DIY Monogram Towels 2 Easy Ways ✂️ Brother PE800 Embroidery Machine | SEWING REPORT

Making custom monogram towels 2 ways - this is a quick DIY project and perfect gift idea for the holidays, housewarming, or other special occasion. I've been experimenting with the Brother PE800 embroidery machine and many different types of stabilizer. The 1st method involves hooping kitchen towels using tearaway stabilizer and water soluble topper, while the 2nd is for thicker fabric or anything that's challenging to hoop or materials like velvet, leather, or vinyl - no hooping - wash away stabilizer, temporary adhesive spray, and water soluble topper.
To protect the hoop, I cover it with painters' tape while I spray the temporary adhesive and use a Trader Joe's paper bag with the top part cut out as a makeshift "spray booth." It's been working quite well as long as I spray directly overhead. If you spray from the side, the hoop will get over spray on it and a sticky residue.
