When you hear pieces such as this you know Vivaldi’s was in a playful mood. I think this instrument is very under appreciated
honestly do vivaldi sorrow pieces exist? I feel that every piece of his i've listened to feels like dancing, gracious, elegant, like flying just slightly touching the ground...I'd love to listen to his 'sad' pieces too..
@@NewFelixTwo Quite a lot actually. A lot of Vivaldi's second movements can easily fit in for sad moments
Under appreciated would be an understatement the rich beautiful sound the massive range and how difficult it is making beautiful solos like this all the more impressive and yet so many people don't even know what a bassoon is

One of the most melodic of the 37 concertos for solo bassoon composed by Vivaldi. I've heard multiple versions of it previously, but this one, by a young soloist, has not only freshness but also a delicate, soft attack. You don't hear the key sounds, very smooth playing with great passion and tenderness for the music at hand. Bravissimo Poland!

The bassoon has to be my absolute favorite woodwind of them all, the highlight of any orchestra, in my opinion
Хотел поставить лайка, а оказалось, что пару лет назад уже поставил. Концерты Вивальди для фагота - моя вечная любовь. Столько в них умиротворения и суровой нежности. Будто старый моряк танцует один под дождём на ноябрьском причале.

I always enjoy the bassoon, but haven't until now heard it as a solo instrument. This young lady has really got the most out of it, a stunning performance from her, the conductor and the rest of this young and extremely talented orchestra. And, of course another winner for the excelent Vivaldi.

It’s actually a common solo woodwind instrument. Next to the flute, bassoon is the most common woodwind instrument to play solo.
@@caterscarrots3407 in all orchestras there is one player that plays a long note, middle C, for the instrument players to tune to. This is usually done by the Concertmaster, on violin. However live also heard the Bassoonist do this. I suspect it’s because is such a deep and powerful instrument that is easily heard.

I didn't realize bassoon should sound so good.
I love, just love the bassoon. It’s like the cello in quite a few aspects(versatility, registers, similar warmth to the tone). In fact, I am composing a woodwind trio and I’m thinking of having the bassoon as part of the trio because of the versatility.

Whoever or what ever posted this performance to my RUclips opening page should get a substantial raise in pay. This was the highlight of my day. The conductor was fantastic. The bassoonist was amazing. Her sound, dynamics, articulations, and technique were beautiful and had me enthralled. The conductor knew what she wanted and got it from the orchestra. This performance needs to be sold on a compact disc. It has been a very long time since I had heard something this beautiful out of a bassoonist. This was long overdue and well worth the listen. I am definitely going to be listening to this again and maybe again . . . .
Are you going to master it on bari sax? I'd love to hear that - maybe a jazz version with double bass, piano, and drums (brushes). Must admit this piece has been in my head for the last 20 years after I had it on repeat while studying for high school exams. One of my favourites of all time!

Props to the soloist here. A lovely piece performed with great feeling and warmth. Standing to play this instrument is at best an unwieldy adventure and at worst a miserable experience, but she seems to overcome it well. This is one of my favorite concertos.

I am quite moved by the sight of young talented musicians that keep the legacy of old masters alive and touching our hearts. Only the delicate human touch, virtuosity and musicianship extract from those instruments the sounds and harmonies that inspired musicians to compose these masterpieces. Of his many of concertos, we are grateful that Vivaldi gave the spotlight to the humble bassoon many times with its distinctive sound to the delight of many music lovers.
