The Conny was my starter ship, back in the days, and when they introduced the variants, I upgraded to a Phoenix. Some day it got an overhaul and since than, she looks like this. I never was happy with her, but since my starter package comes with physical items, I won't melt her. Anyway, besides a gold standard I would indeed change some things: cockpit/crew-area, make it modern, nice and clean. Make her roughly 6m longer: port-side: get rid of the small living area and add a docking collar/passenger entrence. Starboard-side make the small living area bigger for 2 persons, bunk bed is fine for me - luxory version, add a shoilette, lockers, a window. Entrence to cargohold near the new added docking collar. Master bedroom: add lockers, seating area and a bathroom. Get rid off the whirlpool and either add more seating area, a guest toilete/shoilette, or another small bedroom with shoilette, locker and window. The seating area is just perfect for me. The bar, well, I see, it's iconic. Get the engineering stuff away from the passenger area and bring some shine into the back... make the ship's turrets slaved to an MFD, not manned turrets. And there needs to be a little kitchen, serving a pizza from the bar seems wrong... cause the added length, I don't mind if some manouvering stats get worse. What do you think? And you forgot to mention the sunken old and broken model Phoenix in the fish tank. Which makes me sad now....
Those are some pretty cool ideas, lemme add mine on top of that: - Instead of having a dedicated retractable cargo bay underneath the ship, I'd convert it to a fixed space that would be the same height as the cargo bay in its' extended mode. Then cut it 50/50, with one half being an extension to the living quarters with an elevator and the other half being a dedicated hangar for the Ursa. - As an extension to your turret idea, make them smaller in terms of size, but keep the gun size, aka a smaller turret profile. - Relocate the components to the front of the ship so the rear space gets freed up and use that for whatever fits best. My last point would concern the Connie in general, give it a retractable landing gear for the front so you don't do catastrophic nosedives everytime you land.
I bought one last IAE and love it. It needs a real bathroom for guests besides the rework for the bridge and crew quarters. Don't forget it comes with the Lynx!
With the PDC finally working, and the video confirming PDC"s will be reserved for capital-size ships, i expect this to be a bit more popular this IAE than usual as what may be the only small ship with a PDC.
The passenger's window roof is a thing of beauty, like on the 300i, it truly is a feature missing on many other ships ! My favorite feature on this the Phoenix, it made me hesitant when I had to choose between it and the Taurus, and I ended up getting the Taurus for the extra large cargo hauling capacities. And usually I'm the guy who will prioritize form over function. And the Taurus has quite a lot of wasted space at the rear (where the short range fighter docks on other variants). If it's not a cargo grid, it's wasted ! Oh, also I seem to notice something weird about the way our luxury passengers get in the ship : there are no proper entry point for them. They either enter through the crew elevator, and crew quarters, or through the cargo area. None of these access points scream "premium luxury class" to me.
Just a quick additional note - while getting the Phoenix in game is definitely the easier/economical way to get the ship, you do miss out on the free RSI Lynx that comes bundled with the Phoenix if you get it through the pledge store. Not necc a deal-breaker for most, but worth mentioning!
sure you get a RSI Lynx when you buy the Phoenix through the pledge store. BUT, its a limited Hull, so you have to win the F5 wars to get one of these beauties.
One nice thing about the Phoenix is that the cargo bay seems just a little bit wider than the Andromeda's. Maybe I'm imagining it? But it seems easier to get an Ursa into.
Love your quick walk through reviews man. I go back and forth between this and the Andromeda for a little more ease of use for current gameplay. I picked up an Emerald pack a few years back so I buy it back sometimes to enjoy.
Nice review! I agree with what you said. One thing I believe the Phoenix needs is a better cockpit. Either one like the Aquila or it's own more luxurious. I like the Constellation series, I used to fly the Taurus. Great ships except they want to take a nosedive when landing 😂
Nice video! I use the Emerald version from Stella Fortuna as my daily. Ready for the ship to get a pass, which is way overdue. Really enjoying the Point Defense!
I've been a Phoenix owner sense joining the game in 2016 and still love the ship! The one flaw I have the hardest time with is the lack of a VIP bathroom and wish CIG would convert the first pair of seats on the left as you enter to a VIP bathroom. I also feel it's missing a vip entrance but I can accept passengers moving through the crew area on embarkation.
I hope they fix the broken piano (which was interchangeable with the large conference table) someday. It used to work and play music. Note that not all Phoenix purchases included the piano. Also of interest, the beds in the crew area are also ejection pods. The VIP area doesn't have any.
The Phoenix Emerald is an absolutely _gorgeous_ ship. It's the only Connie I would ever want. But I'd only buy it on one condition. I'd need to have enough money in Store Credits to buy the Foruna Legends pack. My 600i Explorer was only about $275, and it'd be hard for me to justify spending _more_ on a smaller ship. But it is beautiful. Also the source of one of my most epic solo moments in the 'verse. The first time I took one out for a flight at IAE a few years ago, after soft death was introduced, I decided to see how it would run so I started doing bounties with it. The target was either an MRT or HRT on Daymar. I get there and it's in atmo. I arrive and it's just a mess of Hornets. I take the target down then start taking down the others. One rams me from behind and takes out my top two engines. I start rolling uncontrollably, and before I can regain control, I've crashed, continued rolling, and clipped off the other two engines. The Phoenix is disabled on the ground. I hop out before they can finish it off. Which leaves me alone, on Daymar, at night, with nothing but a set of Stitcher armour and an FS-9 and an X4 scope. I focus fire on the two remaining Hornets' cockpits any time they're in range. Eventually taking out both of them before calling for a ride.
