  • If you have any questions please ask! If I’ve made your purchasing decision easier I would love to hear about it in the comments!! Please see below for important information about installation methods and options:
    From Milwaukee:
    • Milwaukee® PACKOUT™ Wa...
    From A Concord Carpenter:
    • Milwaukee PACKOUT Shop...
    Milwaukee describes the method to attach to wood studs. A Concord Carpenter demonstrates three methods of mounting - blocking between studs, horizontal strapping (which is what I did) and sheathing the wall in plywood.
    Huge shout out to Bill @ammerconsulting who recommends mounting 3/4 inch plywood to the wall to serve as a foundation for the Milwaukee PACKOUT wall plates along with fastener suggestions. He goes on further to say:
    "That way there is no limit as to where you can put screws. A screw designed for wood has a sharper tip and there is less chance of splitting the wood, especially when the screw is placed at the end of the board. There are also screws that have a larger head, much like a washer that helps to spread the load and keep the screw head from pulling through the material. GRK makes a line of great cabinet installation screws with larger washer heads."
    Thanks Bill!

    All those tools and you had to have Home Depot cut the 1x4! All of that stuff looks new. Looks to me like you have tools that you don't know how to use.

      Bill, I have to admit, you’ve called me out on this! I had Home Depot cut the wood because I don’t know what I’m doing. The tools look brand new because they can’t be used for their intended purposes. They are non functioning display tools I got from a Home Depot that was going out of business. They even have the lead weights in them to make them feel heavy but they are 100% fake. You are absolutely right - If they were real, I wouldn’t know how to use them anyways. The batteries are empty aftermarket replacement shells I got off Amazon and then I plastered Milwaukee stickers all over them. They are bogus and just for show. Even the entire PACKOUT wall is a shameless Chinese counterfeit I got off Alibaba for $75 shipped - shhhhh 🤫 don’t tell anyone 😉 It’s a mystery how I’ve gotten through life this long being clueless the way that I am. I really don’t know what I’m doing. I need professional help.

      I’m sure you’ll be super happy with the results. The cabinets are quite nice. You might already be aware of this, but you’ll need four large wall plates to mount the four cabinets. You’ll still have two horizontal slots per wall plate to be able to put the tool stations and shelves and tool racks. The cabinets use four slots across and three slots down if that helps.

    • @ILruffian

      Minh is on the money. Techtronic owns both Ryobi and Milwaukee. If you follow things closely, you see that they use Ryobi for testing (read: proof of concept) and then use what they learned to release Milwaukee versions about a year later. Backpack chemical sprayer, track saw, storage wall. You name it, if you look back the Ryobi comes out a year earlier. Only thing I disagree with is DeWalt catching up. They may do something to try. But Ryobi and Milwaukee are running shit right now with regard to innovation.

Now that it is cold where I live I can use those 12 amp hours for any of my other tools. The leaf blower is great for a small jobs and blowing out my garage. I still have a gas powered Stihl BG 86 leaf blower which is stronger than the single battery Milwaukee leaf blower. What would be super cool is if I had the dual battery leaf blower. Maybe it would give the Stihl BG 86 a run for its money. The Milwaukee leaf blower is great when it’s 3 AM and I just wanna blow a few things out of my garage and not bother the neighbors, because I’m a nice guy and all ;)

    Super nice setup!! Nice vid! I am just starting to build my own setup. I have a question about the paper in the paper-holder. Where do you get the paper-rolls that fits nice in the holder? I have yet to find the type of paper that fits the holder in an optimal way. It`s either too wide, to long or to much inner diameter.. an so forth.. any help appreciated 🙂 Thanks again!

      Thank you for your comments! I’ve never tried to put any other type of paper towel rolls in the holder, but these are blue shop towels made by the Scott paper company. You can find them in the automotive section at Walmart. I was able to buy mine in bulk at Costco. They also sell them online on Amazon. They are absorbent and they work better for Shop use versus household paper towels, which tend to be more absorbent, but they also fall apart easier.

I am not a tradesman or have a job that requires the use of tools like that. As much as I would have loved to loot a Home Depot during times of civil unrest, that didn’t happen. I got lucky a few times with the “buy this battery / tool, get this battery / tool for free” promotions at the Home Despot. I am an average guy with an average job. I have a penchant for DIY, especially for things concerning automotive repair and maintenance. I am not a mechanic, but I can watch the RUclips video and save myself thousands of dollars rebuilding a car suspension, wheel bearing replacement, valve cover replacement, cleaning EGR system, etc. The money I save I put towards the tools that will make these jobs easier. During the time I’ve owned both my cars they have never been to a service shop for any repairs. I do all the maintenance on my cars. There have been times the Milwaukee impact guns and ratchet have gotten so greasy and oily that the red plastic parts were completely covered. Cleaning them with goofy off makes them look nearly new. Some batteries have become broken and detached at the top cover but still work fine and other batteries have splatter flung all over them from whatever tool I was using. Typically tools and other miscellaneous items are covered up to 1.5k (sometimes even less) on homeowners policies. Most people are tragically misinformed about their own insurance policies and they think it covers everything up to replacement cost, which none of them do. Even the entire PACKOUT wall is a shameless Chinese counterfeit I got off Alibaba for $75 shipped - shhhhh 🤫 don’t tell anyone 😉

      @@tipsreviews7476 I’ve had several comments about the like-new condition of my tools. There are indeed smudges, marks and scratches on them. I am not a tradesman or professional, I am more of a DIY guy with a focus on auto mechanics and maintenance. My tools do get greasy and dirty and when they get bad enough, I clean them with goofy off or spray 9 to remove the grease. I’ve had them so greasy the red plastic was barely showing through. I try to keep them clean because I don’t want my hands to get greasy or dirty. I am sorry but not sorry that my tools don’t look used or beat up enough for some viewers. When I was contemplating getting the wall organization system I went onto RUclips to look for first hand video from real end users only to find out to my dismay that there weren’t any videos. There were only ads and commercials and stock footage from the manufacturer. The reason I made the video was to give insight to potential purchasers who might be on the fence about the PACKOUT wall system and to help answer any questions they might have. At the time of the video posting mine was the first review of these products. I never thought I would have to fend off comments about how my tools look brand new like they’ve never been used. There are marks and smudges on them like I said, but maybe the RUclips video compression does a good job of evening out the colors? Maybe there are some people out there who consider it a mark of machismo that their tools are all beat up to hell and back but I am not that way. I have nothing to prove and I don’t owe anyone an explanation.

    all those tools and you have home depot cut the wood for you?

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  Год назад

      Someone has already mentioned that. I don’t work with wood very often and I have hand tools if I do. My emphasis is more on automotive work. Home Depot cuts it for free and makes it all that much shorter to better fit in my car as well. 9 foot of wood can be unwieldly in a car.

    So what was the total cost for all of the storage system items, as shown, without the tools?
    Do you have a number you can share with us?

    • @MinhNguyen-ot1zg
      @MinhNguyen-ot1zg  Год назад

      It was around $1140 shipped. It was 6 wall plates, two 2 packs of tool stations (4 total), two 2 packs of M18 battery racks, (4 total), two 2 packs of M12 battery racks (4 total), one large hook, one straight utility hook, 2 pack curved hooks, 2 pack small hooks, 4 pack compact shelf, 2 pack large bins, 2 pack small bins, 2 pack organizer cups, one paper towel roll holder, one cabinet. I went on the Milwaukee website and there is a place where you can “build your Packout” where it simulates all the attachments. So that is how I figured out what I needed. If you buy the multi packs on Home Depot it will save you about $5 versus buying all the pieces a la carte.
