    All those tools and you had to have Home Depot cut the 1x4! All of that stuff looks new. Looks to me like you have tools that you don't know how to use.

      Bill, I have to admit, you’ve called me out on this! I had Home Depot cut the wood because I don’t know what I’m doing. The tools look brand new because they can’t be used for their intended purposes. They are non functioning display tools I got from a Home Depot that was going out of business. They even have the lead weights in them to make them feel heavy but they are 100% fake. You are absolutely right - If they were real, I wouldn’t know how to use them anyways. The batteries are empty aftermarket replacement shells I got off Amazon and then I plastered Milwaukee stickers all over them. They are bogus and just for show. Even the entire PACKOUT wall is a shameless Chinese counterfeit I got off Alibaba for $75 shipped - shhhhh 🤫 don’t tell anyone 😉 It’s a mystery how I’ve gotten through life this long being clueless the way that I am. I really don’t know what I’m doing. I need professional help.

    Im in the process of changing my entire shop in my basement. Im putting 4 packout cabinets across the top. I have the tool stations the mini shelf’s the plier holder and screw driver holder.

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад +1

      I’m sure you’ll be super happy with the results. The cabinets are quite nice. You might already be aware of this, but you’ll need four large wall plates to mount the four cabinets. You’ll still have two horizontal slots per wall plate to be able to put the tool stations and shelves and tool racks. The cabinets use four slots across and three slots down if that helps.

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад

      Don’t worry, DeWalt will come up with something. In order to be competitive they all copy off each other - apple copies off android and vice versa. Ryobi and Milwaukee are owned by the same parent company so it makes sense. When I first saw the Ryobi setup I was very impressed and was thinking to myself that surely Milwaukee will come out with something soon. They’ve really taken the PACKOUT concept and run with it. I imagine dewilt will have their answer to the Milwaukee storage system soon, if it’s not already in the works. Of course, besides the battery holders, nothing is stopping you from using the Milwaukee system with your dewilt tools.

    • @ILruffian
      @ILruffian 2 года назад +1

      Minh is on the money. Techtronic owns both Ryobi and Milwaukee. If you follow things closely, you see that they use Ryobi for testing (read: proof of concept) and then use what they learned to release Milwaukee versions about a year later. Backpack chemical sprayer, track saw, storage wall. You name it, if you look back the Ryobi comes out a year earlier. Only thing I disagree with is DeWalt catching up. They may do something to try. But Ryobi and Milwaukee are running shit right now with regard to innovation.

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад

      @@ILruffian I never thought about that but it makes perfect sense! Super nice setup!! Nice vid! I am just starting to build my own setup. I have a question about the paper in the paper-holder. Where do you get the paper-rolls that fits nice in the holder? I have yet to find the type of paper that fits the holder in an optimal way. It`s either too wide, to long or to much inner diameter.. an so forth.. any help appreciated 🙂 Thanks again!

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg

      Thank you for your comments! I’ve never tried to put any other type of paper towel rolls in the holder, but these are blue shop towels made by the Scott paper company. You can find them in the automotive section at Walmart. I was able to buy mine in bulk at Costco. They also sell them online on Amazon. They are absorbent and they work better for Shop use versus household paper towels, which tend to be more absorbent, but they also fall apart easier.

      @@JanMartinMelum Wow for $9.50 a roll I would be afraid to use them up! Here in the states, they can be found for under $3 a roll and even less if bought in bulk. I get mine in a 12 pack and I go through them quickly. Hopefully you can do some shopping around and find them cheaper where you live, that sounds unreasonable. They aren’t *that* special. Glad you were able to find them and solve the mystery of the ill fitting paper towels!

      Some of the tools and batteries are relatively new. The 12 amp hour ones came with my lawnmower which are a few months old. The random orbital polisher was just released a couple months ago. I’ve had six batteries replaced under warranty due to heavy use. But make those mistake about it, I use all my tools. I do not treat them like museum pieces. I’ve had my impact wrenches and ratchet so greasy and dirty that you could hardly see the red plastic through them. I cleaned them thoroughly with goof off which made them look nearly new. Some of the batteries have splatter all over them from polishing and waxing or whatever else and some are greasy and I even have one that’s broken where the top has detached from the bottom casing but it still works otherwise fine. My tools aren’t there to look pretty, I love the organization.

      Just an FYI, unless you have a personal articles policy specifically covering your tools, you’re not going to get much money out of the insurance company to replace them. Typically tools and other miscellaneous items are covered up to 1.5k (sometimes even less) on homeowners policies. Most people are tragically misinformed about their own insurance policies and they think it covers everything up to replacement cost, which none of them do. If you want that coverage you must elect to have it, and pay for it. Source: it’s my job.

      😆 😂 I am definitely not rich - this was an accumulation of tools over an approximately 5 year period. I think the MSRP of the all the items shown are probably closer to $5,000 than $10,000. I am not a tradesman or have a job that requires the use of tools like that. As much as I would have loved to loot a Home Depot during times of civil unrest, that didn’t happen. I got lucky a few times with the “buy this battery / tool, get this battery / tool for free” promotions at the Home Despot. I am an average guy with an average job. I have a penchant for DIY, especially for things concerning automotive repair and maintenance. I am not a mechanic, but I can watch the RUclips video and save myself thousands of dollars rebuilding a car suspension, wheel bearing replacement, valve cover replacement, cleaning EGR system, etc. The money I save I put towards the tools that will make these jobs easier. During the time I’ve owned both my cars they have never been to a service shop for any repairs. I do all the maintenance on my cars. There have been times the Milwaukee impact guns and ratchet have gotten so greasy and oily that the red plastic parts were completely covered. Cleaning them with goofy off makes them look nearly new. Some batteries have become broken and detached at the top cover but still work fine and other batteries have splatter flung all over them from whatever tool I was using. Do your 4 - 6 guy crews buy their own tools or are they provided the tools by the company?

      Thom, I’m not sure where you are in the world, but I am in the United States. I got mine at Home Depot, here is the link below to shop for the individual modules:

    What bracket (or part #) are you using to hang the m18 leaf blower off of? Please advise.

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад

      In the video the leaf blower is just resting on the 6” Curved Hook 48-22-8331. It’s not actually hanging on anything. Alternatively you can use the 9” Straight Hook 48-22-8330.

      Thank you. You are not the first to comment on that. My tools all get used, they do have wear and stains on them, it doesn’t show very well on the video. I am not a tradesman or professional that works with the tools on a daily basis. As I said, I am an average Joe.

    Do items lock into place so system could be portable in a van or trailer?

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад +1

      Great question. All the mounts have either a van 🚐 icon or a van icon with a slash through it. 🚫 🚐 I just examined all of my mounts and the only items with an approved van icon are the m12 and m18 battery holders as well as the paper towel holder. The shelves, hooks, accessory cups and tool stations have the “no van” icon. The small and large bins don’t say one way or the other nor does the cabinet. Of course nothing is stopping you from using any of the mounts in a van but due to the jostling nature of a vehicle’s suspension you can’t reasonably expect things to stay in place by using the non van approved items.

    all those tools and you have home depot cut the wood for you?

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  2 года назад

      Someone has already mentioned that. I don’t work with wood very often and I have hand tools if I do. My emphasis is more on automotive work. Home Depot cuts it for free and makes it all that much shorter to better fit in my car as well. 9 foot of wood can be unwieldly in a car.
