Yay! An hour later I pieced it all together =) thanks for the video! When putting it together, it really helps to know that each triangle must have 3 squares surrounding it and each square must have 4 triangles surrounding it.
I needed a few more pieces to finish mine, but in the end it came out in a sort of...disc shape, a spiky disc shape. So I think I assembled them wrong...I'm still satisfied though! Thank you! I love your channel, I've been subscribed for a long time and have attempted to make many of your creations. :)
Thanks for uploading this tutorial - I have finished my first spike ball now! :-) I became rather confused when I should put i together (and also realized that I should have made it larger as a beginner...) But now I understand the logic, and will be much faster making the second one...
Great video. :) To the audience, it's fast because she sped up some parts to shorten the length of the video. You can always stop the video and do some steps and then play it. If you can't do that, then you don't have patience which is an important thing you need when doing origami.
Tip: If you guys are using the origami paper with a "white" and "colored" side, do the folds with the "colored" part on the inside so that once you do the fold at 2:59, the "colored" side will be showing! I hope this helps!
Hi, I made the 3 sizes (12, 24 and 56), they are really easy to make and great looking. My favorite is the medium one. The big one is not as stable as the others. Thanks for helping us, I follow the vid to make the module and the diagrams and pictures of the link to create nice colors combinations.
I still remember how to make this from watching this video many years ago when I was still in elementary school. I couldn't get the pieces to fit together back then but now when I try it's easy to me lol. Takes me about an hour to complete one of these, 5 min per each of the 12 pages of paper.
240 people have no patience for origami. 2,625 people are awesome origami masterz learnin from the Supreme Ruler of Origami ^o^ I bow to your greatness! Thanks!
you can understand the arrangement by what you see at the end of the video. every side of the triangle has a square. if it is difficult to do it as a single piece, you can make triangkes seperately and then join them by forming the squares.
THIS IS SO COOL THANK YOU FOR SHARING SOMEONE ELSE KINDA MADE 1 CLOSE TO THIS BUT THEY JUST SHOWED IT DONE & GAVE THE NAME OF BOOK. THEY LEARNED FROM . THANK YOU SO MUCH 4 SHOWING & SHARING US HOW TO ACTUALLY DO IT ...
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! I am pretty new to everything, but I managed to find a variation of this that has 24 pieces, and looks cool if you use 4 colors with 6 pieces each.
making the modules was easy but putting it together was a fight. i'm ready to glue it together so is will stay in place! thanks i have my spikey ball :)
If you want to make the one out of 24, Let me help you out a bit, because there are 2 ways to describe: Looking at the Rhombic triacontahedron: You have to see the surfaces of this object as a unit, and the boaders between them as connections perpendicular to the edges. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhombic_triacontahedron Looking at the Icosidodecahedron: You have to see the corner points as a unit, and an edges as a connection. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icosidodecahedron Personally I think I rather prefer the second! :)
cool i learned spike ball from you and now i have my own vids just type in hulkbond1 at top,ill have the flower background, couldnt put it together for a while but figured out
Seriously, I don't know why everyone is whining, this isn't a very difficult project. Thanks for the video, it was fun and very easy to follow : ) Oh and if you're concerned about wasting paper, there's this thing called recycling. Try it.

oh... and i make it a faster, easier way! Just make the Crossfold at the beginning, then Blintz, turn it over, do quarter folds, and then you dont have to take it apart over and over... it just goes faster! ^^
GRACIAS ^^ LO LOGRE!!! ESTAN FACIL QUE HASTA UNA NIÑA DE 12 PUEDE HACERLO ^^ ESA SOY YO! ^ ^ THANK YOU ACHIEVE! THAT ARE EASY TO A GIRL OF 12 CAN DO ^ ^ that's me!
Hi barbabella, it would be nice to know whether the white side has to be up or down at the start when using origami paper with white/color!!! My red module is now white :-) Thanks for the tutorial!

i love the video really inspiring and great
After struggling a lot, I found it much easier building 4 blocks of triangles (5'00 to 5'56) then joining these blocks together to form the ball
