Every song on Boston's debut album is phenomenal. It's the best (and one of the biggest selling) debut album in music history !
I agree 100%. I like the whole album.
Those are the facts, now tell us your feelings, please?
Being a diehard metal fan I still love Boston and Kansas. If you haven't done Kansas yet listen to Dust in the wind or Carry on wayward son. You won't be disappointed.
Play The Game Tonight or Point Of Know Return are highly underrated by Kansas.
From another old-school metalhead, I agree, Boston and Kansas rock! 🤘
A knight in metal? No. White Satin, Neon Knight, idk. They deserve a look
Great song when it came out in 1976 and it's still a great song. Fantastic vocals, intrumentals, great everything. about this song. It has stood the test of time. Billy Boy
If you like the solo guitar in this song you're gonna love "Hitch A Ride"!
Totally agree....
A man I’ll never be
I grew up in a town North of Boston, MA. I’m older guy and during the summers I worked for a landscaper cutting lawns. We cut the lawn next to the home of the drummer of Boston Sib Hashian (R.I.P.) and on Fridays we would eat lunch on the curb and listen to Boston rehearsals (they practiced there)… Such fond memories for me. Also, RIP Brad Delp, singer extraordinaire…
Cool. Sib was the nephew of one of my high school teachers. Sadly both he and Brad are no longer with us.
Sib's daughter Lauren Hashian is married to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
@@blwestern Oh, wow....I didn't know that!
cool story... I watched Sib, out of his element on Scorch's show... He was a really nice guy and good sport. Loved Boston for so long like you. Saw them the first time at a Bill Grahm (RIP) Presents, Day on the Green and it was magical.
Great reaction! Fun fact - the spaceships are upside-down guitars & all of the vocals on the album are all Brad Delps
Boston is absolutely one of the best rock bands ever & Brad's vocals are criminally underrated!
I've actually tried to show the guitars to friends, but they just couldn't see them lol.
Any Boston song is AMAZING❤❤
Just imagine the talent, the technique... it's something I will never fully understand. It's magic.
every time a oldie is played its like taking a trip back in time when music was so much fun , thank for playing another great tune for us all.
Yessssss!!!!!👍👍👍
This band too BOSTON brought back memories when I was in 3 bands but the last group of us 4 guys just made everything beautiful on how a great band plays together. Your review OLavity was great. Boston in my experience was right in there with th top 5 rock bands including LED ZEPPELIN too. Best Review and Best Wishes for you dear.😯😚😀
I listened to the whole album through my high school years, wearing out the record. My younger brother had a garage band. When he was out I borrowed his guitar and played while the album was on, pretending I was on stage with them. I moved to Canada in 1979. I went to my first concert at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. It was for Boston! I could not believe it! My childhood heroes right there! I was crying and rocking my head. I was like a kid again. After all these years it is still magical. In 1989 I met my ‘Maryanne’. I messed up badly, and like the song said I let her slip away. I still think of her, specially when this song plays. By all means check every song in this album. The whole album is magic. RIP to my hero Brad Delp. He is sorely missed.
Brad Delp has an amazing range of octaves, at times you cant distinguish between him ending and the guitar beginning, amazing.
I completely agree with Olavity Music. This song came out when I was a cadet at the United States Air Force Academy, and my friend Steve (who was also a high school classmate from Albuquerque) and I would rock out to this song in his dorm room pretty much every night during our "firstie" (senior) year, leaving the rigors of cadet life behind us for a short while.
That smile is killing me. If you like Boston I think you should check out the band Kansas. Keep up the great work sweetie. God bless you and yours.
I went to high school in the late 70s and can't express how many hours of listening to albums of Boston far to loudly in my bedroom .... Sorry Mom 😂🎸 LOL
This is literally the first song on their first album and that first album from the mid-70s came to be regarded as one of the greatest debut albums in rock music history.
I have seen a lot of reactors work their way through it in order, and everything on there is just fire. And so fun. Even haunting and beautiful at times.
