I recommend having both stores open between 11 AM and 2PM to catch the lunch crowd. Before my "work from home" days, when I was at the office, I'd often eat a quick lunch and drop by a local music store for a visit.
Congrats on the second store Dane. I've followed you since you had your first small shop a few years back. Great to see you growing and expanding. All the best.
This is awesome news. Congratulations. 2 miles is close. I was hoping it would be in Tucson were I live. There's a guitar shop downtown but the owners have zero personality, and only are interested in used guitars and amps, they don't want or sell pedals. Zimms had a large selection of pedals when I was there. Who's going to man the camera if you and Brighton are in different locations? Hopefully Tucson is in the cards one day, I'm retired and would volunteer to help you get started. ✌️ Dave Tucson 🌵
Your story about buying a bass reminded me of a bass that I got in the 60's. In 1967 my Dad bought me a brand new Fender Bassman and a Crestwood Violin Bass. The bass was a cheapo, it worked but I wanted something better but it was better than the bass that I already had. I owned the bass for around 1 1/2 -2 years. I was riding my bicycle by this Piano music store near my house. On the wall was hanging a 1961 Jazz Bass. I was Drooling. I asked the store owner if they took trades, he said yes. I said, can I make payments? We worked out a deal where I'd come in every two weeks and I'd pay them. I forget the amount, probably $10 or something like that. Anyhow, he let me take my new Jazz Bass. I come in two weeks later to make my first payment. The store was completely gone. Not a piano, not a bass, not anything! I ended up trading my Cheapo Bass for a 1961 Fender Jazz Bass. Pretty Cool, I did feel bad but they never returned.😊
Congratulations on your 2nd location 🎉 great news for you and all musicians. Growth is good 👍. I live in a relatively smaller city with few music stores.
2018-2020 I took piano lessons through The Music Store in the studios that were next door. Bought an amp and cabinet in there too. I was wondering what happened to it and just a couple of weeks ago I was looking it up and realized it had been closed.
Congrats Dane! Good to see business is good. Remember to invest in the door handle as well 🤣🤣 For a marketing perspective (I used to own a restaurant) always keep the price visible, that's the first thing a paying customer hooks on 👍
Have one online buyers day,we see something we want ,by you showing guitars and tags in an episode, yep go thru each guitar quickly and price and move on to the next,we buy by email, you ship it and spend the rest of the month shipping,I think you could sell out in one day, just by doing this without really calling it a sale, you want it get a hold of you kind of thing, every time you show your inventory I see something I want, I think you started offering shipping right, hope so thanks.
Congratulations. Good luck. I'm glad you were able to expand!!!!!!!!! I would love to stop by sometime if I'm ever in the area. I'm afraid I'd spend too much money. Have a great day!
Happy for you Dane! You got a great shop and your providing a valuable service to guitar players and their families! Swing by Zimm's and grab a T-Shirt and check out some guitars! And they even have S.I.T. strings from Akron, OH!
y0 Zimm! I really dig what you do. The bringing old beat up guitars back to life is a hobby of mine and watching your videos doing the same inspires me. Maybe someday I'll find myself in AZ. and get a chance to meet you. I went to teespring but unfortunately there aren't any in my size. It would be great if there were some fatboy sizes. A 6xl tall would be awesome.
dude ive got like 150 guitars i need to get rid of and 88 percent of them are kick a$$ guitars that are in good shape.fender, epiphone les pauls and es models,Gretch.squire strats, gibsons and just a bunch of them but id have to get a good deal for them cause they aint junk.ive got a bunch of tube amps and parts as well.im wanting to get a muscle car and need to move those to do so.they would look good hanging in the new store
right on dane the location makes sense to not have things in storage instead of in the shop to sell I was always on larry that all of our pa gear shouldn’t be down the street in a mini storage bigger than the actual store footage was… you bought this spot from John Paul? I forgot about that guy, I went to mcc with him, I like your thought of by appointment only it works for so many reasons man, happy to see things are going well if your thinking of a across town location there’s a spot about the same size open at 36th st and Indianschool right across the street from a school of rock… I gotta get off the couch and take a trip to planet mesa to see ya, all the best! ✌️ manstis
Awesome and sending strong karma. You have an edge in the market knowing your products, genuine passion for the music and you’re directly involved with day to day customer service. 😊😊😊
Im happy for you, I wish I could do what you do,goes to show uf someone whats to do something bad enough they can and will, I live in springfield,mo. We have a few guitar stores here like guitar center of coarse and other mom and pop music stores nothing huge ,id like to own a guitar store but money wise I just dont have the funds ,anyway im happy youre doing something you really like, take care and god bless
Oh, this is the spot next door to Golden Gate chinese restaurant! That's mine and my son's favorite chinese restaurant, and Zimm's is our favorite guitar shop, so this is perfect!
Kewlio! Wish it was more closer to central Phoenix but Congrats! As a BASS player which store should I go to? Ahem... for us bass players.. you know... bass players?
Dude, I am so glad for you and wish you the best success! I think its going to be great to have them close. It works for Starbucks and fast food joints. You could be gaining sales you would not have normally received.
I'm afraid to go to your new store , every time I go to your old store I buy a guitar . Now this store is one minute from me . Think I'm in trouble. I'm happy you're doing well !
Congratulations...love seeing small businesses thrive!!!!!
