Rare 2000 D penny I don't know

I was coin roll hunting and came across this 2000 penny it has a D mint mark and looks to be made from a different material then normal pennies are made from looking for some help so leave comment down below if you know anything about it thank you and keep searching for them Treasures

Its a zink penny that some how was heated. When that happens the copper plating will cook off and form a brass coating on the penny.

It could be worth a dollar or more. Worth researching.

Weigh it with a scale set for gram measurement.
Should be 2.5 grams.
Looks like it didn't get the copper plating! LOL
Zinc can turn a golden color like that.
Then again, so can copper! :D