I got to see Boston in Junior High in a small indoor arena in 1977, and my girlfriend and I went and the whole thing was a crazy experience, but the show itself also was fantastic. They were doing all the harmonies and all the great tandem guitar work and all the stuff and it just sounded so incredible in this smaller arena.
While agreeing with your comment, Tom Scholz still took 8 years for this first album at a time when groups released 1 album per year. It helps to make a good first album. 😉
It’s always been a big favourite of mine 👍❤️🏴
Kids! One of the BEST songs from the 70's and your parents NEVER taught you about it.
Tom Scholz, the lead guitar player, was a graduate from MIT then went to work for Polaroid when audio was added to small color video cameras, after work went home and built every component in his studio for recording as well as his guitar "play toys", then he wrote every song and played every instrument for the first two records. Finally he got a record contract and it stipulated that he must tour and hire band members.
@joelmiller4459 Note quite. Tom did not build the Scully 12 track tape machine that he used on this record . Tom did not build the Dan Flickingeresque console that he used either--Tom purchased it. The console and the tape machine make up the heart of an analog studio. What are these guitar play toys you talk of? Scholz R and D did not exist until 1980 and the Rockman was not produced until 1982. , Tom did not build the Marshall SLP tube amp that he used. Tom did not build the graphic eq that he used. Tom did not build the large variable resistor taken from a theater lighting system that he used as his power soak either.
As documented in the liner notes of every copy of the debut record that has been sold, Tom does not play a single drum track on this record or on the second record for that matter as well. The documentation is very clear that Sib plays drums on every track on this record but one and Jim Masdea plays drums on the remaining song
Tom did not write all of the songs on this record. It is well documented that Brad wrote Let Me Take You Home which was recorded by the band as pictured on the back of the record by Boylan at The Record Plant LA. Brad also co wrote Smokin'. Alibet 30 years after the fact Tom finally gave Brad credit for all of the arrabgeetn work that he did on the songs on this record and this is documented in the liner notes of the 2006 Schoz remaster of the debut Boston record. Lastly including the two drummers who played on this record, there are five musicians other than Tom who play at least one instrument track on this record.
I love "Boston"! I have let my family know that Boston's "Hitch a Ride" shall be played at my funeral.
Good review.... I was eight years old when this album came out.... What a special and different time it was... RUSH came out with Hemispheres the same year... Another great album... Very musically creative people at this time...
Amazing vocals, amazing guitar, amazing drums, amazing everything!
I was born in the early 70s and grew up with IMO the best music and talent from the 60s, 70s and 80s. My kids did too as they were growing up. They introduced their friends to Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, Boston....the list goes on. I will say Disturbed front man David Draiman and singer Myles Kennedy are very talented with amazing voices. Reminds me of back in the day talent.
One of the best debuts of all time along with Van Halens in my opinion
And Delp should be in everyone's Top 10 singers! He doesn't always get the props he deserves
Foreplay/Longtime is also from this album. ALSO FROM THEIR 3rd album....a track called 'Amanda' nice footage of lead singer Brad Delp ( R.I.P. )
Probably the most iconic acoustic opening in rock history ! Great fucking band !!!
Hi Ola, this is from Boston's debut album, which is a masterpiece. Every song is worth a listen. My favorite is "Peace of Mind".
The singer is Brad Delp, one of the best voices in rock history. Sadly, he took his own life.
I remember when this song came out, and it's probably my all-time favorite. Thank you!
That's the sound of four full octaves filtered through an epic mustache.
This is the opening track on their historic self-titled debut album. Just react to every song on that album; you will love it. Especially "Foreplay/Long Time", "Hitch a Ride", and "Peace of Mind". 🔥🔥🔥
Man I think I wore this eight track out in my old ford back in high school. Sure wish I still had that old hotrod !
Great reaction! I love Boston! RIP Brad Delp.🙏
Brad was a handsome man. He had one of the best voices in the rock world. ❤
I must say you have good taste in music.😊
❤❤❤
Happy Valentines Day pretty lady
❤❤❤
Boston has a great catalog. One of my favorite is "A Man Ill Never Be" or" Hitch a Ride" or "Amanda"....really, anything from their first 3 albums is good
A cornerstone of classic rock, Boston's first album is perhaps the greatest debut out there. The smile you had says it all...classic rock does that, & Boston brings it in spades.
