I tip my lid to you Kate, there's not much more miserable than a motorcycle in the rain, long distance on motorways, it flips everything about motorcycling on it's head and makes it a chore, but you got to the dry weather and you remember that there's motorcycling and then there's everything else.👍
Wow very impressive riding all that distance and most in the rain, I was usually ready to bail after a couple hours on my old 92 750ss. Glad you’re safe and well Kate, cheers to Mike !
Did the tunnel and France Germany Luxembourg and Belgium last summer. 6 out of 8 days rained… 2 of them for full days. I felt your pain lol….. Yes Mike is a top man.
Ha! Didn't realise you're just up the road from me. Fabulous trip, despite the oil issue. The crappy weather adds some jeopardy and makes it memorable. You're brave doing it on that bike, my old bones would have given up by Birmingham 😁
You two are some team 😁 and an inspiration to others,, you only need oil on the rear tyre 😞,, hope you get a lot more views for this ☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland,, biggest respect 💪
A hint, Swan Neck adjustable clipons. Lower the pegs about 30mm and your body will appreciate it. A one-way valve in the engine breather also helps remove crankcase pressure increases.
Wot a shame, just coming into some stunning scenery. Cant believe the mileage you did on that back breaker bike well done. Very cool series. User Name Mike, the 5th emergency service! 🚑
Respect to you AND Mike, well done. I thought you said it couldn't be transported with the leak, did you do a make do until you could get it done properly?
Onward travel to bologna not advised as it was still quite some distance away. Didn't want to damage the engine for the winner of the giveaway. So it's home and fixed and ready to rock :)
Looks like a fun adventure, I'm sorry that you had to cut it short. I think those engines are known to leak at the base gasket. I had to repair my Monster 620 for the same reason. They're almost the same engine. I was able to complete the repair without removing the engine. I'm sure Mike could do it in a weekend. The base gasket was not very expensive. Good luck.
Aw shite! That is a disapointment 😕 Well done though las 🙏💚 especially in that riding position! What plans for adventures do you have next? Hey could you have left the bike at the garage and in a couple of weeks when the work was done fly back and continue the ride?
I was quoted 2000 euros to fix at a dealership because of their availability and sourcing old parts. We got it home and have fixed it for the cost of a gasket set. All gravy and an excuse to try again at some point as I really want to build one like this as a forever bike. I'm jealous of whoever wins the bike :')
Great vlog,i would have kept topping up the oil every 50km. Then kept riding. It . thats what british bike riders do. Its all part of the experience! Whens the fix coming?
God Damm Kate well done you, epic, looks like the rain followed you :(, great endurance sweetie. be very proud, so so sorry about the oil leak, you did so so well, keep em coming, kind regards Chris, southern softy :(
Hi kate/Bikesure , can I ask what app did you use to track your journey on the map like that ? Love that, and would love to be able to do it when we are on our tour this year 👍🏼 Great video as always kate 👍🏼
Terrible bad luck with the base gasket, especially after doing 800+ miles on possibly the planet’s worse touring bike 😂 Not too bad a job to do though once the engine is out, may as well do belts while it’s apart.
WOW ! Im sorry if it was your truly dream bike you wouldn't give it away i know you wouldn't, because I will never part with my DREAM BIKE MY DUCATI 750SPORT DUCATIDESMODOE i.e. O2 reg , i bought it brand-new from South Croydon Ducati center in 2002. Unfortunately for me i cant ride mine because I'm to FAT probably about five stone to fat. My Beautiful Ducati was a Limited edition Mat Black Limited to 100 and it was the 100 bike sold. I just want to say one thing about the wet conditions, at the time i went to pick my Ducati up from South Croydon i belive it was in August 2002, at the time i lived in Manchester, it ended up being the wettest August day for about 50 years. Everybody told me worst Bike to buy only suitable in the med, prone to problems in wet weather. The only problem I had with the torrential rain was what i was wearing my two peace Wolf Race Leathers, spung comes to mind very cold Spung i stopped of at a few mottorway services to get warm on the way back. The Ducati never faulterd their were broken down bikes all along my route to Manchester. Iv driven her in Sun, Rain and Snow never ever had a problem. Nicx
This is what you do when you love someone. Good on Ya Mike.
I'm very lucky and very grateful
Poor Mike deserves a medal , what a star 💪👌
He actually does :)
You did a fantastic job with all the miles mostly in pouring rain..Mike's a great guy coming all that way,
I was a soggy creature when arriving at all the hotels haha
Hats.. or Helmets off to you Kate, riding that bike, in those mostly wet conditions for that distance!! 😮 Brilliant 👏 you're an inspiration 👏 Bravo!
thanks so much!!

