Markup? Nope, not EVER going to do that...I'll keep my current car or buy something in good shape 5 years old before giving money to these slimeball dealers...
Dealerships are charging markups because some buyers are just willing to pay. If the buyers were like me, those vehicles would still be collecting dust 3 years from now.
I’m holding on for 3 years for my 2nd car. But now I kind of used to it, why can’t I manage with just one car, it’s a hassle but manageable. I invested some of the savings and spent on home improvement and travel.
Dealerships are just screwing dumb people….Manufacture sell the car to the dealer for profit and sets a MSRP. If the dealer sells the car at MSRP they make a profit. Why are they marking up the prices? Nothing to do with inflation just greed.
@@4ft3rburn3r they are holding cars on the lot for more than 30-40 days now, including CR-V that’s mentioned in this video. They don’t want to reduce because they got used to the high mark up. The next thing they need is recession and close the business
Toyotas are getting marked up because at a lot of dealerships, you can probably count on one hand the number of each model they have available... Not sure what's up with their manufacturing capability, but "Demand" is somewhat inflated due to the severe lack of supply - so yeah, you combine this with their reputation for quality, and it ends up driving the price that people are apparently willing to pay.
They are controlling the inventory. Their vehicles are always in transit. It will screw Toyota in long run. They lost me to Honda and Mazda. Got 2 brand new cars below MSRP.
Your markup averages on the Kia Tellurides are way off! Here in Atlanta GA, on Kia Telluride, the average markups are anywhere from $6,000 to $12,000+…depending on trim level!!! The dealers are unforgiving and totally unwilling to negotiate. Pay it or walk is their motto right now. Insanity!! Pure greed!
Markups are only worse for Tellurides, at time of this video 1,500 markup…now 6 months later it’s 5,500 in NC. I never thought I’d be happy to pay msrp. Anybody know of Kia dealership in NC or VA not marking up their tellurides?
I wanted to buy a 2023 Honda Civic Sport. Found the color I wanted but have to wait over two months for the car to be made. WTH. lol. Honda needs to put the workers on overtime or something. Most Honda dealers only have like two Civics on the lot and most are in transit and sold before getting to the dealer.
Those are the four dealers you can still get a lot of deals on here.... The US buyers are at least smart enough to stay away from those brands, literally I drive by the dealership and they're full of stock at a Nissan
You left out Ford Raptor. I’ve been looking for about two months and having a really hard time finding one at MSRP. Most dealers are $5000 to $10,000 over MSRP. I’d like to buy one, but I am not going to pay over MSRP.

Anyone that pays over MSRP for a vehicle ( ESPECIALLY A CRAPPY KIA ) is a fool. Overpaying for a depreciating asset is a great way to stay middle class or lower forever.

Depends on the make and model. All the cars that were mentioned in the video are cars where demand far surpasses supply of the car.

@@sxsunda4424 I don't see many CR-Vs available for sale at dealerships near me.
There are far too many safe and reliable cars on the market to pay above MSRP for anything, especially a depreciating asset like a car.

For Sienna, the dealer adjustment in my area is a standard 6k with a minimum 3-month wait time

where are these 3-5% markups lol not in las vegas, nv
Please don't faint when you see the average markup on Toyotas in CA are $5k to $10k (check Hayward and Roseville). They came down from $20k markup.
On top of that, even if you are ok with paying a mark up on those toyotas, you can't find them.
