This is just what I'm looking for. My horn was my first stick. But I didn't like it. I was going to sell it until I stumbled upon korean sticks and how everyone loves them for tekken. Then I found your video on how to mod it. Thanks
Thanks Takohma, I'm glad it helped you out. Myoungshin Fanta is really great for Tekken. Recently I got the Razer Panthera as a gift, and I modded it with the Taeyoung Fanta. I chose the Taeyoung over the Myoungshin this time just to see the difference between the two. I'll do a quick mod walk through and review of the difference between the Myoungshin and Taeyoung sticks soon.
Awesome! Great to know that the TE2 can support this mod as well. I have a Hori RAP4 and a Qanba Drone, and unfortunately the Drone doesn't have enough room for this mod, though I did manage to mount a sanwa compatible version of the Crown 307 joystick. It was a tight fit and I had to bend the pins to get the directional cables plugged in.
Crown also makes sticks with sanwa compatible mounting holes, though I don't know how different it would feel than the traditional crowns with Korean style mounting. I used one of the sanwa style crowns in another stick and compared to the Myoungshins, it feels too loose.
According to focusattack, the crown 309mj is already a Sanwa mount, so you can just do a drop in replacement without doing a lot of the steps I had to do. For grommet swaps, I don't have a video on how to do it, but this video does a teardown of a crown stick so you can see how to open and replace the grommet: ruclips.net/video/FvGQH7zQYRc/видео.html
You'll need to take off the balltop first, then the screws holding the joystick base to the mounting plate. Try this video, ruclips.net/video/7zwrQDi2yjc/видео.html
I believe it will fit, but I don't have the Obsidian, so I can't be sure. The main issue is if you have enough room inside to fit the Kowal plate, and if the stick case has enough depth to accommodate the Fanta sticks. You can find the measurements of the Kowal plate and Fanta sticks online somewhere.
MightyThirsty the kowal mounting plate measures 95mm by 79mm, so if you open the atrox and check if you have enough room to fit the mounting plate, you would be able to tell if this will work or not. I think it will, but I don't have the atrox so can't answer for sure.
MightyThirsty This mod might be a little too advance for you then. Crown does make Korean sticks that are compatible with the atrox's sanwa mount, so that would be the easiest mod if you want to switch to Korean style stick. There are some other youtube tutorials that can show you how to do that.
Sorry for the late reply, I've been away in SE Asia so haven't been keeping up. The longest part of the process for me was drilling out the hole. My bit wasn't that sharp so it took me about an hour overall, but depending on your bits, that could go faster or slower for you. Wiring up the joystick was pretty quick since I've done other mod projects before. Hope your mod goes well.
kevin tala I think someone in the comments said he did it on the TE2... but maybe depends on the version... i would measure the kowal plate and the depth of your stick case to figure out if it fits.

Thanks for making these series of videos. Very indepth and helpful.
I'm glad you find it useful. Hope you got your stick modded and working well :-)
Yup. I've modded a TE2 using your videos, and it all went smoothly.

Joseph Do what kind of conversion Mountain plate did you get?
Joseph Do the reason I ask that is because I have the same stick I'm going to have to need to know what kind of Mountain plate that is ?
I’m gonna try this on mayflash
did it work?
i have wanted to do this with my madcatz fightstick , althought its a crown, now i see someone else have the same idea.
Crown also makes sticks with sanwa compatible mounting holes, though I don't know how different it would feel than the traditional crowns with Korean style mounting. I used one of the sanwa style crowns in another stick and compared to the Myoungshins, it feels too loose.
Will this tutorial work with a Hori Rap 5 lever swap to a 309mj, also do you have a grommet swap vid?

I unscrewed the bottom case but coudn't remove the joystick sanwa, any tips?

hey, will this work with a qanba obsidian?

Joseph Do Okay cool thanks
I have the atrox would the myouggshin fit in it?

Joseph Do dang i have no idea how to swap it or check since ive never done it before might just wait for the crown like infiltration has right now

Joseph Do yea i did a research and found a tutorial who uses the atrox and is using the 303 crown FK thanks for the replies
Great! Good luck modding.
Just wondering about how long this whole process took ?
I have an Omni with a taeyoung stick . But I really like the casing for the HRAP

Hey can you put the fanta on a madcatz TE stick?