Amazing ship. So much utility in a sexy-as-hell package. Easily my favourite Daily Driver. Just wish they'd swap the hot-tub to something, y'know... decent :D
Expected to see a bedroom.. interior (a room with that king sized bed inside) but only saw a bed in this video but other than that a nice video as always.

Several issues I see with this ship: - no dedicated passenger entrance (they have to board through crew area) - no passenger bathrooms (they use the crew one?) - no kitchen/food making facilities - cargo bay only accessible in passenger area - spa/pool seems an odd addition given lack of kitchen & bathroom
Actually managed to get on the other day, even sat in the dry ''Hot Tub'' and at the table, shame the Piano hasn't been dropped into the Subscriber store. Will give it a few days then try to take it through the JUMP GATE, being in the passenger seat will be pretty awesome, i'll have to try that, tricky.....but i'll die trying. PS: i was thinking about starting a small tour business, transporting paying passengers to and from Pyro, taking them to destinations in the verse, cant see why it wouldn't work, and in the Phoenix it would be an experience seated with outer passengers. Could even add more seating and make it a financially viable enterprise. Yet, it does seem to good to be true, i can already think of multiple reasons for pranks and hijacking?.
10:06 this is the main reason i dont like the interior design of the other constellations, Phoenix has the same SCU than Andromeda or Aquila, so its a waste of space that could room a better interior layout to other variants (Taurus too being the cargo version +10meters long would be better a second floor to hold special valuable cargo or something like this) I mean i have an andromeda and i love the ship, but the interior loadyout has too much wasted space
Actually the Phoenix has less SCU than the Andromeda or Aquila. It's only 80 instead of 96 because you can't fit that extra 1 SCU layer on top (because that space is taken up by the passenger floor above it.) There are still spaces where I agree, however, that space could be better utilized. I guess we'll see what happens when they get around to updating it
Constellations are ships that have recently grown on me and I purchased a Taurus and loved it. This ship isn't super pretty but I think the "rear" part of the ship is the best looking, everything behind the crew elevator. That's really scifi looking. Now, everything in front of the crew elevator, which I'll call the ship's head, is weird looking and kinda ugly too. The cockpit canopy is super weird looking if you compare it to the sleek designs of the newest RSI ships, Zeus and Polaris, and the side "canard wings" with the VTOL glowy engines add to the weirdness. The last bad taste item on that ship's head are the manned turret. Maaaan they look ugly. At least they are hidden when not manned, but even still ugly. If we get the rumored mark 5 Constellation, I hope it get a better cockpit canopy like the Zeus or Polaris, and some sleek, smaller, remote turrets. Keep the rear and mostly improve on that ship's head.

Ngl rented this ship for contraband missions and it was a big mistake. I was going to rent the andromeda at first but prices have risen a lot so as the phoenix was a bit cheaper I thought it would do the job. IT DOESNT. The shields are farely good and the ship is pretty tanky but the weapons just can’t take out turrets. Apart from that when I was loading some drug boxes to the cargo bay they would just faze through the ground when I raised the cargo support so I had to stash them in a room in the luxury area and I still lost one box and there was another that FAZED THROUGH THE WALL of the room I and I found it in the corridor. So that u know just take the andromeda for an extra 30k if u want to rent a ship to do this kind of missions
I tried to rid myself of this ship. Couldn´t do it. Because 1.) I really like the design of the Constellation and the "legacy" feel it gives me, one of the oldest ship designs in the game - and one CIG nailed, in my opinion, right off the bat. And 2.) this ship is well armed, well protected and comes with an extra fighter craft (and a comfy rover if you buy it from the pledge store). The only thing preventing me from using this as a daily driver is the fact that I do like cargo hauling a lot - and both the scu capacity as well as the accessibility of the cargo bay leave a bit to be desired. Then again that´s what the Taurus is there for. Overall though... you can´t go wrong with a Constellation. And the Phoenix, especially when used for its intended purpose, is just wonderful. Sitting at those large windows gazing out while being ferried around... is just nice.
I've never been a fan of the Constellation ships. They just don't appeal to me, personally. If I were to ever acquire one it would likely be the Phoenix, though I would prefer the cockpit was the one from the Constellation Aquila.
It is so busy, but not in the way drake ships are. It has elegant design language with its shapes and colour scheme, but it does nothing elegant with the design language. Things stick out, and it is bulbeous. It seems slapped together in ways.
If I buy a Phoenix, will you be my chauffeur? You'll have to share the single tiny bathroom with the rest of the crew AND the passengers, though. Maybe that's why the cover on the hot tub is locked . . .
