    A good and unbiased review from somebody who grew up with Beemers, and goes all soppy, and wobbly at the knees everytime she sees a KTM!

    I've watched so many reviews on this bike and this is by far the most honest and accurate. Thank you.
    I've just purchased mine in Arctic Blue just over a week ago. I traded my Triumph Tiger 850 Sport in against it and I can't believe how different the 2 bikes are. The Voge DS900X has some quirks that's been covered well in this video. I believe the low down engine worries are caused by the throttle response and is apparently fixed in the firmware updates (along with the unpredictable fuel gauge). This may also ease as the engine is run in.
    There are some silly things that could be easily fixed. The keyless ignition is a little pointless when the fuel tank isn't keyless. You have to pull the key out of the fob which isn't so easy when you're tired and cold (guaranteed to drop the fob at some point). There is only one remote for it - a 2nd key is provided but at the moment no-one can say what to do if you lose the key fob or the battery dies in it. The bike doesn't have a fuel range and only one trip meter, these are niggles and hopefully will be updated in firmware updates - fingers crossed 🤞🤞.
    That being said, there is no escaping the fact that this has to be one of the best value motorcycles on the market when you take into account the extra's that come as standard. Even radiator guards come with this bike.
    For the Chinese haters, you need to get off your high horse. So many bikes and their components are now made in China that there is little to argue when it comes to quality. We had the same culture when Japanese bikes flooded the market in the 60's and look where we are now.
    Seriously, at £9,200 it's a no brainer!

    • @zegrze
      @zegrze Месяц назад +4

      I was quoted 850 PLN or 162 GBP for a spare plastic fob ready to use if you lose the original.
      I have found my fuel guage reasonably accurate and I know the bike can do 250km with my riding style in winter at sub 10C. I generally fuel at 200 to 220km and fit 14 litres in the tank on average on the 4.3 version HMI.
      MotechRevolution? channel on YT talks about many aspects of the Voge 900 including the fob and key and the CR2032 3V battery that the fob uses.

      Love my Voge.

    Stunning bike regardless and for the money it's a huge WOW and a wonderful way into a quality ride that has all a rider could ever desire if they want the modern toys and frills - seriously you could ride this bike forever and be happy. In answer though, it's a hard NO, BMW buyers won't transfer to Voge in a million years - both BM and Voge know this, they have a great symbiotic relationship and it's refreshing to see the bike world changing in front of our eyes

    I bought a 2024 CF Moto clx 700 heritage, it has so much technology, ride by wire , switchable abs, cruise control, 74bhp, usd forks, led lights all round , automatic lights, ride modes, Bosch fuel injection,fully adjustable suspension and as everyone tells me it's a fantastic looking bike , I bought it brand new with 4 years warranty, tax for a year , and brake down cover, and the price?? Under 5 thousand pounds, it's a beautiful looking, great riding bake.

    I'm not an adventure bike kind of bloke but this one is spectacular value. Triumph and BMW' are very pricey and for those of us who don't want to take out a second mortgage to buy a bike will find this much more palatable. Those 20 zones really are an affront to your senses.

    Really appreciate the seat height/parking demonstration Kate! Would love to see that in yours and other's reviews. Constantly use your videos as a reference (we're about the same height), and usually fast scroll to if you've included the mounting/stopping in traffic part. Still a newbie myself, so the seat height still matters some.
    Hope it'll be something you'll include in future videos, hope more reviewers catch on.
    Wish you all the best, ride safe!

    A bit scary for Triumph, BMW etc.

    No, you're not late with this Voge, as I always wait for your reviews before watching one elsewhere. I like the gold rims with this colour choice (unusual for me), the grip guards and tempomat, plus the tidy cockpit. The bike actually looks good overall, especially looking at it face on, but it doesn't really stand out against the many others in this catogory (except the KTMs). The biggest draw is (well for me) the price and all you get for it. I do wonder though how it will hold it's price as a used bike, and how good the overall finish and workmanship on it is.
    Having said all that, i'm not really into this catagory, although I do enjoy the occasional ride on an adventure tourer, so you've done enough to make me ask myself....., where is my next Voge dealership?

    Great review Kate I have owned and reviewed this bike in Spain for nearly 8 months. It's bullet proof. The engine is a sweet unit it's the same engine and down tuned Purely to get A2 certification. There is no reason the ECU cannot be flashed to match the F900GSA. Don't run any bike on E10 it states on the tank E5. Also throttle mod on my channel takes 5 minutes. Irons out the jerkiness. But E5 98 octane is the way to go, it flies ✌️

    • @MotoSwitzerland
      @MotoSwitzerland Месяц назад

      Thanks for your reviews too! Does that mean you only get 98 Octane for the bike? Is it noticable smoother than the 95?

