Buddy Rich, & Neil Peart, are the two greatest drummers to ever sit behind a drum kit, imo. Which is funny because Neil was inspired by Buddy. But, Neil was unbelievable, he was one of my favorites, so sad that he has passed. RIP Neil. I’m a drummer and Rush fan, so his death really had a big impact on my life.
@Ray M I honestly never understood all the hype about Bonzo. He’s a great drummer and can play a solid beat, but I don’t think he’s the greatest drummer of all time, like many people say he was. But, that is just my opinion.
I’m right there with you. I’m still in mourning. I completely wore out my Moving Pictures 8 track and saw them many times. I still want to cry watching Neil practice by himself on his hotel bed on Rush in Rio DVD. All air drums just like me....but I do feel better knowing he’s with his loved ones.
I've seen Rush about 7-8 times. There Canadian I'm in Michigan so they came here alot👍. Rest brother Neil. Everytime I seen them I walked out blown away. Crazy thing about them live is the older they got, the better. The talent was expected but there energy live got better. Rush and Wow goes hand in hand. Great vid bro
I really wish Jamal could have attended a Rush concert. That was an experience. Many times. At least you have seen many live tracks. Just wish you could have seen it for yourself. What a great, talented, authentic band.
Seven times for me and the pleasure of my 15 year old boy experiencing his first ever live concert during their R30 tour! Rush and Pink Floyd, quite a majestic experience to see them live!
Made mine too. Ive enjoyed Jamal's reaction watching Rush. I haven't followed from the beginning so curious who favorites were before that first "Rush Reaction" video.
I love rush and I went through many “ my fav bands” in my youth. I can’t name just one anymore as I got older. I just love music too much and diff genres to claim a #1. As I reflect, Zeppelin has to be in my top along with the Beatles, Hendrix, and the grateful dead for a variety of reasons but i can’t pigeon hole a “fav” because of so many scenarios or classifications depending on categorizing favs (guitar gods, musicianship , song writers , massive influencers paving the way for new styles, GOATs of their instruments, etc) There are just so many great musicians in history and luckily now. I think the best live acts out today are Billy Strings (best flat picker today and fun performer), Tedesci Trucks (Derek best slide ), a few Blues legends, and lots of new up and coming artists. This Rush trio from Canada def has command of their instruments and rip rock jazz and run scales and play super tight.
One thing to note about Neil, is that during his drum solos, when he is rolling shots on the snare drum itself. You can hear every single hit he does clearly without a mistake, all through the rolling hits. They are absolute perfection. Perfection brother Jamal, like all your videos and reactions. You’re the True Rush fan, and we are loving every minute my brother. Bless you mate, and keep the videos coming... Deaf Gryphon < 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
Neil's drum solos are like the finale to epic fireworks shows... Can't take your eyes off of it, trying to figure out what is happening and the most amazing, magical thing... Only difference is that Neil is always telling a story... Also, the talent... Rest in Peace, professor Neil. We all miss you.
Enjoying your Rush reviews. Still hurting from the loss but its GREAT to see your enthusiasm and appreciation for the pinnacle of music for me and that's saying something because I Love music of all types and there are Amazing musicians out there from hundreds of years old to the present. Yet Screaming Geddy chaotic Alex and the man with more influence in my life than anyone else but Jesus, Mr. Neil Peart will live in my heart for ever.
I would take a dime for every time Neil's drumsticks hit a drum. I would be rich just after this one song. Magnificent performance. RIP, Neil. We sure miss you. Thanks, Jamel for this reaction. Take care and be well. Peace.
Neil NEIL! did you see him switch from overhand to underhand? i watched his vids learning from an old school master to go back to this. I miss him so much. He still kept on trying to improve till the end.
I was at one of the shows on this tour and they started playing this...I was on my feet “They’re playing my favorite instrumental!” “Where’s My Thing?” Is such a great tune and they absolutely ELEVATE it live. And then to throw in the drum solo...*contented sigh* Rest In Peace, Mr. Peart. Great video, Jamel.
You are getting more and more what is for us to be a Rush fan! It is exciting to see you discovering Rush by yourself as we once did a long time ago. Thanks man!
Dude, I was at this show, recorded in Dallas, Texas, about twenty rows on the floor. I got some great pictures. I got to meet Geddy last year in Austin.
That's awesome! I was on the floor at the clockwork tour in Detroit. Always an amazing show! My first rush show was in 1984 (grace under pressure). I was second row, side stage in Saginaw Michigan
When I was a kid, I never used to get it when people would talk about some athlete, or some actor, or some other figure, and say how they were the best there ever was or ever will be. Then, I started really listening to Rush.
Just want to drop in to say I LOVE your energy watching Rush. They're my favourite band too ever since I discovered them 40 years ago. My biggest regret is I couldn't make it to their last ever tour.

Mr. Neil Pert was an extremely blessed man to have that much amazing talent at playing drums. Not too many drummers can come close to the high bar he set.

one of my favorite bands of all time growing up many great songs by this group from the day and that was one of many great drum solos from the great Neil Peart amazing.
As a motorcyclist I bought Neil Pearts book Ghost Rider. Very good read. He'd been through a lot. He wasn't only a ridiculously talented drummer but a good author too.
Rush will forever be my favorite! I highly recommend "Headlong Flight" from their final album, Clockwork Angels, it has amazing instrument work from all 3, and the lyrics are awesome!

This is their "Moby Dick". All of Rush have said that Led Zepplin was an inspiration, so it makes sense they would do a "Moby Dick" type of song. @@lisamorrison2149 I saw them about 12-15 times, sat front row on the Counterparts tour...such an amazing experience!
@@joconnell8145you were so lucky to see them that many times. Never forget what a show they put on.
@@lisamorrison2149 Well, I'm 55 and started getting into them when Exit...Stage Left came out. ALWAYS put on an awesome show!
@@joconnell8145 I'm the same age, and was heartbroken when Neil passed away. Such a great song writer and drummer. I loved their early work the best. Cheers!
I get choked up every time I see or hear rush, rest easy Neil. We all miss you.
Jamal, ty for your reaction to MY favorite band!! 😉 I've been with Rush since early 1975 and I'm glad you've come over to the prog rock side!! I saw this tour TWICE (2012 in Chicago), and then in 2013 in Milwaukee with my son where we were 4th row center!! Phenomenal band!! 💜💜💜
