Best remake of this track in my opinion. Mario Kart Super Circuit removed the thwomps and Mario Kart 8 is basically this but with the track widened to fit 12 players and higher quality graphics.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the best in my opinion. It took what made Mario Kart 7 so good and perfected those things and added new mechanics. Not to mention the DLC
Why is the queen bee even a playable character to begin with. edit 5 years later: its ok it's ok, i have mods on my 3ds that swapped out characters so its ok now
Mason murphy It hasn’t that much. That’s honestly an issue that I have. The music sounds too much like the original. Mario Kart 8 uses live recorded music so you can clearly hear the remix songs for retro tracks
I used to have a new 3ds xl but I gave it to my brother for Christmas last year. I remember playing this game back when I had an older 3ds xl and chosing this track online all the time and almost never getting selected

2nd Best. I still think 64 version is better, but that's only because of it's length. I think Mario Kart 8 took the fun out of both SNES and N64, SNES was significantly wider, and N64 was significantly shorter. Nonetheless, those 2 tracks will always have a place in my heart. Amen hallelujah
One thing I never understood is why they felt the need to use spiked Thwomps and not the regular Thwomps like the one in Bowser's Castle. But eh, it doesn't matter, this is still one kickass track.

All these years of playing this Rainbow Road across all the versions, I'm still puzzled as to why they chose Thwomps as the main obstacle.
