Hi, great review, just wondering if this speaker will pair with my sony NW-A55L walkman
If you pair 2 XB33 in stereo - will it 'save' your selection for the future? or will you have to repeat the same pairing (pressing buttons etc.) every time from the beginning?
Is it ok to keep it plugged (charging) while playing (...or is it even possible?)?
I'm looking for small-ish speakers with decent sound for everyday laptop use at home, portability is not a huge necessity, so I don't mind keeping it plugged. I was wondering if these (or Bluetooth speakers in general) are a good choice for me.

I was looking at the Sony xb41 or the Sony xb33 or the ue megablast, I want something louder than the charge 4 and with good sound, thanks.

Basically a circle fits inside of a square. Kinda like kicker subwoofers.
I've used party mode, they don't appear to react to the music, it looks like a pre-programmed routine to me.

For those who asked for a sound test: that's not possible because you can't communicate sound quality via RUclips. For that please go to the store and take a listen by yourself and then you can pick the speaker you like. So many brands and model options. Hearing is subjective!

Haven't seen any actually but you better try not to drop it or knock it in anyway. Sony is built like a tank but better safe than sorry!

Sonos move vs Sony srs-xb43 which has better sound, not money wise but the performance, which one I should buy

Just listen to both (if possible) and make your choice. Sony includes LDAC and this alone is a winner feature worth mentioning. Also IP67 (more durable)
4.5 hours for the xb43 charge time using its own adapter
You don't need to be a University student to enjoy the lights. The lights are great for ambiance
and chilling out at home.
You can run this through the Sony equaliser app or another 3rd party equaliser (recommended).
For the price Sony could've included the adapter.

Unfortunately not. This is primarily a portable speaker so manufacturers do not add HDMI's to their products. I hope this helps.
I got this speaker and was really happy with it. I got a second speaker to have stereo and a bit more volume and here is where my problem starts; adding an extra speaker doesn't increase volume, it only adds stereo. The volume is limited to the same as one speaker. I'm really annoyed about this!
I don't get it. You've got 2 speakers. How don't 2 speakers sound 2x loud than 1 speaker?
@@stanislavvasil9879 that's a good question that I don't have an answer to. The sound is wider with both speakers linked in stereo or party mode but it's no louder (I have confirmed this with an audio meter), I've also noticed that one speaker is always a bit quieter than the other, usually the right speaker has less volume than the left. I've tried switching which speaker is left and right, it makes no difference. I think what's happening is that the Bluetooth connection is always established with whatever device I use through the left speaker, the left speaker connects to the right speaker and then feeds the audio to it, instead of each speaker connecting individually, like my Sony Wf-1000XM4 ear buds do. This seems to have an impact on the right channels volume output.

The ear is, essentially, a logarithmic device. In other words, something that is twice as strong will not sound twice as loud.
The rule of thumb in speaker loudness is that something twice as powerful is barely noticed as an increase, and something 10 times as strong sounds twice as loud.
Using dB, a 3 dB increase is barely perceptible, and a 10 dB increase sounds twice as loud.
So, to answer the question, the two speakers working together will give a barely perceptible increase in loudness.
I'm stuck between Marshall emberton and this, same price but Marshall is more portable but I'm guessing this has better sound quality.
Hi Ciaran, they are actually very close in terms of sound quality. As the Sony is the larger speaker, naturally you do get a bit better bass but we were very impressed with the overall detail of the Emberton too!

Yes, absolutely!
Yes! But kindly consider this lessens it's bass performance a bit (one of the passive radiators is facing down to the surface)

I have just got it as a Christmas present and we are going to return it. For me it is overall disappointing. We have bought JBL few years ago and the battery is broken down now so we were looking for replacement and we hoped that Sony might be a good shot. Well, it is not. In comparison with JBL the corpus doesn't feel as durable, the plastics seem just cheaper, the party lights seem and work like at some toy I would buy at Aliexpress. And what is most important for me, the sound quality, is just not good. If I consider how quite big the speaker is, it doesn't fill the space at all. It feels like if it only played forward, the extra bass doesn't sound any extra, instruments and vocals are not balanced at all. It really doesn't do any justice to my favourite songs (eg Radiohead). I read only good reviews for this speaker everywhere and I start to wonder that they are written by some Sony trolls, lol :)

And yet you may not like there sound signature
But they sound mostly balance compared to jbl with bright sound signature
Lights are a con but you can turn them off. I don't get these reviews
The fatal drawback of this speaker is the very low battery capacity (2600 mAh), when compared to the amount of sound output, it is very unbalanced, especially when coupled with the lights... It should be like Charge 4 or Motion+ (+-7000 mAh).

I dont believe that sound is subjective . If something sounds good it sounds good , some people just cant figure that out
Very stupid doing an in-depth review of a speaker without sound clips.
That's actually honest my friend. You just CAN'T communicate sound quality on a RUclips video. No matter how expensive your binaural microphone, mixer and ADCs. It's just not fair and leads to misconception.
