I think it takes someone who plays bass to really appreciate what Geddy does! Great reaction.

Nah. I ain't no bassist (drummer) but anyone who ain't blown away by his playing ain't human Lol. It's like another damn guitarist in the band! (I also bought his Big Beautiful Book of Bass. Unbelievably beautiful book for any music lover. If you're a bassist, it's a must!!)

Neil Peart was known as "Your Favorite Drummer's.... Favorite Drummer"!!! Meaning, that Every Other Drummer out there..... thought that Neil was THEIR Favorite Drummer!!! R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!!!

LMAO when you commented about his neighbors and practicing.
Aging myself again but early 1980's we lived right on the edge of a small town in 12 acres of woods, house tucked back off the road 400 feet... Neighbors to the west and south.
My two brothers and myself all played drums. While all our friends had 60 or 80 watts per channel Pioneer gear, or JVC... Yep, they would boast about their power yet we'd practice along to vinyl records on an old (late 1950's) Garrard system. But it had 265 watts per channel and we could see the bay window in the living room from the street literally flexing!
Tip: If you're good enough neighbors don't complain.
    I'm still laughing!
A far cry from what bands use on stage!

For another amazing live experience check out "RUSH - Best intro EVER!!!!!!!!!!" Also, see "Xanadu" from Exit Stage Left - 1981 to see how killer they were when they were young, too.

I was at that concert and brought my kids to see Rush, it was their first time seeing them live. I never missed a show in Dallas since 1984!

Make Geddy an inspiration, not a source of frustration. He wasn't always this good. Each of these musicians put in long hard days practicing - you can achieve anything. Rush definitely is next level and so are your reactions - subbed for more Rush. YYZ and La Villa Strangiato are not to be missed.

They first added that back in 1993...in Dallas first off...was a bit different than in 2013. I loved this show. glad I caught them here in Dallas 3 times.

I don't doubt that you are a talented bass player, but there are a whole lot of bass players, drummers, and guitarists who have felt pretty good about their skills, and then get a reality check due to seeing a Rush video.

One of Neil's drum heros was Buddy Rich, the jazz drummer who always played a solo at each gig. Neil had a solo on each tour they played. He had 9 minute solos up to their 30th anniversary tour, then started going to 2 or 3 shorter solos throughout the show.

As impressive as that drum solo is, it is nothing compared to his "Neil Peart live in Frankfurt"

As I commented to someone else, If you're a bassist (especially) you NEED to get Ged's Big Beautiful Book of Bass. It's massive and simply beautiful. You'll thank me later. And I'm not even a bassist
