    I went to school with this dude. He was the best basketball player in the division. Best football player. He was the fastest dude I've ever seen in track. He was kinda quiet in school. Then I found out he went off to be a comedian and acting. Now coaching in boxing. What up dee💪💪

    • @javoby
      @javoby 10 лет назад +13

      You're right, but these are the basic keys to punching speed, they've been around a very long time. Bruce Lee, who I believe is one of the greatest fighters of all time, was taught by (Y)ip Man. What I'm getting at is, Bruce Lee may have written it down, but countless men and woman before him used these techniques.

      Bruce Lee never fought professionally he just taught people and acted shit out in movies. Not much cred in my opinion. VK quote "Everybody is an expert at fighting, but nobody fights. Everyone plays chess but no one is an expert."

    Very good tips. One thing I would add for faster punches is to learn how to become explosive. All power and speed starts from the ground and ends at the fist. Olympic lifting and power lifting will greatly enhance your speed and add power. Your hole body must fire off as one unit like a coiled cobra. Having more mass is better as long as you can be explosive. I would suggest studying these fighters. Not only were they fast but had explosive power. Mike Tyson, Tommy Hearns, Bruce Lee.

      Basically snap the punch. Tense the muscles at the point of impact. Loosing them after allows a fast transition to the next punch. Like a whip.

    plyometric push-ups fast an explosive to lift your body off the ground. a good way of doing this is clapping your hands together in between push-ups. Unless I am mistaken.

    Forget all other bullshit training methods. You want handspeed? SHADOWBOX. That's all there is to it. All day everyday. Work those combinations, like he said smooth transitions.
    Do 6-8 rounds of shadow work daily to increase speed. It takes time. Make sure you throw every punch with maximum speed on every single shot. I'll upload a video of my shadow work soon.

  • @mackinass916

    What he didn't say is to clintch your fist when you land the target.. keepin em loose will just fuck up your hand with all that pressure your puttin into it... also to increase speed, your wanna work the tricep area..that will improve the speed of bringing your punches back in position.. wow... i should really consider beoming a trainer:)

    look vinny i get what your saying but if u love boxing u will not start wing chun coz wing chun is street fighting and it does not matter how fast in boxing u need to be quick and trough a good punch u don't need to throw a punch in 8.4 punches per second boxers are fast enough it's not all about speed

    My punches got much faster after I did an exercise by some dude here on youtube I forget his name but essentially you throw 4-5(or more) punches while keeping your fists as close as you can to the bag or surface of whatever you're punching. For me, I keep it around 3 inches away or less, for all types of punches.

    what if you close your fists to late and end up damaging your hand? I say try to stay loose but always keep your fists closed. Dude might walk right in before you close your fists and screw up your time and your end up with and broken wrist and getting your ass kicked. In a street fight you don't have boxing gloves to protect your hands.

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 лет назад +1

      you sound like youv'e never boxed before a day in your life.keeping your fist balled up tight for absolutley no reason just creates stiffness and tention.after youv'e been boxing for a while clenching your fist on impact becomes muscle memory you just do it without even thinking about it.
      lol even defensivley in a street fight situation without those huge boxing gloves your hands dont cover much. now ball your fist up tight and you have no coverage at all.watch an mma fight no elite striker has his hands balled up the entire time its very hard to catch the shots if you dont open up your hands.
      iv'e been boxing for the last 10 years and have yet to break a wrist,jam a finger or anything else on a punch and my fists dont fully clench until right before impact.

    • @lionheart051droid
      @lionheart051droid 9 лет назад

      youz1uglybish Well do you have your fists wide open or barely closed? Seems like a lot of work to keep closing your fists every punch you throw and what if you are a fast puncher? Hitting the guy with your fingures wont hurt him, but you. I say keep them closed, maybe not squeeze closed but having them wide open doesn't seem to make much sense. And you are right, i never boxed but i do MA, and we were always told to have your fist closed when you punch to do it properly/

    • @youz1uglybish
      @youz1uglybish 9 лет назад +1

      Lion Heart you wanna have your fist about half way closed almost to where it creates a pocket to catch the punches.if your familiar with the term parry its kinda hard to do that with your fist balled up tight your making your hand smaller and theres a pretty good chance you could miss the parry with a clinched fist and get smacked right in the mouth with a jab...especially in mma where the gloves are tiny jabs hurt like a son of a bitch they do alot more damage then 10-12 ounce boxing gloves.
      lol next time you go to your mma gym and your working on your striking try it...its much easier to pick the shots off with a semi open hand then a clinched fist which is my main reason for using it..but a benefit of that also is your much more relaxed and less likely to muscle your punches as the guy in the video said..punching power for me comes from technique and relaxation because the by product of those things are speed and power

    Guys just stfu about all the styles muay thai is great boxing is great win chun is great all styles have their weaknesses and strengths im a muay thai fighter personally i love brutality and i believe that its not the style its the fighter, boxing gives a fightee amazing hands and footwork and speed but when grappling ur screwwed and when theres leg kicks involved ur screwwed but boxers have one punch knockouts and muay thai have amazing techniques such as kicks elbows and knees but come face to face with a boxer if ur a good muay thai fighter youll destroy him with thigh kicks and break his legs and if ur a good boxer youll know the distancing and have ur footspeed to knock him out or just barrage him and im talking about every style just because boxing and muay thai is amaxing and is the most popular dont takw others for granted win chuns defense mechanisms have deadly counters where u can break bones, no one beats jiujitsu on the ground and teakwondo is like the art of boxing but with legs they have mastered their legs and speed

    You dont make sense. Everything you say contradicts itself. Not sure if just stupid or dumb.. Ellie claimed that he believed Manny would have beaten May, is that really out of the realm of possibility back then? I would understand if he statement on Manny probably beating May being moronic but back then this fight was very close to call. Now seeing that Manny lost to a fighter May destroyed in Juan, its smart to say May would probably beat Manny. Probably Manny is not as good as he was.

    If you want to maximize hand speed than drop that crappy boxing and take traditional wing chun. The record for fastest punch per second (8.4 punches per second) is held by Grandmaster William Cheung. No crappy boxer can even come CLOSE to that. Not any lightweight, middleweight, bantamweight. They are lucky to get off TWO punches a second, let alone EIGHT or more!

      No, it's not. EVERYONE knows that boxing is a SPORT and nothing more. And that being the case, it is crap for the streets EXCEPT against inexperienced opponents, drunks and GAYS! Any good traditional wing chun guy would KILL a stupid boxer in less than a minute

    • @warriorfire8103
      @warriorfire8103 10 лет назад +1

      momothebored Let it go. Despite how disproven Wing Chun has been there will always be die hards who claim they weren't real Wing Chun practitioners.

    • @vinnya6252
      @vinnya6252 10 лет назад

      Disproven? How? It's been used successfully for over 400 years and wing chun guys have beaten the shit out of boxers. Wong Shun leung beat a 240 lb. Russian boxer with THREE PUNCHES. If anything, BOXING is untested in the streets against real opponents. It is only good for the inexperienced, drunks and gays. Any decent martial art would KILL a boxer in the street just because they use both their hands and feet, which immediately give them an advantage. And because wing chun is a close combat system, that gives them the edge of being on the outside of the attack, out of reach of their counter.
