanna see the xb 43 compared to the xtreme 2. The bass has something fishy with it, same with the mids. Idk how to explain it. The upper bass was clearly a concern with the newer XB43 I found it, the Xb 43 almost sounds like it wasn't sealed properly. If you listen at 13:56 the older XB41's bass is much more deep and hefty, how its supposed to be.
Man, I thought exactly the same. The upper end of the bass was like "hmmm, not convincing", but then on the lower end the XB43 performed way better. Will have to wait until they arrive here and test personally. Regarding mids and highs, however, the XB43 seems to be way better. If that's the case when I test it, then I'm sold.
Im listening through an AIWA Exos 9. The XB43 sounds much cleaner and hits lower. The XB41 did not sound too good, the XB40 might have been more pleasant to listen to, but not as much as XB43.

Because of the tweeters, XB43 sounds better than XB41. However XB43 is expensive and heavy aprox 3kg for me as a personal point of view. May be others are also looking for XB33 which has latest hardware which may beat XB41 or vice-versa. Make a comparison video on XB33 vs XB41.

I'm so hyped for this speaker, I've been so Keen since they showed it off a couple weeks ago!! I'm curious how it sounds against the Xtreme 2. I used to own literally all the JBL speakers at one point before selling them 😂 only have the XB40 left and definitely am interested in getting the XB43 :) I hope the 43 is better than the Xtreme 2 since they've had time to completely redesign the speaker 😁😁 Sony has better features and overall better value with the app and USB-C charging and just everything seems better this time around :)
You should test the speaker again in 3 weeks or something to allow the drivers to get a bit loose, they tend to sound quiter from factory, I remember when I bought my XB-41 back in 2018, it's significally louder now, Nice video as always, brother :)

Finally a party speaker that can play calssical music with the proper details. I was near to puerchase the anker soundcore motion + a few days ago but I think I will be waiting for this even if I have to pay another 150 bucks of difference. I was expecting bass improvement and it sounds pretty much the same, yes the tweeters make the XB43 sound better, but I dont think is worth the upgrade I will stick to my XB41 for now, plus I tested the XB43 it is sooooo heavy
What's disappointing about XB43 is its weight. It's twice as heavy as the previous one and weighs 3kg. It's 1kg heavier than Extreme 3. Compared to the previous one, I think the bass has less hitting sense. I think the addition of Twitter helped him get a sense of hitting.

On its own the older xb 41 is great with excellent bass but when compared to the newer xb43 it sounds a bit muffled. didn't know I needed tweeters until now 😭😭😭
Xb41 is actually really great it just has a little more depth to it than the xb43 the 43 definitely has higher highs but less depth sucky trade off but you can turn the 43 all the way up with really clear highs

I already own the Xb41, but the xb43 sound better. But listen in my headphones the 50 60 hz frequency I fell more robust bass on the xb41, after that the bass on the xb43 it gets a little bit lower but sound a kinda strange. That's my opinion. But the xb43 sound awesome
Great review! I bought xb43 as loved my sister's xb40. Jesus the xb43 weighs twice as much as the xb40 and is not ergonomically designed to carry easily I mean it weighs 3kg! My sister takes hers on holiday with her but I wouldn't take the xb43! 1.5kg for a bit more mid and treble? 😮

hey DLX, reason for skipping the number 42 in the naming scheme is just so that they can keep a distance from a bad product and its funny that it took sony this long to realise that JBL's designs actually works.
exactly, they realized that the passive radiators on the side are much better than the front and back, in addition to adding tweeters for vocals and treble. 41 was very weak, and I thought their investment in 43 was very good and they excluded 42 for that. Now this is a decent speaker, and very beautiful.

Do we know for sure that 43 have neodymium magnets ? 41 have ferrite + battery they have the same 4900 , neodymium magnets on the speakers are the last century , by weight it is + 1.5 kg , if you need high frequencies you can unscrew them in the application by +10 db , I disassembled both speakers in my opinion as an engineer 41 holds the bar high and is better protected , 43 sinks in the water , 41 floats up , 43 has no side radiators protected , 41 has everything protected , good luck to everyone.

With pure bass and no tweeters, genres like: classical, rock,metal and some music with huge amount of vocals will sound trashy and non-articulated.

Xb41 is really muffled😂. Xb40 is still worth the money compare to xb41 in my opinion. But if xb43 is cheaper than xb40, just buy it.

