@@BlueberryStinkFinger62 Agreed, other countries have stepped up their build quality which makes the market more competitive and affordable for the consumer. I have benefited from this market since my last two Yamaha acoustic guitars were built in China. They both are quality builds and sound great! I got a lot for the money I put down to purchase these fine instruments. In, fact I play them everyday and I love the tone they produce.
The original strap buttons were V shaped and flat, they didn't get in the way of your hand. Unfortunately they would catch the opening of the strap and spin in a circle until they stripped out.
I have the Ibanez pro line Randy Rhoads V that they came out with in this run. Obviously it's not a RR but it looks almost exactly like one shape wise and Ibanez had to stop making it because Jackson's panties were in a wad. I love the guitar though it's pearl white with straight string pull, no headstock angle. Still has original pickups and case I got it on CL for $300 5 years ago and it still rips I think mine is an 85.
I had never seen one of these till i noticed Michael jacksons guitar player with one. I thought it was so bizarre cause to me, its a Rhoads, but id never seen an ibanez one before that
FYI the correct model number for this guitar is PL1660 which was the bolt-on neck. PL is for Pro-Line. The neck-thru version is a model PL 2660.
I had this in cream white. I loved it so much. Swapped out one of the pickups for an active EMG.
The guitar appears to be in exceptional condition for the year it was manufactured. Also, those Japanese sure know how to build quality guitars.
They all know how to build quality Guitars today..not just Japan..Mexico Indonesia China Vietnam they all craft professional quality Guitars
