I really love the packout system. In my van (2017 sprinter low roof) It had aluminum shelves in it so i took the middle shelf out and installed three packout mounting bases. I have one 3 drawer packout box. Dont put too much stuff in the drawers because they will sag and interfere with the drawer below. It would be nice if the reinforced the bottoms of the drawers with a sheet of aluminum to prevent the sagging. In all the other area i used the standard stackable packout boxes and they are amazing. Very stout and have the rubber gasket to keep the humidity out so all my new parts stay nice and clean. I have to take some boxes down to get to an item i need thats in a lower box but still its totally manageable. Very good system. I feel like you’d give up too usable room going with this shelving/drawer system. It is nice but i couldnt justify the cost. However being organized is incredibly valuable in itself. I really do like what milwaukee has done these last few years.
I’m actually kind of convincing my dad to get packout in our work van and honestly… I’d probably be getting into some of these for sure. I can totally see this working out. I just have to find out when and where I can get these racks.
These are great for small parts like screws and such, not so much for tools. I'd much ratter have shelves where you can see where everything is. You just grab and go, no messing around and at the end of the day, these boxes take so much space for what you can put inside. I bet you can fit twice as much stuff with shelves and tool racks.
Though I was a big fan of Packout, I recently started to switch to systainers. No doubt packout is a tougher system, but I find actually loading those tool boxes to their capacity makes them a pain to move around.
@@jonathanartaux2856 yeah definitely some trades and applications with me durability of the pack out makes a lot of sense. I don’t think there’s anything out there that it is asdurable.