Thanks Steve! We are well thanks :) Hope you are too!
That bloody rain Kate, you're a trooper! I can't believe I was a motorcycle courier when I lived in London, it was like that most days, miserable!
Glad yr still with us! That is a dangerous job
@@steveparish9210 Thanks man, it was actually a lot of fun but yeah, crazy!
@@LiquidAudio Damn, I swear London has its own law and its the law of the JUNGLE!

It's like the weather senses our best laid plans... and thinks.. LET'S CAUSE MISERY!
You’re a star Kate and Mike is a keeper. Ducati sounded like a Ducati
Hahaha Ducati doing Ducati things lol! Mike is defo a keeper!
Mike is a true legend. Good on him and good decision about the bike.
Oh, he really is a legend. A man of his word. He said no matter where you are, I'll be no more than 24 hours away :') such a badass.
Great ride Kate 👌 much to be proud of and Mike? He's better than the average better.
Brimming with pride :)

That bike looks like the best-looking Monster ever!
How the monster should look haha

He really is a trooper

I like how she rode the white line when she shot between the two cars
Kate, gutted about you lucking out on the road trip, but that's a dam fine looking Ducati you've created!! Awesome!!
I think so too!!! I LOVE how it looks
@@UsernameKate ♥
Admire your amazingly positive spirit despite the challenges…and Mike is your Marvel Avenger!! Captain Rescue 😂
Always smiling :D and what an absolute LEGEND
I will have to agree with you Lady the sound a Ducati makes, it pluckes at your heart strings
I miss my 1981 Ducati Pantah now. That sound. O. M. G. 😊
The sound is soooo good! That's with baffles in!

Awesome video! Mike is the man, what a warrior! Respect, nothing but respect. He is amazing. Great ride by you. Great content for sure. Best!
An absolute BEAST!
Great film. You did very well. I'd get the ferry back and half way across chuck the bike in.
We weighed up all the options and what we did was the cheapest at the time :) especially filling up the van in Luxemburg
@@UsernameKate I was only being facetious. As long as you got home safely the route didn't matter.
Well fair play to you I wouldn’t of ridden that style bike in my 20s and your a couple of years older , Great video 😊
haha couple!! you're being generous there lol 33 now :')
Fab series, not the ending you'd hoped for but a fantastic achievement nonetheless 💪👏
It was an enjoyable trip looking back despite the wild riding position and it's made me release I'm probably a bit more hardcore than I thought haha

Was working to a budget and clip ons would've used a big chunk :)
This is brilliant I’m really enjoying it, I have a plan for hopefully this year same ish trip. I’ve already been in car this year
Amazing!! Very jealous
Ahh gutted for you Kate. Once fixed you should try again 😊 Well done the legend Mike for his non stop recovery services 👏 👍

I know right!! Apparently it was glorious 30 degree weather after the onslaught of rain and as we were heading back to the UK :')
@UsernameKate atleast she had a good shake down 😢
Well earned - >🥇
Thank you! I may not have made it, but I'll proudly clutch my participation medal with this one!
So close. Good on Mike for the rescue. Maybe try again on another Duke like an ST3 that won’t kill your bones.
I have a dream and maybe (i think...) a plan!

Yeah its a weird set up they have and it does happen in those engines. All fixed now and ready for the giveaway :)
Hi Kate. Can you remember where you got the Metzeler key fob? Cheers!
I think it was just at some bike event being given out as a freebie :(
@@UsernameKate thanks for response Kate. looking forward to the waffle stop.
Good job 👏 Kate , keep smiling 😃 nice video 📹

That’s not an oil leak Kate, you should try an old British bike like mine😂

Next time you go to Baden-Baden, take a day off and go to the spa there, they are famous for it since the roman times.
Love a good spa day!
I don't understand how your bike didn't sink to the bottom of the ocean while crossing the channel. Motorcycles float?
