Just catching up Gary, good video Sir 👍🏻
Cheers Steve 👍🏻
Ive owned quite a few bikes in my 25 years of riding. And even though ive always loved my Hondas.. The Thundercat is the best bike ive ever owned. Solid build. Got over 80,000 miles on mine and I did 60,000 without an oil change. SHAME ON ME! But it shows how bulet proof it is. The bike is still running with a new owner ten years later after I sold it (its had an oil change by the way!). Thats how utterly brilliant these bikes are! Cheap to buy, cheap to run, fast as F*** and they eat miles as good as the most reliable Honda. If you want a quick 600cc for your first bike, thats cheap, this is the one! The worst problem I ever has was the rear disk brake cracking. The only annoying reoccurant issue was the brakes having to be serviced twice a year as they binded quite regually if your an all year rider. apart from that.... It was the best bike ive ever owned! Got a VFR800 V-Tec now. Lovely bike but the electrics are a pain in my arse! It would be as good as the Thundercat if it didnt have the electric gremlins.
Nice this bike actually went on to be a first bike for a young chap 👍🏻
Good job ! Greetings from poland club yamaha !
Hello poland 💪🏻
Yeah mate them plugs where a tad old. Oil was as black as my Derv. Nice one mate good job Gary. Don't know what the Weather is like with you but I know it's crap up here.👍
Cold ali 😂 the carbs where no better 🤦♂️
good vid gary nice bike keep up the good vids thanks lee
Thanks lee 👍🏻
Nice bike, I really need to get some work done on the ZZR600. Wish I had room for a lift.
The lift is a god send 🙏
Great video Gary that oil was a bit tad black i would suggest a coolant and brake fluid change this the oil been so old looking
All in hand nev thanks for watching 👍🏻
Looks like that was over filled with oil. It did look very thin which I'd normally think to be fuel in the oil but as you have a fuel pump I don't think that much would leak from the carbs. Its 2.9 ltrs with oil and filter change.
I was thinking along the same lines as you particularly as you have cab problems
Id use tinfoil over the headers in future mate
Nice video sir 👍🏼
Cheers John 👍🏻
You too Gary 🙂
Love the video. How would you suggest accessing the plugs without having to do a carb job? Can the coil 'plates' be removed without removing the carburetor? Or is it meant to be accessed from the side? Thanks for any help.
last time i saw oil that thin had petrol in from a bad float
This video its awesome i just got this bike and learning a lot quick question right before you broke the drain plug lose you moved a rubber hose with plastic piece connected to it what is that?
Ideally you should loosen or remove the oil filler cap,as it will release the vacuum inside.
You didn't replace or rotate the crush washer on the sump plug.
Also ideally you'd check to see if any detritus is around the spark plugs & remove prior to withdrawing the plugs. Otherwise the detritus will fall into your engine.
Looks like petrol has entered the engine oil via a sticking or leaking float bowl Gary.
I use nrp.carbs in Manchester for rebuild kits...OEM quality and fair prices.
Hi Daniel sump washer was checked and I always blow air down before changing plugs to avoid any debris dropping into the engine like you say sometimes you get stuck into the job and you realise the camera is on or the footage is no good and this isn't a how to this is just me showing people me working on a project bike. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great video. Do you have anything on water pump replacement for the same bike?
No sorry.
Nice video . I got a question on the airfilter does it need to be oiled or not.
Putting oil on the filter prevents debris and dirt going through the filter 👍🏻
😀Did you check the spark plug gap before installing?
I did 👍🏻
Think you have fuel leaking from the carbs in to the sump thats why so much oil
You forgot to oil the air box filter, you will end up with fluffy carbs lol
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays whichever you say.
Merry Christmas to yourself to 🎉🎉
Nice video, are you changing the fuel filter.? Stuck float height In a carb will fill up the sump, did the oil smell of petrol?
No smell in oil bud 👍🏻
Hi, I own a YZF 1000 Thunderace with only 100HP, which normally should be a 145 HP. I was told the bike is an import, probably from Germany. Is it easy to unblock the bike so that I can get the 45HP back?

Check out my yamaha fzr play list where I derestrict it 👍🏻
Hello Gary. Do you think gas got in oil because of the carbs? Good video my friend 👍
Hi bud I'm not to sure it didn't smell of gas but then it was 10 year plus old so could have lost its smell 👍🏻
I'd love to see the fork oil on that well used bike,,,I'll bet its original and smells like death
I added oil to mine and changed oil filter. I took it out and the oil light kept staying on throughout. Do you know what could the problem be?
Nice job Gary have you worked on a scooter with injection
Not that I can remember gaz 👍🏻
@@ProjectMan ok mate just that when son was following me said my scooter smelt bad of petrol
I tend to stick to older bikes mate
@@ProjectMan don't blame you Gaz new stuff pain in arse wondering if air filter could course it
How much is this engine Yamaha thunder cat 600 I need it now
What's your coil pack wiring look like please send help 😭🙏

@@ProjectMan got ya, all good I'm going thru an intricate diagnosing phase trying to figure out why I'm not getting any spark at all, any tips after building this bike??
Plugs, coil, plug leads
Were can i get a gas tank bro