    • @motechRevolution
      @motechRevolution Месяц назад +5

      @MotoSwitzerland when I can I will put 98 octane in. But she runs fine on 95. The bike has tons of power on 95, but 2 up with full luggage with 98 and in sports mode it's a beast. The bike has come a long way with updates. Early adopters had no option to change mode on the fly, and on the original engine map the engine ran hot and was nowhere near as refined as now.
      Kate's review was great but she forgot to mention some key safety features. Emergency braking or hard braking, rear hazards and rear brake light flash. Traffic getting too near rear hazards lights flash. Turning left or right fog lamp on that side also illuminates for better turning visibility. Some amazing tech in the bike

      @@motechRevolution Alright, thank you for the answer!😊 That helps a lot.
      By now i probably now all there is by heart about this bike (without owning one yet). Including 4.4 update procedure, throttle hack etc. Your videos help a lot!🤝🏻

    • @UsernameKate
      @UsernameKate  Месяц назад +5

      @@motechRevolution I hadn't watched any reviews before getting on it (just wanted tp get my views across uninfluenced if that makes sense) and since riding on my own, I couldn't see what the lights were doing when someone got close :) also, riding this back in the dark on the motorway (after filming) I did notice the spotlight coming on when indicating. I didn't personally like it as I feel it'll be quite distracting for a driver seeing it light up in their mirror (just because it's so bright! haha) but if you have the spots on all the time, it doesn't do the single spot illumination which I prefer.
      First tank was e10 (didn't see the e5 on the tank first time and I wasn't told before taking it), second tank when I filled up at the end of this vlog was E5 but I honestly didn't notice any performance differences/ or how it felt. Can't comment on if it got better mpg as I dropped it off before needing to fill up again.
      Awesome you have a throttle mod!! Need to get it done on this one then take it back out! Be cool to see the difference :) Thanks Motech Revoluton!

    Certainly something to give a lot of manufacturers sleepless nights 🤔. For me though a bit on the heavy side 😞. In fact, as from yesterday I became the proud owner of Voge DS525X! I've been up to the Yorkshire dales today, Settle,Hawes, Tan Hill Inn and back home via Devils Bridge, the bike seems exelent 🤞, just as you found on the 900, a bit lumpy at low revs/speed but for 6k I can live with that. In all, an exelent piece of kit 👍🏍.

    I've been trying to imagine myself as a younger, adventure-bike type of guy who wants one bike to ride down to Spain and/or North Africa and enjoy a great on-road and off-road experience. The Voge costs £9k. It's got a lot of kit but it weighs 238kgs. By the time you've added all your panniers and gear you'll be dealing with a leviathan which will be no fun off-road. At the moment Honda dealers are offering £8.8k deals on the 2024 750 Transalp because a slightly updated 2025 version is on the way. This bike weighs just 208kg - that's 30kgs lighter than the Voge. That makes a big difference off-road. Despite conceding 140 cc power is very similar and the badge (and thus residual value) has a lot more credibility. The only genuinely useful thing you're losing is cruise control, but I'd make this sacrifice for the sake of all the other benefits.

    • @richardhretczak536

      @trailingarm63 Месяц назад

      @richardhretczak536 That's a good shout. My only apprehension would be how comfy is it for the long road journeys south and how easy would it be to source spares for it in North Africa?

    • @Whatreally123
      @Whatreally123 Месяц назад +1

      None of the modern "adventure" bikes are lightweight. Just way too heavy. There are opti9ns like the Tenere 700, Tuareg 660, Transalp as you mentioned, and the new Kove 800x. Also the CF moto 450 MT or the Him 450.
      Quite a few optio s out there

    • @trailingarm63
      @trailingarm63 Месяц назад +1

      @@Whatreally123 In one way I agree with you. I'm a dinosaur who believes in road bikes for the road and enduros for the dirt. But the thing is I wouldn't go more than 30 miles on the road on my DRZ. So Spain would be out of the question unless I took it there in a van. If you want just one bike to ride south and enjoy on/off road adventure it's going to weigh at least 180-190 kgs. If it doesn't it'll be too uncomfortable on the highway. The Transalp looks comfy and civilised so I'd live with its 208 kg. Compared to my RT (279 kgs) it would feel like a moped!

    I took a gamble with the CF Moto 3yrs with the 650 MT. And I love it . I've done over 13,000 miles touring Ireland Scotland & Wales. And she's never let me down No issues whatsoever. I took the first test ride of the Voge 900 in northern Ireland and have to say wow amazing Tec and a fantastic bike . Unlike CF Moto . They seem to be having trouble with distributing the bikes.northern Ireland only has 2 bikes and I'm told there's No More until next year? So what does this mean for parts servicing warranty? That said the bike looks feels & ride brilliantly. Not one issue or bad point on the test ride other than setting everything to my own linking and feel. It's better than the new triumph Tiger 900. And dare I say the CF Moto 800 explorer.-

