I think its a bit redundant, tbh. I mean, monsters can be creatures and vice versa. Look at the Daleks. I think they technically classify as creatures and they're monsterous.
@@Soron661 I wouldn't look too deep into it. Consider the context. The doctor is trying to say something hopeful and reasurring to make sure Ruby is at ease. Also The doctor is known to be fancinated by new life forms and often doesn't see them as monsters. Like with the creature in midnight. He was the only one who didn't want to kill it. @@alberto.jaramillodoctor who and high budget in the same sentence? That's interesting.
It doesn't matter what the budget is. It's all about the quality of the writing. Which has been subpar since the end of the Moffat era.

I disagree. I think the Wild Blue Yonder episode of the specials proved that quality writing is back with RTD. The other episodes had some problems but that was the most basic doctor who episode so far of the new era and it was great. Really creative scenes and the threat felt very very real. The ending was great and it added a new iconic line, "my arms are too long." Come on. That episode had good writing.
Wild Blue Yonder and the Giggle were very well written imo.
So nice to see how much eric has accomplished after leaving Moordale ❤

I’m beginning to think Doctor Who with a Star Wars budget might not be such a bad idea after all
it won't feel the same way as before, but it's better to still have the show keep going than stopping now.
I've always liked that even with the large budgets they still have nods to their low budget past. when they boosted the budget in ssn 6 they still had little nods to their past. seems like they'll still do that here too.
My farts are better than Disney's farts.
@@Altmetalpunk I think they pulled that off with the practical goblins in the church on ruby road
It’s a move that only benefits the show in the long run. This turns Doctor Who into a premiere science fiction franchise, no longer hindered by the BBC’s lack of funding. It’s a whole new era of the show and it’s something I’m terribly excited for.
I was burnt out of Doctor Who by the end of the Capaldi era, so not watching Whitaker out of obligation because I adore the franchise. Personally, I’m a science fiction writer and Doctor Who was a foundational point for me to access my own creativity. Many of my science fiction stories now are simply adapting old Doctor Who ideas I had going for years (I’m an American, so I’ll never be able to write for the show unfortunately). After watching the Anniversary Specials and Christmas Special, I feel like a fourteen year old again who’s so excited for the next Doctor to make his premiere. I haven’t looked forward to Doctor Who like this since Peter Capaldi was cast in 2014
I dig that Fifteen doesn't simply have one sort of outfit he wears. It's a change of pace.

I'm totally smitten with Ruby's photo with the music notes at 1:35! Already, this season appears to be amazing.
Welcome to Disney's budget
I love that Ncuti is bringing the same kind of youthful energy that Matt Smith brought to the role in his first few series while also making the role his own
Someone once told me that every Dr has the personality of a fun teacher at school, where they differ is just what subject that teacher would teach. Like how Ncuti has the energy of a fun art teacher
@@24shineon capaldis definitely maths or science but he's perfect
He's giving a lot of 9 energy and I am SO here for it
What I'm not seeing though, and it's something the younger Doctors need, is the "old man in a young man's body". For a guy in his twenties, Smith could give a look that said "I'm ancient". Ncuti (so far) hasn't done that.
@@gregcampbell4 I agree that that’s an important part of the character. I think this version of the doctor is kinda over the time war and has moved on to be a more truly joyous person, rather than the joyous but sorta sad as well version we’ve had.
I still think the oldness will come out but, as with the others, it depends on the material of the scripts. I think we saw a bit of glimpse of his potential during the Christmas special when Ruby was taken and The Doctor was in the living room and he turns his head while thinking. I’m really excited to see what ends up happening, not long now!!
The wardrobe team had one helluva job to do in this film
