- Join us in the first vlog from our European Mega-Trip, as we visit Plopsaland for the first time! Plopsaland is located in De Panne, Belgium and opened in 2000. The park features 6 roller coasters along with a fantastic selection of rides for smaller visitors including various dark, water and flat rides! Join us as we explore and review the park for our first ever time along with taking you along for the ride on all of the parks attractions!

Victor's Race is a new coaster. Plopsa asked Zierer to build the same exact coaster from years ago. Only for Plopsa, Zierer builded the old Tivoli model a few years ago.
I thought they only re-themed the whole coaster? Another train and another color of the track?
When Shawn was doing the Macarena a woman looked at him then picked up her child and walked off 😂😂

The reason for all the "random" theming and the truss' everywhere is that the park is basically the theme park of a major children's tv-show producer, called studio 100. Kinda like how Walt Disney World is the physical version of all the Disney movies, only Plopsa's in a way smaller scale.

Omg I just went to France for my year six trip and we went to plopsaland... the log ride and the big blue one is my favourite ride 😯😯😯😯

The Macarena song is actually"de kabouterdans" translated the gnome dance. That has offcourse a dance with it. But not the macarena ;)

the lyrics of the song at the bunny ride actually tell you how to do the "leprachaun dance": you have to turn around, pound your feet to the ground, wave your hands in the air and sit like a goose. So maybe that's why people looked weird at you for dancing the macarena instead haha

55:26 every ride is themed around a tv personality, this star flyer ride is (now) themed around ROX: basically a kids version of Knight Rider.

The song you were dancing the macarena to (at the bunny rabbit ride) was a massive, massive hit when it came out, it managed to stay in the top 100 selling singles for 64 weeks.
PS: As I do my student job there, I can tell you that Filip has, in fact, been promoted. No joke.
WHy did they remove the kids style music? Where staff getting too annoyed with it?
Fifteen years ago I went to Plopsaland with my parents for the first time. It was my first and only time so it's really cool and weird at the same time to see how much this park has grown after all those years. Also, I was nine y/o so I only remember bits and pieces (although my Mum still has a home video).
First coaster looks like a great starter coaster for kids and to get them in the mood for the launch type of coaster. Loved it.
The man working on the bunny ride clearly loves his job!

I actually worked there too and it's one of the most annoying attractions to work on and constantly hearing the same music drives you nuts. But i never showed my discourage and kept smiling lol.
Anubis the ride won Diamond Themepark Award for best coaster in Belgium for 5 years in a row for a reason. What do you think ? You think it could be one of the better coasters in Europe ?

Really liked your pronounciation of the names of all the rides.Some interesting facts for you:*The duelling single rail coaster (de vleermuis) is still operating but has a lot of technical issues.*The dark ride "het bos van plop" will be replaced in 2018 with a new darkride.*Anubis may be the best Gerstlauer you have ridden so far but they have a lot more good coasters to offer that are even better than anubis:1.Schwur des Kärnan @ Hansa Park2.Junker @ Powerpark3.Fluch von Novgorod @ Hansa Park4.Lynet @ Farup Sommerland

Plopsa has many tv shows for children with its own characters. And most rides in plopsaland are bades on those characters. So is the music 😉

i was suprised to see Maya on Tiny Pop in the UK... oddly the advert was about 9pm at night on a non-children's channel.
30:10 I am watching this 5 years later and I would happily pay £20 for a bag if it meant I could actually visit a park!
If you happen to see this shawn, these old vlogs are keeping me sane in lockdown. If just watched the 2015 California trip and now I'm onto this one!

Side note: the original Viktor's Race was actually demolished at the end of 2013. They then built a new coaster with the same layout and name to replace the old one. So, this coaster is not just well maintained, it's actually a relatively new coaster.
And Vleermuis (the Batflyer) actually consists of two separate coasters, so that would also be two credits.
Anubis is a Movie/ In the nethelrands and belgium.
Yeah, there are 4 movies, but the main thing are the series that have been on tv in the past! 😜

Shawn, in the bunny rabbit ride everyone is looking since it's a song like the Macarena with a dance. Only the lyrics are literally the moves. The go: turn around once, step your feet on the floor, swing your hands in the air, sit down with a sigh, now step around like a goose. That's why people probably looked at you kinda odd :p
I can't believe you went to Plopsaland, I went there 2 years ago when on holiday and it was really hot and really busy
Have you visited Bellewaerde near Ieper, Belgium? I HIGHLY recommend it, absolutely stunning park, great atmosphere, great rides and animals too.
the names of the coasters were in 2 languages written on those bords the upper section was dutch and the bottom section was france

I loved how you danced the macarena in the queline for bunny rabbit ride, very fun to watch! it's called Kabouterdans (Gnome dance) and does have own silly dance routine as well, performed by characters you also saw in the Bos of Plop darkride, theyre from a kids tv show. And the signs are bi-langual Dutch/french, but since they are so close to England they might want to add some english too.
WOuld love to go back to this park, ve only been there once as a kid but they have added some ineresting rides since thn for sure!

