    I've never seen Audrey portrayed quite like this its very uniquely clear thats shes like idk how to say it but like from the streets. Like in that world growing up thinking she'll never be anything and putting up walls to protect herself and she plays it a lot less softly like others. Not so much naivety but more learned helplessness.

    I just love the choices they made here. Rob's voice is a little thinner and quieter than most Seymours, but Lena just absolutely belted the sh*t out of it anyway...and it works.

    This feels like most unique and most effective take on Audrey I've seen since Ellen. Sturdier. More Brooklyn. So much in those eyes, too. Love it.

      Well said. I love Lena Hall and was excited to find this. I knew she'd blow the roof off vocally, but was extremely taken with her solid, very real Audrey.

    I think Rob McClure is one of the best stage actors of our generation. From Chaplin to this, he transforms with every single role he takes on. He is a master! Ms. Hall is also fantastic!

    Okay, so I don't know what's going on with Audrey's "Elvis lip curl thing" there (it's a tad bit distracting), BUT...
    She is the ONLY woman I've ever heard sing this song who has come CLOSE to Ellen Greene. She's got an amazing voice, and she OWNED this song. I got chills!

      I watch it often, but I think Ellen's voice is too breathy and she portrays Audrey as the stereotypical "dumb blonde" a little too much. Not a fan

    I saw this over Christmas and holy shit there's a reason Little Shop of Horrors has been one of my favorite things over 35 years on this planet. AND Seymour was Jeremy Jordan from Supergirl and I LOVED his character there. Here's to another 35 years before I feed the plants!

    This was so good, I had to turn my phone sideways. I have seen several professional productions of Little Shop and have never seen an Audrey portrayed this way. The way she was meant to be! Cheers to Lena Hall! Still have goosebumps.

      They really really didn't release much promo material with Apatow because they didn't need it to sell tickets. Not sure if she was a strong enough singer for the part. Could be the other reason.

    Maude Apatow seems such a delightful girl but I can't get my head around the transition from Lena Hall to her. These two have to be near the top of my Seymour/Audrey pairings of all time.

      They need to sell tickets. Recognizable names sell. Most of the times they are not the best cast for the parts but it's a business. Apatow is a good actress for the part but as a singer... not in the right league.

      This production took the role in a different direction. Gone are the days of the wispy Ellen Greene caricature and now Audrey is a street smart, Sally Bowles type. And honestly, it works.

    I saw this with Jonathan Groff and Christian Borle. They were great and really seemed to enjoy riffing off each other. Tammy Blanchard was Audrey and, personally, I can't stand her.       Ya I'm not a fan of Tammy on the cast Recording. She don't have the right voice for Audrey in my opinion. It's to bad Lana didn't originate the role.

      Her voice sounds AMAZING! If you’re talking about the ‘screlty’ sound to her belt it’s just her style! Lena Hall is known for her insane rock belt and she’s just adding her specialty to this role to make it her own
