This Wooden Scrap Business Aims to Empower the PWD Community | Common Room PH

For Cut the Scrap, the wooden scrap business that aims to empower the PWD community, it has always been about upcycling and uplifting. Kai Docot-Tolentino, together with her husband, Mond Tolentino, continue the social enterprise for disabled persons that her late father, who was also a person with disability, started. The woodshop business produces nifty upcycled wooden crafts from scraps discarded by big furniture manufacturers. Get to know how they kept the upcycling woodworking venture going even when they faced many difficulties.
Common Room PH is a collaborative space for artists and makers in the Philippines. Our physical stores provide a venue for local creatives to showcase their handcrafted products and original artworks. Our web store and digital platform on RUclips enable our community to reach more, not only through their products, but also through their stories. Our hope is that whether online or offline, these venues provide a home and a safe space for creatives to express themselves, support each other, grow together, and empower others to make with their hands.