While agreeing with your comment, Tom Scholz still took 8 years for this first album at a time when groups released 1 album per year. It helps to make a good first album. 😉
Love your videos and appreciate your heartfelt commentary and views of the band.
Your new favorite Boston solo -> A Man I'll Never Be 🎸🎸
The amazing thing is that the lead guitar player didn't start learning to play guitar until he was 21 years old.
It is a great song by a great group!
One of those songs that'll probably be listened to for many generations to come. Or at least I'd like to think so. thanks.
Hi Olavity. Delighted with your reactions to Boston really liked that song myself you should also check out Thin Lizzy ' The Boys are back in town' and the Eagles ' Hotel Calafornia ' the live version from 1977 its splendid also Happy Valentine Day to you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹💋💋💋💋
Hello, I think Boston is definitely a great rock and roll band. First time listener I like your reactions. If you want to hear a rocking song by Boston. I would love to see your reaction. It's called (Smoking) by Boston thank you have a great day🎉
I had this album in 77. 😎
Boston - "Foreplay/Longtime" 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great song!!
Love Brad Delp! Great singer.❤
You should check out April Wines Rock and roll is a vicious game or Triumph both amazing Canadian bands❤
April Wine - I like to Rock & Roller are bangers! Triumph - Fight the Good Fight, Magic Power & Lay It On the Line are good songs to start with. Enjoy!
@@GregSpelman yes magic power definitely
Great video as always 🙏🏽
This song came out in 1976 when I was 18 and in a band 😎
I recommend it for reaction!
Dark version of the famous song Can't Help Falling in Love, performed phenomenally by Diana Ankudinova.
Full name:
Can't help falling in love (Stereo) - Diana Ankudinova @ Shoumaskoon, 1st round
14 million views
327 thousand likes
She was only 18 years old when she sang this.
You can say that Diana's voice is the rarest of the rare jewels that exist on this Earth, her natural voice is deep, her vocal type is Contralto, that is the deepest and rarest female vocal type (it is the rarest even if we include the male vocal types), further more she is classified as a Dramatic Contralto which is the deepest, darkest and most powerful of the contraltos (which is even rarer), she is also polyphonic she is able to resonate with herself producing more than one notes in different registers that gives the effect of hearing multiple voices connected in one huge voice when she sings, very few people can utilize this ability like she does, this is the main reason on why people always get goosebumps when they hear her sing (thus the nickname Queen of goosebumps).
Her range in also crazy for her age, it is about 4 octaves and she can easily switch between any note there on the fly because her vocal agility is insane, her unique tinbre is unheard of once you hear her there is no way that you will be able to forget it.
So she is a Contralto that can fully cover the range from the male Tenor up to both Mezzo and Soprano female vocal types and we will see her evolve way more because she is just 20 years old, a Contralto's voice is considered young even at the age of 30.
Of course she has mastered her vocal instrument like no other, you will see her do things with her voice that you would thought that they are impossible.
The power of her voice is unbelivable too she can belt continuisly like aforce of nature, if you stand in front of her while she is at it there is agood chance you will be blown away.
But at the end of the day no matter how much anyone talks about her technical skills the number one most impressive thing about her is her magical ability to transport the listener to her own world of music, her artistry on the stage is unprecedented she goes in to a trance when she sings as she immerses herself and becomes the song itself, you will often find your self glued to her every gesture even if you do not understand the language you are listening to and she has sang in a lot of them English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Russian it does not matter because you always get the full experience from just watching her art.
You should search for her life's story it is very inspirational and you will understand why she is so humble and so down to earth.
So have a good time discovering this generational talent, This is what a true genius in her field looks like, it really does not even matter what you choose to hear from her, you will not find a single song that will not leave you with your mouth open, her voice is a drug once you get hooked it is game over.
Согласна с вами, Диана Анкудинова величайшая вокалистка современности!
