    Have all three - and I love my TRX4’s. I don’t have the sport model, though. But they just seem to go. Bodies are a bit heavy so not the best imo at side hilling - BUT they’re just so tough.

      The TRX4 is a great truck! I think traxxas did a great job on it, and I feel like it’s time for a refresh to catch up to the rest of the newer trucks in terms of new features. 🍻🍻

    Can’t go wrong with any of the rigs. All are designed and built differently and are very capable and durable rigs

      @@the-ab-outdoors if I’m just doing hard rock crawling it’s the Scx10 pro and vanquish chassis which is a very good platform. If I’m doing trailing and rock crawling but not competitive Trx4 sport is the one

      @@the-ab-outdoors what are your true initial thoughts between the vanquish rtr and Trx4 Sport?

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Год назад +1

      I tried to sum it up int he video we have on the stock rtr vs stock trx4 sport.
      The RTR wins to me, but that's because the trx4 is dated. I would say if traxxas were to update it to include things like dig/overdriver it would be pretty hard to beat.

    The Phoenix you say is stock with just brass at the front. It clearly has metal axle housings which is not stock. That can make a huge difference.

    • @the-ab-outdoors
      @the-ab-outdoors  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching!! The weight difference is marginal, and plastic actually slides better over rock, so I’m not sure it’s a huge difference.

    Not really too impressed with the Axial Pro from what I've seen. It's not head and shoulders above its plebian counterparts with it having the word PRO in its name.

      It has potential, but for me due to the price is missed the mark.

      The 10 Pro is a comp truck, it's not a trail truck. If you drive it like a trail truck, you will be disappointed, as you would with any other comp truck. Similarly, you flat out won't see a TRX4 or Phoenix RTR sitting on the podium of a comp either, the Pro has won numerous national events under the helm of its designer and several folks (myself included) have won regional/local comps with them.
      You could argue the case that it's not on par with a Gspeed v4, Exo El Capitan, Brazin, etc trucks, but all of those are considerably more work and more expensive to build out (My v4 is ~$1500 in comparison). In that sense, it is a good value, but you are right, it isn't a good value if your only goal is to get something with 4 wheels to drive.

      @the-ab-outdoors  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the reply! Just curious how the truck has won so much when it’s barely been released for a few months?

      @@the-ab-outdoors The designer, Wyatt, who works for Axial was driving it for at least the past year under wraps, it was discussed on the various webcasts when he released it, people who had been to national events noticed it but it was all covered with the internals hidden. If you look at the finals footage for Supershafty Fall Crawl and Scale Nationals in 2022, you'll see him driving it (white Tacoma body w/ orange rims), there were others but I can't recall what events they were off the top of my head (it was mentioned on Harley's coverage I think? Maybe it was the WDW webcast after, I can't recall), both of those are available on RUclips at least and he podiumed one and won the other. When asked, he said he was running the carbon chassis rails, aluminum C-hubs, Axial brass front/rear, with CMS for the events, so it had some modification done to it, but not a ton.
      It was also released in February, just prior to spring, there have been a lot of regional/local comps since then (I've had 3 since), some folks have posted footage or videos on FB of their local comps when they won with it. The release timing gave people time to build before winter was over and the spring comp season started.
