  • This is a 10 mm representation of the armies of the allies, England, Holland, Prussia and Austria and other German states during the war of the Spanish succession 1701 to 1714. it’s done in 10 mm using Pendragon figures.
I use black powder with a variant to play with these figures.

always great to see your armies Kevin. War of Spanish Succession is really interesting and the armies have a lot of character, its too bad its overshadowed by later 18th century conflicts in wargaming

Thanks so much...Im uploading now the French...They are really massive thats for sure....I should have started with 10mm on my whole collection ..I could downsize my home considerably :-) they take up a fraction of the space!

10mm looks really good Kevin. I started some British in 6mm using Baccus, and they paint up really quickly and look great en masse. Inspirational as always, thank you for sharing.

Fantastic, the 10mm scale does convey the grand scope of these armies

Yeah, it’s a very big army. We couldn’t even play with all of it on the table 9 feet long. It actually form three lines. It was pretty amazing.

My favorite time period. Just trying to find simple rules to play at home.

The twilight of the Sun King is a fairly simple set of rules that works really great. And no, not too expensive. Black powder is also a fairly straightforward simple set up rules to be honest.

This war is always talked about Marlborough, France, Bavaria... it is never worth talking about the Spaniards themselves. Curiously, Spain in its own war of Succession was the figurehead who bore the costs. And on top of that, of the two bad candidates, it was left with the one who was crazy 🐸🐸

You are absolutely right there is actually multiple theaters of this conflict. We just got done doing a very strategic game with my group. Spain was certainly present and so was Portugal and other kingdoms minor they might have been. But the armies of Spain were under the thumb of Louis. And dealing with their own conflict internal to Spain that of the Hapsburg faction. I’m still reading about this conflict which is very very difficult and somewhat confusing. But that’s the beauty of history. We all learn at our own pace. And we all help each other. I’ve had many commentsfrom different people. But I hope you like the army nonetheless.