@@CathrineMacNiel A Taurus yes but lest be honest the ship the Connie series is now won't be the same when all the ship balancing and rework is done. But its a moot point anyway as you cannot CCU to a Phoenix plus i flew my 400i last night and still love it.
@@honey-fe6pj i mean, we still wait for the 600i rework. It will be amazing once its done... but when will it be done? Until then its a bug ridden ship. I own the Phoenix, just to flex 😎
Nice flex!!
The update should be interesting.
The upper area, kind of makes the other Connies look like they have wasted space.
The constellations are growing on me lol
What helmet is that? Looks cool
No bathrooms and toilets for the VIP guests. What kind of oversight is that? A HUGE ONE!
Hot Tub
my favourite ship BUT i believe they are size 4 cannons on S5 gimble mount. I also dont think all hardpoints can be swapped for a s5 either
They are all size five guns on size 5 varipucks, this change happened a couple patches ago. You can swap any of the four guns out with any size 5 gun.
Dose it not come with a rover anymore?
legit just opened yt just to see a new 10 Minutes More or Less Ship Review. Lets goo!
Here on the dot!
It also comes with a RSI Lynx. Just not in it. You have to put it in yourself though for now.
My first ship 😍
I LOVE THESE VIDEOS SO MUCH !!
Makes me happy to know that! Thank you!
I'm a little late to the video but hello. and thank you for another ship review.
Thank you for watching it!
New even lease on my break?!?!?!
Sounds like a good break to me!
Can proenix use all contellation's paints?
So that u know just take the andromeda for an extra 30k if u want to rent a ship to do this kind of missions
yeeeh! the table finally works ! we all waited for this magical moment XD
was a little bumbed the constellation won't be getting a new mark version, I don't think a rework will be enough to bring it up to standard
No since the table works, the toilet does not work any more.... so its was not just this time...
Sweet ship that is
I've never been a fan of the Constellation ships.
I agree with you. The Aquila has a great view and would honestly help the rest of the ships look better.
I always find the connies a long pipe. You walk from one room into the other. Otherwise a complete ship!
the Phoenix can carry the cyclone storm tank barely :D
they need to rework the entire ship to "luxury"
That would be cool!
If I buy a Phoenix, will you be my chauffeur? You'll have to share the single tiny bathroom with the rest of the crew AND the passengers, though. Maybe that's why the cover on the hot tub is locked . . .
Are… are you pico? This feels very pico…
Upgrading an unmeltable 400i (64% off) to Phoenix? What do you think?
have you flown a Connie (Phoenix) before? Does its flight profile appeal to you?
@@CathrineMacNiel A Taurus yes but lest be honest the ship the Connie series is now won't be the same when all the ship balancing and rework is done. But its a moot point anyway as you cannot CCU to a Phoenix plus i flew my 400i last night and still love it.
@@honey-fe6pj i mean, we still wait for the 600i rework. It will be amazing once its done... but when will it be done? Until then its a bug ridden ship.
But I think the 400i is gorgeous and so is the middle section of the Phoenix (sans its deathpit leading to the cargo bay). I am to buy back my 400i pre sale ship again, since I miss it so much, even though its also in a rough spot right now (its component amount was reduced tremendously, it suffers constantly of new visual glitches)
I just managed to snag one thanks to the IAE!
I wish I could get this ship but each year I try, to no avail...
Just buy one in game
I GOT IT YAY ! (Forgot to mention, I was getting it with store credits)@@davewills148
@@davewills148 Yay I got it !! (should have mentionned that I wanted to get it with store credits, not real money...)
I want windows like that but on a smaller vessel. This one is too big for me
300i?
Hot tub works now!
wait... my taurus has no PDS....
Nope! It’s only on the phoenix.
Only Capital ships atm, and those promised at Concept
I want this ship!
It’s a nice ship.
I love my 🐦🔥 but i wish i didn't have to pay $350 for it. No CCUs for it.
I recently purchased a Phoenix, I hope install a restroom in the passenger area. No reason all these high dollar VIP's should have to pee on themselves.
Not sure how they missed having a bathroom for the passengers. I feel bad for the people that paid for a private room but have to hold their urine the whole trip! Lol
Good point!!!
This thing is TOO good. If CIG has any integrity left they'll nerf it.
Cry more Corsair fanboy😂
@@Fotomoloman Never had one and probably never will. Actually, I hate the interior, and much prefer the interior of the Connie as jank as it is. Maybe try empathy next time, because this only reflects poorly on you.
@@Mindbulletz Connie was always fine and nobody talked about it and CIG even buffed it. After Corsair got nerfed everybody is crying about the Connie now. So yeah: totally a fanboy!
Bro wtf I looked just to see if you had one on this ship… have a 20% off coupon…
And you saved me $ lol
Cool ship, but I won't ever buy one becuase of the cargo elevator.
PayToWinCitizen sells you a "variant" of three near identical ships, that has a bar to sell you copium. I love that.
Luxury is not my style, I'm more into Drake style 🙂
Connie Bridge is the biggest fail of the whole series, it needs a rework to restore this ships status to a wow factor like when it was 1st introduced