This is a shorten version of the song. Brad Delp does ALL lead and harmony vocals. Tom Scholz plays ALL instruments (except drums) on the album. The other members in the video were part of Boston's touring lineup. All songs written, engineered and produced by Tom Scholz. Recorded in Tom Scholz basement studio in 1976.
They had to create a band (Boston) after Tom Scholz had single handedly written and played all the songs.
@@michaelshafer5192 False. BEST SONG...OF ALL GENRES...FROM THE VERY BEGINNING OF...MUSIC ITSELF!!!...I WOULD SAY!!!...🫡🫡🫡🫡🫡😏😏😏😏🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Great 70,s classic
Great reaction and thanks for sharing. Just take the first Boston album and just start at song 1 and listen to the entire album. One of the best albums of all times. Track 2 is Peace of Mind, Track 3 is Foreplay/Longtime then on and on. Everything on this album is awesome, some are better than that. Chris
A man I'll never be or another song Amanda or foreplay/long time.. there's just so many but one of those three or all three are worth a good look at and listen to
Great song. Would have loved to see them do this LIVE!
The first concert I ever saw was Boston with Sammy Hagar opening. 1979, Freedom Hall Civic Center, Johnson City, TN. They were incredible live.
This is a song to Eternity !!!!
Hi Olavity - from their second album Don't look back are a couple of songs which I think are good . One is the title track ' Don't look back ' and the track 'A man I'll never be ' .
This was their second album which was released in 1978 and it reached no1 in the US and Canada and no9 in the UK
Listen to the entire first album....excellent tunes
Boston was amazing!..Short version though..cant believe they cut our best music short now!
Hi again , you have a so good taste, i like your english. I love you.
From what I've read the name Marianne wasn't random. The song writer had a crush on an older cousin whose name was Marianne.
So true young lady, its a master peace. 💯❤️💋
Also, check out The Eagles, Hotel California, live in 1976....and yet more serious 70's rock star hairiness....
I have always loved this particular track, well at least since 1976, brings back great memories.
Brad Delps voice was no studio trick, he could really sing like that live.
Singer Brad Delp sadly killed himself in 2007. There are some interviews of him where you can easily hear his self doubt and low self esteem, saying he couldn't imagine being part of anything successful. And if he was a part of anything it probably wasn't good. Oddly enough, this makes me like him even more!
Happy Valentines Day! 💖💖
you should check out the Boston song 'Amanda'; it's another of one of their best songs.
Peace of Mind is absolutely my top Boston track. Enjoy :)
Brad Delp was one of the best singers of all time may he rest in peace and it is absolutely asinine that they are still not in the r and r hof, you should do don't look back video next but read the lyrics first because they tell a story about not seeing what pretty much everyone else in your life can see but you are blind to then you finally see the dawn arriving and see what you could not see before, I have always loved that song but I got an even deeper appreciation of it after I read the lyrics and fully understood what it was saying, a great song and one of my favorites
I saw Boston's 2nd Tour in about 1980
Long Time by Boston. It will blow you away.
Saw them 7 times. They are outstanding.
Must listen to “Foreplay/Long Time”, “Don’t Look back”, “Rock and Roll Band”, “Amanda”
Another great band to listen to is HEART.. Two sisters Ann Wilson who is the lead Vocalist along with her sister Nancy Wilson who is a great guitarist...Songs like "Barracuda", "Magic Man","Crazy On You" among many other hit songs that they have...They have been around since the 1970's and still going...Also they are in the Rock Hall of Fame....

From Boston: "A Man I'll Never Be".. is the only rival to "More Than a Feeling".. For me they're on a par.
There was a Trilogy in the 70's of Boston, Kansa and Styx. All different but stunning. And the country-Rock Eagles
This is one of the best debut albums ever recorded. It still sells well today. You are my favorite reactor that I react to. When you have time you have to go look at Bostons BIO. It will blow your mind. Great reaction and many more to go.
Tom Scholz still took 8 years for this first album at a time when groups released 1 album per year. It helps make a good first album. 😉