Because of the tweeters, XB43 sounds better than XB41. However XB43 is expensive and heavy aprox 3kg for me as a personal point of view. May be others are also looking for XB33 which has latest hardware which may beat XB41 or vice-versa. Make a comparison video on XB33 vs XB41.
I just bought like one hour ago the xb41 and thanks this chane I immediately request an upgrade and pay the difference lol thanks for this review just for the tweeter's and in prices is only like 4 bucks due a promotion in the store lol

I'm so hyped for this speaker, I've been so Keen since they showed it off a couple weeks ago!! I'm curious how it sounds against the Xtreme 2. I used to own literally all the JBL speakers at one point before selling them 😂 only have the XB40 left and definitely am interested in getting the XB43 :) I hope the 43 is better than the Xtreme 2 since they've had time to completely redesign the speaker 😁😁 Sony has better features and overall better value with the app and USB-C charging and just everything seems better this time around :)
You should test the speaker again in 3 weeks or something to allow the drivers to get a bit loose, they tend to sound quiter from factory, I remember when I bought my XB-41 back in 2018, it's significally louder now, Nice video as always, brother :)
I doubt it would sound any different. This thing was running for about 4hrs at maximum volume before I did this recordings 🤷♂️

Would be nice to have a comparison with the older Sony line, like the srs-x55 that had those tweeter. I tried every new Sony speakers since and they are NO match to the clarity of the srs-x55. Looking forward to test against the xb43!🧐

Finally a party speaker that can play calssical music with the proper details. I was near to puerchase the anker soundcore motion + a few days ago but I think I will be waiting for this even if I have to pay another 150 bucks of difference. I was expecting bass improvement and it sounds pretty much the same, yes the tweeters make the XB43 sound better, but I dont think is worth the upgrade I will stick to my XB41 for now, plus I tested the XB43 it is sooooo heavy
What's disappointing about XB43 is its weight. It's twice as heavy as the previous one and weighs 3kg. It's 1kg heavier than Extreme 3. Compared to the previous one, I think the bass has less hitting sense. I think the addition of Twitter helped him get a sense of hitting.

How many times does the XB43 lady interrupt music with the warning, when battery is 30% or lower?
I didn't count count but I could guess around 5 times before the speaker completely died🤷♂️

Definitely a big improvement, the xb 41 was a step backwards in my opinion, but this looks like a big step forward from the xb 40 as well.

On its own the older xb 41 is great with excellent bass but when compared to the newer xb43 it sounds a bit muffled. didn't know I needed tweeters until now 😭😭😭
Xb41 is actually really great it just has a little more depth to it than the xb43 the 43 definitely has higher highs but less depth sucky trade off but you can turn the 43 all the way up with really clear highs

2 speakers of SRS - XB41 and 1 of SRS - XB 43 can be synchronized in a group through Music Center so that the same Music is output
I already own the Xb41, but the xb43 sound better. But listen in my headphones the 50 60 hz frequency I fell more robust bass on the xb41, after that the bass on the xb43 it gets a little bit lower but sound a kinda strange. That's my opinion. But the xb43 sound awesome
Great review! I bought xb43 as loved my sister's xb40. Jesus the xb43 weighs twice as much as the xb40 and is not ergonomically designed to carry easily I mean it weighs 3kg! My sister takes hers on holiday with her but I wouldn't take the xb43! 1.5kg for a bit more mid and treble? 😮

hey DLX, reason for skipping the number 42 in the naming scheme is just so that they can keep a distance from a bad product and its funny that it took sony this long to realise that JBL's designs actually works.
exactly, they realized that the passive radiators on the side are much better than the front and back, in addition to adding tweeters for vocals and treble. 41 was very weak, and I thought their investment in 43 was very good and they excluded 42 for that. Now this is a decent speaker, and very beautiful.
Hello! Do we know for sure that 43 have neodymium magnets ? 41 have ferrite + battery they have the same 4900 , neodymium magnets on the speakers are the last century , by weight it is + 1.5 kg , if you need high frequencies you can unscrew them in the application by +10 db , I disassembled both speakers in my opinion as an engineer 41 holds the bar high and is better protected , 43 sinks in the water , 41 floats up , 43 has no side radiators protected , 41 has everything protected , good luck to everyone.
The 43 smashes both but personally think the 40 sounds better than the 41
