We think so too. Little things can have a big impact. This is the entrance to our bathrooms so lots of people will come through this area. It's been a messy trash dump for too long.
Oh, to see the shutters come back to life is life-bringing. Dramatic to say, probably. But it just brings me tears of joy. Kind of a milestone in a way. They look so delicate and sensitive. But they've lasted ALL these years and only needed so much repair and unseen upgrades. I do love stainless steel. Every little thoughtful addition to this houses' beauty makes the biggest difference. I can imagine what looking back even just six months ago will show. This door design was actually my last choice, though not in a MY-football-team-better-win kind of a way. And in person, it's classy, sophisticated and brilliant.
You are always so kine and eloquent. I wish we had you writing our social media post - hint, hint (just in case you ever wanted to volunteer from afar). The door came together nicely. All three designs were great in their own way. This area has always been so ugly and the place where all trash seems to go to linger. We are working hard to get it permently cleaned up and this is a good start. Bricking in this area will be next (after the gutter and drains are installed). It might even turn into a little focal area.
You both (and other volunteers and crew) are doing an amazing job! I really enjoy watching all the changes, and my heart drops when there are set backs. It is part of the territory. Three steps forward and one back is still progress! ❤❤
We are sometimes happy with three steps forward and two and a half back. Fortunately, it is mostly forward progress with lots of baby steps in between big leaps. This year has been packed full of projects and things are not letting up. Thanks for your support!
Heather you really are a multi talented brilliant woman. Massive shout out for all your hard work !! ... Janie i always love it when anothe bit of plywood comes off and the light returns, great job ... hope you both got a good rest you must have exhausted !
Heather is remarkable. I am so lucky she chose to volunteer here. You will be happy to know that three more pieces of plywood came off the basement windows this week. Natural light changes everything. And yes, we are exhausted. 110 heat index all this week and Heather is coming tomorrow to help me paint our roof vents. We are so close to being able to wrap up that project.
Thanks, and three more pieces of plywood off basement windows this week and a new front sidewalk going in. The curb appeal has changed dramatically from where we started.
Bonus video 2x👍 Heather has a real talent the window and door look Great. The shutters are going to look fantastic Never open an umbrella indoors or put new shoes on a table. 🤷♂ where do these thigs come from. 🤣
I think this superstition is rooted in the very real possibility that you could bump the ladder and have something fall off and hit your head. I am always leaving screw drivers on top of the ladder.
Yeah!! Midweek video. The shutter repair looks great. Very productive day. Hope you have a great week. 🤗❤️🤍💙
It was a very good day. It feels good to get some things checked off the list. And it's always fun to work with Heather. We have a blast.
The doorway is turning out beautifully!! What a difference👍👏😍

@@leaguekempnerhouse Let’s talk!! Would love to help out how I can.
Heather does an amazing job! Your are blessed to have her!
I sure know that. It was my lucky day when she decided to commit her talents to this project. And I got a life-long friend in the process.

Looks great, ladies!! Thank you, Heather and Janie for all your hard work!!
Our pleasure! This house is so much work. It's fun to get to do something like this every once in a while.
Two very talented ladies. Heather is really good and so are you Janie. Best of luck with everything you do. 💗
Thank you so much! Heather is so much fun to work with, and so talented.

You might need to commission a stained glass transom for that door. The faux transom looks just right there.
That's a great idea.
Looking so good! Love it!
Thank you. It was a fun project and this area is going to be so much nicer when we are done.
@@leaguekempnerhouse you are doing an wonderful thing - a true heroine!
You girls are awesome! And things are looking “less hideous”! 😂
Thanks, and three more pieces of plywood off basement windows this week and a new front sidewalk going in. The curb appeal has changed dramatically from where we started.
I'm worn out just from watching yall work!
I won't lie, it's been brutal with this heat and the work has been non-stop. It has been a great, productive year.
Makes it look pretty. Yay...midweek video.
Yay, thank you!
Spectacular artistry! Was the arch above that door, once upon a time, glass ?
It turned out great.
17:24 I thought the same thing about Janie’s hat. I almost asked where she got it on a short about repainting the fascia because I like it so much.
I bought it on line for my son-in-law and the brim was way too wide so I kept it for myself. It is perfect (if not a little goofy) for what I need.
@@leaguekempnerhouseI think you need a headlamp for the tight space, ascending up that ladder to view the pipes!
@@dianemasterson2132 My husband bought me one for Christmas and I forgot about it. It would have been perfect.

Heather's a worker, that's for sure and oh so talented.
LOL less hideous, that my goal also❤
If you set a low goal,😀 you rarely disappoint.
good riddance to that plywood on the window. No matter how much work the burglar bars need it's still an improvement.
All these little things add up to big improvements in the look of this house - inside and out. The natural light in the basement is a game changer.
I’m with Janie. I wouldn’t go under the ladder either. Better safe than sorry.
