You said it right Gautham, everyone gonna remember this example also the concept for their lifetime. Every time I come across anything related to value stream mapping, this example comes to mind. THANKS FOR MAKING IT SO EASY.
Hi Gautham, I will make my Steps of Value Stream Mapping and use the Non added value time for studying my PMP so I can achieve my daily study time. It was so easy to get this concept. Thank you so much.
I liked your example. Although, I work from home I can use this to help with eliminating non value added time. Such as when I am on a call for a meeting that I am just listening and I do not need to add any input, I could utilize that time to get ahead on some work instead of thinking it is a break to go through my phone. This will help me a lot to maximize my time and avoid staying longer on the computer working when I could be off to balance out my work/life/after work homework etc. This is just one examples as there are other ways I would also utilize this method. Thanks
Nice video with a superb example. I'm a mother of 15 months old and working from home. Eliminating all the Non Value added time is a tough job but shall start small. Thanks Gautham😊
Good simple example to explain the concept. What type of questions we expect arround this concept in PMP certification exam? Map the process Identify va and nva Minimize nva and maximize va activities
This is a good example to map the concept. I am gonna use it for maximizing my PMP study time replacing non-value adding times with study time. Thanks Gautham !!!
Gautham this video is really wonderful you and you explained with excellent example . Now I understood the concept of value stream mapping . Thank you so much
Gautham you are a master of explaining the most complex concepts in the most easiest way with a practical example. This video is one more example of that. I would not only remember this concept always but would easily apply it in my real life scenarios too. Thank you!
I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for the this training video. It was one of the best I've seen, and the example provided made the concept much easier to understand. Having examples like this for every concept would greatly enhance the learning experience. However, I did notice that when calculating value hours in the demonstration, there were no breaks included. I believe that incorporating short breaks, such as a 5-10 minute tea break, would be more realistic and practical. This is just a suggestion based on my personal preference.
You have explained the Value Stream Mapping concept in a very easy and understandable manner Gautham. In fact, I feel that I should apply this during my work hours too to eliminate all the distractions and keep focused in my work..
Very well explained Goutham. I have experience of learning VSM in 6 sigma training that we had at workplace few years back. Same NVA elimination and then calculate process cycle efficiency. It took couple of rounds for us to understanding. Sharing complex concepts in a simpler way is a key element of knowledge sharing. You are doing that. Thanks a lot again!
As someone new to value stream mapping, I found this video incredibly insightful. It's a powerful tool for visualizing processes and driving continuous improvement. Your examples really helped solidify the concepts. @ Gautham Sudhakar Thanks for sharing!
This was great explanation Gautham. In simple words, to increase the value of a Project, remove or minimize the non-value adding tasks and thus increase/ improve your productivity for the actual Value adding tasks. You made it sound so simple. Thanks a lot.
Wow ! I am thinking that I am applying this concept of Value Stream Mapping mostly each day of work (i.e. eliminating & cut shorting time wastage at workplace) and today I got to know this fancy terminology. Thank u for making it easy to understand. :)
Gautham - The video is amazing and it help to clear the concept about Value Stream Mapping . By the way I believe, no one will forget this example :) in their life. Thank you for having you as a mentor for PMP preparation.
It make sense, I look forward to cut down some screen time when im at home, spend it in value added like exercise, help family members etc. at Work I look forward to cut down chai time and start 15-15 mins learning videos while having chai at standing work desk.
So basically, value stream mapping is eliminating or reducing the time being spent on non- value-added items and thus increasing time on value-added items
Value streaming always is beneficial when you have conflict and when you are procrastinating any kind of important work and daily life so taking practical decision and time management will always be useful.
Pmp exam needs a lot of efforts and time spent : my value steam mapping is to re-org my time management : I worked 8 am to 8:30 pm. I have class from 8-11 pm , how can I study , weekend I have many this to do, and sometimes working, I can not cut my lunch hours, but I can wake up 7 am and starts doing work , save 1 hours to watch Pmp video during my day work, then 11-12 pm I will watch another hour video before going to bed. So I will have 2 hours to work on Pmp each day. Lol 😢
The same issue we have but the same technique we can't follow as the whole 14 hours(From 8:00AM to 10:00 PM at least) are working even lunch time. To solve this issue I resigned from this company and looking for another now.
You said it right Gautham, everyone gonna remember this example also the concept for their lifetime.

Rather than cooking dinner every weeknight, I can meal prep on Sunday and use that hour during the week to exercise or do study for PMP exam.
That is the beauty of Value Stream mapping as it all depends on how one wants to apply in his/her life as per the situation.
