I liked the subwoofer build but saw you were using binding posts. Are you powering them from a stereo amp, and do you need a low pass filter? Are they intended to be a passive sub? Thank you
This is an older video, however I've been on the fence on what subwoofers to grab. Context: Home theater, but small. 10x15 room, living room, not like it's a dedicated theater room. I built a 1 cubic foot (internal volume with bracing included) box. I'm at the driver stage and I'm doing PVC ports. I don't know which driver to go with. I was looking at the Dayton Audio RSS210HO-4 8", however the problem here is simply "Is this the right driver for the size". I'm looking for 2 smaller box's, which is why I opted no larger than an outward dimension of just under a 14" cube. 2 of them. One in each corner to compliment each respective bookshelf. Would you say this driver, the Tang band, may be a better option for a smaller enclosure? It's important to note that the primary LR speakers do hit a solid low frequency, but not below 45hz. I am looking for that cinema 30hz or so rumble. Suggestions? If so, consider a video idea with this! Because there's probably a lot of people in the same boat. Not many people "want" massive subwoofer boxes but want a quality DIY subwoofer.
That reference series sub you mention is well know for its ability to perform well in a small sealed enclosure, but it is a lot more expensive than the tang band. With your small space consider this: ruclips.net/video/fr7aCSPtNq0/видео.html
Yep, no crossover. I've been running it in a 2.1 system off of a date and audio amplifier that has a crossover. You can find a plans right below the video. If it doesn't pop up as the first couple of choices you might have to click on one of the other plans and that'll take you to where I sell the plans.
Great upload sir!! Looks great and you made it look easy.. can a 🌽... 😁 Random thought, but that driver always reminds me of the first time I heard a W7. Good times👍🏽

I have not measured it, but according to WINisd it peaks at 43 HZ has an f3 of 33 HZ. I did play a few test tones and to my ear it seems to be tuned just a bit higher. Could be due to the polyfill. I can always take that out.
We did 2 of these, in a T-Line enclosure, in an extended cab truck, for giggles. Man , they were impressive!
That sounds cool!
I've been waiting for this
It has been sitting on a workbench, 90% complete, for about 2 weeks! I had time yesterday to wrap it up and edit the video.
Can you please do a 4 inch subwoofer build which goes down at least 60-40hz?
I picked up your set of plans for this build. Highly detailed and easy to follow. This little thing rocks!
I'm glad that it turned out well!
Awesome build. Wanted to build one of these for the tang band for a while.
It was a lot of fun!

How big in litere its this box...
No crossover so you are assuming an external crossover to avoid unwanted high frequencies? Where are the plans for the box?

Tere prill,vägev kast!😁
Great Job. I build two of these subs for my Ikea TV Lowboard. Works pretty well
If you need a compact subwoofer there is nothing that can hang with these little Tang Bands.
Have you ever build a closed Box with a DSP Biquad EQ for the Tang Bands and compared this to a ported Box?
Can the measurements be used with 3/4 mdf?
You just need to account for the extra thickness, .25" in each direction.
medicao dessa caixa qual é?
BTW nice build!!
I'm glad you like it!

Thanks man! I really like the textured coating, makes for a great finish and hard to mess up.
Duratex it's what u used??
Yes, it is my favorite way to finish a speaker. bit.ly/3iYbnXp Parts express carries it, plus another brand that appears to be the same thing.
Where can i get the schematics of the box, to try to build it?
These plans are available to my patrons on patreon.
Is that just a full range driver?
Nope it's a small subwoofer.
@@DIYAudioGuy What is the difference? Does it have a filter built in?
You not mentioned 😢the size of
Is it homeshake sub?
Never heard of homeshake.
Very nice woek Sir👍Is that textured coating available in any more colors?
Just black and white, I think you can tint the white.
@@DIYAudioGuy i can mix them together for grey🤣👍
I'm not convinced that amount of bracing is necessary for a sub of this wattage. By no means is it hurting anything but it seems overkill.
You are probably right. I have been experimenting with bracing over the years, trying to figure out what helps and what does not.
Can you provide the real size of the enclosure
Absolutely, full plans are available for my patrons over on patreon. Check the link in the video description.
frequency response?
f3 is around 30 hz, fb is around 35 hz
@@DIYAudioGuy looks good man. got build plans?

Loved it! Have you measured a frequency response for it? Or have one that you calculated? If so I think I might build one, it looks great!

Bro.can you give dimensions for the box.

👌
This sub was just meant to be used in a T-Line in my opinion.
It would work well in a t line.
This is a bass