Dover-dunkirk is always a bumpy ride as i did the journey on the ferry last year. Wifi on the ferry was epic aswell, hope you didnt get too seasick! Awesome vlog as usual and im looking forward to the vlogs to follow
Theme Park Worldwide, the next time you'll visit Plopsaland, you have to look up 'Studio100' on the internet. Then you'll understand the theming and the music more, because it's all based on tv shows produced by Studio100. But again a great vlog! :-D

The batflyer called "The bat" has a lot of technical problems. And Plopsaland sells the coaster.
The Names on the signs are in dutch and french, so it's just "De Bomstammetjes" which translates to "the logs" :D

Plopsaland used to be Melipark ... Melipark, bought by a honey-farmer was a park themed around flowers, bees and the mother-icon Maya the Bee. It opened in 1935. Outside was a honey-store, believed to sell the best honey in all of Belgium, made by bees in and around the park. In 1999 it turned to Plopsaland. Plopsa is a new installment famous from the Flemish tv-show Gnome Plop in his milk hostel. Glad to see they keep some of the bee-history :)
the song at the bunny ride is also a dance. It means: turn once around, pitch with your feet on the ground. sweep your arms in the air. now take a seat with a sigh. walk around like a duck. that's the way the gnome dance goes.
Watching this vlog for the first time now, watched the Movie Park Germany one a couple a months ago (from the same trip). This has to be one of my favourite Theme Park Worldwide videos, so enjoyable. Around 3/4 years ago I used to love this channel, and as I go through phases on RUclips I stopped watching, only watching videos now and again. This channel is excellent still today having watched the recent videos, but being able to watch vlogs like this from over 5 years ago is so great. Idk if one of the account users will see this message, but I really appreciate the content this account has given us over the years.

Been to Plopsaland yesterday. It is a nice Park. What they need is a rapid and a second Darkride. Anubis is brilliant. But you have to try Kärnan at Hansa Park . It is by far the best Gerstlauer.
The second darkride is in the planning !

Thanks for another vlog. Your first impressions are the absolute best.
Suggestions for the future: When you travel abroad (states or wherever) you should do more footage from "around" the park area, shopping, resorts, airports, travel, etc -- Would be good for you guys to get an extra "bonus footage" video for more views and your viewers get a better insight into your trip and the areas around the park (hotels, etc) --- anyways awesome vids please keep them coming.
We tried to do this alot more in these vlogs, thanks for the tips!

You guys need to try a Star Flyer here in the US. If you think 150 ft tall is scary, try the two 400 ft tall Star Flyers known as the Texas SkyScreamer found at Six Flags Over Texas or the New England SkyScreamer at Six Flags New England.

yes I was hoping you’ll ever go to plopsaland! I live in Belgium and I’ve been there many times before. I have to say when I was little it was a lot different with other characters (from tv shows from studio 100) but time changes. I hoop it you had fun their!! Greeting from Belgium.

Haha that boat ride was strange! There was magic mushroom theming everywhere! Good ride though.
Just a smal note on the zierer: They demolished the old track a few yaers ago and placed an identical version on the same spot.
This place is nuts definitely going to check it out soon and so easy to get too from the UK.
at 36.50 Martin was holding that gnome plushie and he's actually called "Plop" :D

Update : plopsaland just got their permits from the city "De Panne" they can open heide the ride in 6 months but they need to place sound barriers on the ride wich already has been done and it doesnt look to bad its kind've like balder in Liseberg now. So it will open this summer season

Hey Shawn, about the batflyer or vleermuis like we call it in Belgium, it is not sbno, but as if it is a very old and unique attraction, there are a lot of technical problems, most of the time its closed. and no new models will be built. It was designed by Caripro, but that firm is now taken over by Vekoma. I don't know what the problem is but it just seems to be more closed then open. but you'll have the best chance to ride it early in the morning. I must the warn you, the end is very rough :)

I laughed so hard at you guys trying to pronounce 'boomstammetjes' 😂 We in Flanders use the woord boomstammetjes for every logflume,it translates to 'little logs' 😄
The only correct translation indeed ! :-) Somewhere else, I read a commenter who said it means log flume, which is NOT the case ! It means indeed little logs. (Boomstam = log/tree-trunk , word extention - 'metje' = gramatical diminutive .. ;-) ) ..... and "southern-Dutch' version of the same word would be : boomstammekes :-)
Great vlog! The Anubis ride is based off a British TV show on Nickelodeon called House of Anubis
One of Plopsa's other parks, Holiday Park has another Anubis-themed ride with their drop tower. Instead of being well-themed, however, it just loops the theme tune in a dark room in the queue line. Of all the ride themes, it's probably the least fitting I've seen.
Actually the British show house of anubis is a remake of the original Dutch show het huis Anubis. So the ride is named after the original dutch show.