    Two years ago I bought a Voge 500DS (same engine as the Honda CB 500X - we all know what a pleasant and friendly engine that is). Despite coming from a more powerful bike - Triumph "Speedtona" 955i) - I had already enjoyed the Euro 4 version, so when my friend at one of the Voge dealerships here in Barcelona put their fully-specced ex-demo up for sale with less than 2000km on the clock (most of them done by him) I snapped it up. Needless to say I haven't regretted it: a sweet little crossover and its 46.3HP are more than enough for real-world solo riding, even when you want to go a bit daft in the Pyrenees. And so much feedback from the front end, even my Speedtona wasn't that good in that respect; fantastically confidence-building for novice riders and a great toy for an experienced rider like myself.
    I tested the 900DSX at the beginning of the summer on a few of my favourite roads in the immediate Barcelona area and absolutely loved it. Sure-footed and easily flickable despite the 21" front hoop, with all the oomph you need - and then some - in Sport mode (where the quickshifter really comes into its own). And Loncin clearly know how to make good rolling chassis as well as making great engines (I had already met the 900cc twin in the BMW), because it has that same communicative and confidence-inspiring front end. Thank goodness the local Catalan plod weren't out and about that day, because I really wasn't hanging about! I will definitely be considering the 900DSX next year if my bloomin' cancer goes away and I have time to buy and enjoy another bike.

    We’re obviously paying far too much for European and Japanese built motorcycles. The Voge is priced similarly to the Honda Transalp however the difference in spec is mind blowing unfortunately likely to suffer with poor resale values via disgruntled dealers.

    You can update the fuelling via a download to your phone and then link to wifi hotspot on bike.
    Early bikes shipped with version 4.1.
    My bike arrived this week with 4.3 and I’ve just updated it to 4.4 and the surging is much reduced.

      @@UsernameKate ah ok.
      I only got my bike yesterday and did about 20 miles.
      Updated from 4.3 to 4.4 this afternoon and have literally ridden a few miles but it certainly seems smoother with 4.4.
      But the fact you can update yourself via an android phone should bring easy further improvements .
      Let’s be honest, the Voge isn’t as polished as the 850/900GS …..BUT it’s half the price for 90% as good.
      I’d rather pay what I did and have the Voge with a few minor niggles such as occasional surging at very low revs, and a crap indicator switch than pay DOUBLE for a BMW that is nearly identical from the waist down .

    My only real concern with Chinese bikes these days is rust resistance - I like to ride in all weathers, and also like my bikes to continue to look nice after a few years. Can't knock the value for money, though.

    Recently, I had this Voge 900 for a 2-days test drive. I rode through the hills of the Swiss Jura, via St. Ursanne to Saignelégier, St. Imier, Moutier, Delémont, and back to Kleinlützel. The verdict is mixed: great agility and cornering (compared to the Thunderbird), strong acceleration, and good power reserves for overtaking. The Loncin engine hums pleasantly, and I don’t feel any strong vibrations like I do with my T-Bird.
    But: jerky throttle response at low speeds (my test bike has software version 4.2). Riding in traffic is more than a hassle. The engine also occasionally stutters, for example, when accelerating quickly out of a hairpin turn. Also, the (heated) seat is too hard and too low for my liking. After 3 hours, everything hurts…
    With my height of 190 cm, I can just about get my knees under the indentations on the tank. Comfort is something else. I’d need to raise the handlebars to avoid riding like a banana when standing.
    The windscreen is too low for me, so a bigger one would be needed. In short: mixed feelings. However, I’m confident that the bike can be adjusted to suit me.
    However, my dealer won’t be able to deliver the “Black Knight” version I prefer until next year…

    These Chinese bikes are really taking over (along with Royal Enfield). My BMW R1200RS has hearted grips and on setting three they can get too hot as well. Obviously German's get chilly hands! Those Welsh roads are ace.

    Awesome video! Great review. You hit all the points of interest. I don't get it though. From BMW's perspective as far as a relationship in production and competition. It looks like a GS, tank angle and geometry. At what ? Almost half the price and all the features. I suppose the only thing you are giving up with the Voge is cool factor. I would definitely be interested in this bike. Beautiful bike for sure. Best!

    Great review Kate, I had the 500DSX and got shut of it after a year as the seat was dire. A few observations; if it comes with full boxes (like the 500 did), then it needs a 20L tank to give it a a 200+ range, I recall the TPMS and external temp gauge were pretty inaccurate on the 500 and the paint finish on the crash bars wasn't great - not sure if that's the same on the 900? The switches don't look as good as the Brand Leaders and the front brake master cylinder looks like they took it off a moped. The TFT would benefit from being bigger and really extend the warranty for at least 3yrs. The resale prices of Voge's is not great and insurance is higher than other models (my 500 cost more than my 1800 Suzuki). Overall they are good bikes, certainly for the money, but need to refine the offering somewhat. Finally a GS beater? - price yes but refinement - hmmm.
