I agree ... And it shows in this video. Some are so lame and cringe and some are clever wits in action - although I'm not a fan AND am inclined to hate on the big ol phoney baloney, I gotta admit: I was super impressed with "Jim" Fallon's jabber while inhabiting the celebrities
That was the thing with most ventriloquists: talented, trained but terribly unfunny. That said, the one impression that impressed me the most was not funny: Morgan Freeman's (16:03). There's bad, good, great and funny, but that one was a little terrifying, and it helps that he used the exact phrase Morgan said in the movie (and the sound quality helps too).

The video of his audition for SNL is hilarious. It's a very small group you're playing to in that audition and they're a tough audience, and he had them rolling.
I saw it when it happened and Spacey, doing Al Pacino, while Pacino is sitting right next to him, that was the funniest thing I've ever seen on late night TV 🤣
Peter Falk actually had a glass eye it wasn't a lazy eye. He had cancer in his eye as a little boy. And his eye was removed. Actress Sandy Duncan also had a glass eye. I always noticed glass eyes as a kid because my mom lost her eye as a child to a paper airplane. She lived her childhood with a deformed pupil. In her late teens early twenties she had to have to eye removed due to terrible head aches and had a glass eye replacing it. You should look up Peter Falk and glass eye. It will give the full story. The best thing that ever been filmed is 50 cent performing In Da Club with Jim Carrey dancing next to him on stage...
Proof that Al Pacino has a sense of humor.
